One me favorite places to go on Long Island. Food is fantastic, atmosphere is great and service is good. Our favorite is the chorizo & gouda mac & cheese, mix them together and you won’t be sorry! Seriously though, everything you order is great– menu changes from season to season so there are always new surprises every time we go.

If your ever in the BayShore area of Long Island make this spot a stop on your journey. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the service was second to none. I can’t wait to go again the menu was packed with great choices for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Which is why we went. It was a blast being able to eat what we wanted all in the same place. I will definitely visit again. :-)

When I go out I like a place that is «different» from the food I have at home. Tullulah is that kind of place. The eclectic combinations and scope of the menu is somethings I would never associate together and others are riffs on existing favorites. In eery case they were excellent to outstanding. The food«pops» with flavor and the combinations work well. The chorizo with apple glaze is not a combo I would use, but it was wonderful. Mussels with kimchi, Lamb pasta with green curry, oyster tacos all are a little out of the box but presented, prepared and served in an unmatched manner. Each dish was an explosion of great flavors. The serral signature cocktails were interesting and the selection of craft beers was impressive. Service was laid back and very professional. Kudos to the food runners/bus staff. The complimented the great service provided by our waitress. Definitely worth a trip and we will return.

Came here for my anniversary with Bryan and we both loved it from start to finish. It’s all small plates so they recommend two plates per person. Drinks — I got the Mrs. McCormick(tito’s vodka, carpano bianco, triple sec, st. germain, blue curacao and champagne) Bryan got the Tullulah’s Old Fashioned. We both enjoyed them a decent amount. Food — we started with the mac and cheese and baked clams. The mac and cheese is a majority of the five stars alone, it was that good. We basically licked the bowl clean… without actually licking it(we were in public, ya know?) The baked clams weren’t really for me. They were a bit spicy with the pepper jack and jalapeño but it was cool that they used cornbread as the breadcrumb. For dinner I got the lamb pasta(house-made pappardelle pasta, lamb, coconut green curry and tzatziki sauce). It was REALLY good. I’m so happy I went with this dish. Bryan got the skirt steak(match stick fries on top, sautéed watercress and chimichurri). His was delicious also. The service was really nice, our waitress was sweet and even the hosts were pretty cool. Décor was like an artsy/trendy type of restaurant. I loved how they present the bill — it’s like a bookmark in a journal that you can write your own little story in. Very cute. We will definitely come back!

Went there for a birthday party celebration for a Friday evening. Was starved! Food was tasty! Unfortunately, for the pricing, I was very disappointed with the size portion that was served. Not a place for big eaters like myself!

This place is outstanding!!! Went to visit for memorial day weekend & our guide Hanna recommended we eat here… excellent choice! I had the Bfast Burrito(I don’t even like burritos) & it was delicious! My other cohorts had Chicken Waffles — good meal, but spicy syrup, just FYI. Our guide had the Peach French Toast… hands down, this is to die for it was almost like bread pudding! I wonder if Tullulahs can overnight a plate of french toast over to Chicago or open a dang restaurant here? Business would boom on the northside of Chicago! Thanks to the staff at Tullalahs, if I lived there you’d see my face more often!!! :D

Blew us away. We just went in there to get a quick bite in between a busy Saturday and it was there for us. Food was fresh and presented quickly as well as delicious. Meg was the hostess and was awesome nice honest and really helpful. Full disclosure we had an event at another place coming up and we switched it to this place while waiting for the check ha-ha. We took a peak at the other menus and they really have an awesome spin on food. The décor was real nice too rustic feeling. Obviously we are going back but on top of that we are going back a few more times most likely. I am a fan.

Food was good here, service was just okay. Waiter never refilled our wine and water after the initial wine pour. But more irritating than that were the busboys(there’s likely a nicer term) who were overly eager to take away our plates– with food still on them! I literally had to ask several times for them to stop. For one, I felt like they were trying to rush us,(even though the restaurant was quite empty at the time) and secondly, this is supposed to be a tapas place– which means multiple people are eating off these plates and negotiating the sharing. To take away a plate with food on it, without asking first, is just odd and rude. Undecided on whether I’d go back.

Been to this restaurant a few times now, each time they do not disappoint. Service is always on top of their tables, the dishes are phenomenal and creative. Try the steak, worth getting the 40 oz and having leftovers(they won’t last long). Only criticism is the bread, it’s a little cardboardish for me but that might just be my Italian showing

Bay shore is ADORABLE. How have I lived on Long Island forever and not reason how freakin’ cute this town is?! I’m not in the mood to write a long winded review. But basically this place changes its menu’s with the seasons. Our food was good except our scallops which were RIDICULOUSLYOVERSALTED. Tasted like it was basically seared in salt then topped with salt then drizzled with a salt reduction. Other than that — the food was extremely tasty, lots of flavor, great drink menu with interesting options. The service was great as well. I will be back to bay shore to try the other cute restaurants on that strip and come back for the spring/summer menu!

My friend came across this place and I’m glad she invited us! We had a reservation for a Friday night and were seated immediately. The place has kind of a Brooklyn hipster vibe and everyone is good looking and energetic! The bartenders were more craftsman of cocktails by the look of the menu, although I personally had wine. The menu is small plates but was so great is that considering the prices they were share-able! Unfortunately we started off with a bomber-the deviled eggs with caviar-we specifically asked if how salty the caviar was and were told not too salty but it was. All four of us agreed they were gross. Anyway/that was the only bad thing we had. The wine list was small but what we ordered was delicious.(Sav blanc) I had the kale salad and it was delectable. We shared the chorizo and it was as good as the reviews say. Then I had the cod and the carrot purée was amazing! So good. My husband and friend ordered the steak for two medium-although it was a little too cooked, the flavor and crispy outside was magnificent! The service was fantastic the acoustics were good considering how many people were there and overall we had a wonderful evening. It was about $ 75 a person and worth every penny.

Drinks are very creative at this quiet hot spot. Food is out of this world delicious. Very thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients. The menu is not overwhelming but there is something for every taste.

Tullulah’s had a very rustic feel to it. The restaurant isn’t too wide, but it’s very long narrow ways. It’s perfect location in walking distance to everything else on the main street. I parked on the street, but I believe they do have a parking lot. Since it’s winter time I don’t recommend anybody sitting in the back on the right-hand side because employees are constantly opening the door to go back there. No idea why. The food portions were extremely small. But it was all so delicious. I got the Truffle Arancini, which are really good«cheese balls», I guess. You get a small dish the size of your palm basically, and about 5 of them? The mussels with a side of bread, drowned in their watery«sauce» — delicious! Potato Gnocci, filled with mushrooms(if you don’t like mushrooms, I don’t recommend it) but that was really great. Normally I take pictures, but this time I didn’t get to unfortunately! It’s nice inside, the workers were all great. At the end they give you your check in a journal-like book that mocks a «guest book». Pretty neat idea! I wouldn’t come here again though, I eat way too much for their portion sizes. Everything totaled out to be $ 40.

The updated and expanded Tullulah’s takes their small craft eatery and blows it up without missing a beat! It’s pretty modern, with unfinished floors but lots of ironwork and art. From the bourgeois bathrooms to the truck garden along the backyard(thankfully with a large covered portion to protect from the relentless sun), this place screams hip. If all it did was scream, who would want to listen to it though? Listen to everyone here — from the bartender to the server to the people who will insist you order certain items when you tell them you’re going here. The cocktail program is out of sight — innovative and accessible potions that compliment the current menu(whatever it is) and season. The beer list is likewise constantly rotating and features local items selected with care contrasted with more exotic options. Any restaurant brave enough to keep Goose Island Bourbon County Stout on tap — and then sell OUT of it — is doing it right by my book! Although the menu changes, there are some perennial favorites such as the Gouda mac and cheese(still cannot replicate it at home), the chorizo, the mussels, and crème brûlée that of which one should be included on SOMEONE’S list at some point when you go. Usually all 4 are on mine, and then some… Brunch is likewise damn good here. I personally go for the lemmon poppy pancakes when available.(Chicken and waffle here was my only letdown, but it’s been a letdown in EVERY place I’ve ever been to so what am I missing about chicken & waffles?!) The last listening here to be done is by the employees, owners, and fellow patrons as you have a chance to write in their autograph book that accompanies the check. Even if you don’t browse through the pages while you contemplate what to write(the pressure!!!), just feel the heft of it and know that little book has seen a LOT of good meals.

I go back n forth with this place, I’ve had great things here, I’ve had awful things her, and I’ve had everything in between; My review has changed over the years; this place was better when they were a closet that just served sandwiches. Everything I liked last night, I’ve had much better somewhere else. Walking in and sitting down you get a good feeling and a good sense that everything is going to work out real well… This isn’t exactly the case. Service was medioker at best, and I only give it that much credit because the waitress was at least nice, despite them all being quite inattentive and forgetful. Three different waiters forgot the lemons we asked for at least 4 or 5 times, but more importantly, let’s move on to the food everyone raves about. It’s tapas, I get that but tullulah’s fakes it. The steak, was 40% in edible, trust me I even tried eating the giant chunks of hard chewy fat hoping maybe it was at least buttery and would complement the meat, no, not at all, bad bad idea. The duck was great, good dish for sure, as was the fried poached egg, but there was certainly no flash, and I wasn’t able to detect the«drizzle of truffle oil» at all. It all seemed like stuff I’d make at home, only a cheap, quick, imatation way; The Gouda Mac n cheese was good, but more so just seemed like Kraft elbow Mac, and a decent Gouda cheese sauce that doesn’t impress. Most things we had were fine. They were good… But when going to a nice spot like this, you expect more… I don’t mind blowing money if the food jumps out, but all this food did was fall short and I’m so so so disappointed. I really had high hopes. At the end if your meal, your check will come in a little book where they want you to leave a cute little message, all but one that I noticed were rave reviews… The other was just some immature moron telling the waitress to take her top off or something. I’m surprised and a little bothered that tullulah’s is as big of a hit as it seems to be, I had a pretty plain-jane meal, and mildly poor service. Oh and the truffle fries– not great either In comparison to just about anywhere I’ve had similar dishes I’d go to the other spot(which again I’m actually sad to say, because upon walking in I really liked the vibe, the art, the crowd, and the damn sign out front) Oh well. Worth the try… I guess… Maybe… Eh. ^^^^^ since then I’ve had all better experiences but not al fantastic. Not the place I’d choose to go over another :( (Below I found my review of the place they opened as, if at all interested) — – 13 Apr, 2009 — – Clockworks got it. Indeed, when you walk in, you are shocked(if you knew nothing of this place beforehand) there isn’t some chill, pub style bar with a funky décor. Instead, you are in a walk in closet, with less frills, however it is all you can hope for and more from a simple take out place; It is certainly fresh n’ tasty and truly worth a shot. I’ll be going back to try something different very soon. Now, just so you know, the menu is going through a renewal process, so let’s cross our fingers we don’t lose our favorites.

Attended a wedding dinner party that was excellent. Every dish from the pork belly, pickled watermelon, and cheese plates were so memorable. Very nice service and the servers were very knowledgeable about the apps they passed around. I had a real appreciation for the ambience. Great outdoor space. Chalk board walls with cool illustrations. The big winner was beer selection. Yum! Milk stout from left hand on tap. Knee deep — lupulin river. Awesome IPA w complexity and citrus. Very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. I would like to come back and try the regular menu. No real criticisms. Very impressive.

Amazing!!! I have lived in Bay Shore for years… at one point south of main a few blocks down from here and I cannot believe we had never eaten here before. We decided to try it out since my brother and sis in law raved about it. Our waiter was awesome… he recommended some great dishes. We started with the arancini we loved the sauce. Next we had the chorizo with baked apples… this is seriously a MUST have… I think I will always order this dish(since it is always on their changing menu) next we had the scallops and I never eat scallops I’m just not a fan, but these were delicious! We finished off our night with a bone in rib eye for two… it was cooked perfectly and we also had the Mac and cheese which was delicious. Cannot wait to go back!

I’ve been looking forward to coming to this place for months on end. Every time I walked by and tried for dinner, it was always packed and I couldn’t go. I finally popped in for lunch with mom, here’s the details. Décor: This place is so dark and dreary that we almost walked right past it because it looked closed. I’m not understanding what the hype is over the minimalist interior design. This place literally looks like it’s still under construction, or an old abandoned warehouse. Dingy, dark, almost funeral home-esque interior. We had to sit by a window because sitting anywhere else looked depressing. Minimal design? Ok, I guess. But, why all the praise for doing absolutely close to nothing in the design? It almost looks lazy and it’s confusing, looks very much under construction or a haunted house. Food: Didn’t opt for any alcohol this time around(miracles do happen, kindly pick your jaw up from off the floor people.) My lunch was KICKASS! Possibly, no, definitely, the BEST grilled cheese I’ve ever had! First of all, a creamy heap of BRIECHEESE?! Amazing! Sliced apples inside? Even better. Apple cider caramelized onions? Nailed it. If you love Brie or grilled cheese and you don’t get this, you’re doing an injustice! I opted for the truffle fries and once again Tullulah’s nailed it! The truffle flavor was delicately balanced on each fry and these were absolutely perfectly made. You would be surprised how many places offer truffle fries on their menu, but mess them up completely. Tullulah’s fries were perfect. For one of the first times in my life, I finished EVERYTHING on my plate. Delicious. Now that I finished my plate, it was time to eat a solide ¾ths of my mom’s side dish, the celery root slaw. AMAZING. Crunchy, creamy, tangy, incredible. Wish I could have it every day for lunch! Did not think I would like this so much, and I loved it. My mom loved it to, and yet let me eat most of hers. Here’s why I can’t be a mom. I would never be selfless enough to let my child eat something I love so much, my celery root slaw. My mom ordered the Gringo Loco Burrito. She found it to be decent, the rice inside of it was good. She liked my grilled cheese much better. Service was excellent, patient, and helpful. I truly enjoyed my experience here, it was excellent. But I’m not seeing the WOWWWWWW factor that so many people are posting about. Will have to come back for dinner/small plates and re-review! I’m sure there’s lots of interesting items to be served there!

Tullulahs, I love you. Firstly, would like to state that this place def gets confused with Tula kitchen(vegan place) Bc everyone I spoke with about coming here were literally like… Isn’t that place vegan? NO! This place is amazing and not vegan! Although I do enjoy Vegan as well… This place is like it was transplanted from Brooklyn into Bay Shore… It’s pretty amazing. The décor really made me miss Living in the city, I was nostalgic … The interior of this place is awesome. Dimly lit and open space, tables near the window, a nice bar area and I’m certain I saw a room behind the hostess for a larger, private party. Outside seating was what got me, it’s so cute and very brooklynishhhh. We dined outside and had the arancini, chorizo with apples, crispy fried oysters(compliments of the chef!), scallops, and, summer pasta… Every single thing we devoured was extremely flavorful and nice and light! The scallops and Summer pasta were perfect for the summer night. They were so meaty and cooked right on point, very fresh. The summer pasta(which is homemade fettuccine) with cut veggies and 4 whole body clams In this light butter sauce, I highly recommend it. Obviously, our starters were more mainstreamed in the sense that it appears everyone from Unilocal orders them. They were life changing lol… The combo of the apples with chorizo was like a party in my mouth with just one bite and the arancini. I mean who doesn’t like a rice ball in a delicious sheeps milk fondue??? Loved the crispy fried oysters which were compliments of the chef, making it so much better ! And to finish we had the peach strawberry bread pudding with fresh whipped cream. I thought this place did a really good job with the presentation and the food was amazing, I’ve already told so many people about it! Shout out to our waiter Brendan for helping us settle our indecisive ass minds and leave full and satisfied! $ 80 for the 5 dishes we ordered and 2 glasses of wine, it was well worth it.
