Kupcake Kouture

Maybe they have good cupcakes but the service sucks.
We ordered 80 cupcakes for birthday party which was supposed start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. We specified with the lady who took our order that we need the cupcakes to be delivered no later than 1:00 p.m. Well we got them at 1:45 p.m. when our guests were arriving which created a lot of distraction. Not to mention that the woman who delivered them gave us an attitude. We never ordered from them again.

I went in to order cupcakes for my daughter’s bridal shower. The staff was very helpful. They gave me books to look through. I was not pressured or rushed. Diane, the owner came in while I was looking and helped me personally. She looked at the invitation for the shower and the wedding colors and came up with a design that I loved. They gave me a sample of the cupcake and it was delicious. They have also recently added Mac & Cheese to their menu so I thought I would try one. I grabbed the Lobster Mac & Cheese and took it home for dinner. It was off the hook fabulous! Very rich and creamy with great flavor. Would highly recommend this business! I will definitely be back!

Party at work last Friday. It totally snuck up on me and the quick solution was a couple of dozen cupcakes. I’m scoring lots of cupcake points with my co-​workers with this batch from Kupcake Kouture. Thank God these guys have got really reasonable prices. Buying them in NYC would have cost a bundle. I saved a bundle and in my honest opinion, they are much better than Magnolia Bakery.

Ordered cupcakes for my daughters birthday. With a twist — needed a vegan and a sugar free cupcake. KK was very very helpful with the request and came through. A little of confusion when I went to pick up the cupcakes (my daughter was questioning why we were leaving with out them) but they delivered into Jersey City so all is well. Thank you!

I really wanted to like this place. I love to support local businesses. The shop is cute, the décor is nice, the service is friendly, but the cupcakes are meh.

I bake. I bake a lot. I am picky, and my kids are picky. If someone makes an excellent cupcake I’ll be the first to give them kudos, but these were odd. They taste like an industrial mix, and the frosting tastes plastic. It’s not hard to make a good buttercream frosting, so I don’t get it. I tried this place when it first opened, chalked my then-​disappointing cupcake up to opening stress, but here we are all this time later and I really can’t recommend the cupcakes.
The cupcakes are sizable, lovely to look at, but I didn’t enjoy them. We tried a variety of flavors, slicing them up for the family, but everyone had the same reaction to them. They were disappointing. Prices (2.25 & up) are comparable to the NYC cupcake boutiques.
I will definitely give the owner credit for being a local supporter of charities, schools, etc. She is a community member, but I really am disappointed with the cupcakes. I think my favorites in NJ (so far) are at Confections of a Rock Star in Asbury, but who the heck has time to drive down there? I’m better off baking.

Reading the previous review — and the fact I’ve never written a poor review of any establishment — I’m hesitant to submit this here, but alas… it is just my honest opinion.
I’m sure the lady who operates this adorable bakery is very nice. I see mentions of her in the town paper and undoubtedly, thriving small businesses are good for Bayonne. I’ve never met her; both times I’ve visited, there has been a young lady behind the counter. That being said: I’m not sure what or why, but these cupcakes taste odd. The cake portion was fine, soft without falling apart, crumbly without being dry. The frosting… erm, not so much. We tried a few different flavors — chocolate, vanilla and then also red velvet, peanut butter chocolate and one other, (had a lemony cake, not sure what flavor was called), on the second visit. Regardless of the flavor, they just tasted off. At first, I thought perhaps we’d gotten an odd sampling or perhaps the ‘end of the day’ variety, so we returned and bought three more another time with similar results.
If other people like them — awesome! Maybe it’s just us? In any case, I love cupcakes but these just weren’t my stylee.

OMG the best Kupcakes ever, love love love Diane, she is just what Bayonne needed a family owned business that cares. The cupcakes were some of the best I ever had, the store is decorated so cute and they even have WIFI.
