Great local whitefish and walleye, fresh and smoked, plus a variety of other fish from elsewhere; good(Western) salmon, fresh and smoked. The whitefish sausage is very good. And serious foodies, take note — here’s where to go to get panfish like bluegill, rock bass and crappie, short of going out with a pole and hook yourself, as well as some hard-to-find-in-markets lake fish like lake trout and sheepshead.(The less popular fish do not come fileted, but if you call ahead they will clean your fish for you, for a price.)

Whitefish sausage. Smoked Salmon. Oh boy, I’m a happy seafood lovin’ gal! The Bay Port Fish Co. was a random stop on my tour of the thumb. The storefront isn’t much. You can pick up smoked or raw fish. I imagine you also can pick up whole fish there but they didn’t have much seeing that I stopped by on a Sunday. Pricing was fair, the lady that helped us was nice enough. The real star is the salmon, in my opinion. It was perfectly smoked, falling apart beautifully and delicious to the end. The whitefish sausage was my husband’s favorite… it was wonderfully seasoned and tasty as well. Next time I’m in the thumb and in the area, you definitely know that I’ll be stopping here for my smoked fish fix. ==$ 20 min. on credit cards==
