I ordered a cake from this bakery for my son’s 1^st birthday. It was a pineapple cake. I asked them if they can put the fresh pineapple in there they were like yes why not. They charged me $ 38 for that. But When I got the cake it wasn’t good at all, it smells so bad. there were no fresh pineapple in there and I really don’t know what kind of fruit they put in the cake because the taste was nasty. I felt so embarrassed in front of my guest and I have no other option at that time. They ruined my son’s 1^st birthday. I would never recommend their cakes to anyone.

A friend from Bayonne came for dinner on Saturday evening and brought a huge round chocolate cake from this bakery for dessert.
It was outrageously delish!!! 4 different kinds of chocolate and you can actually taste each one individually. From the dark chocolate ganache on the outside to moist Devils food cake inside with a light chocolate mousse filling the layers and topping it off dark chocolate curls on the sides. Not overly sweet and everyone loved it!
So fresh that the next day I had an end piece and it was just as moist as if it came from the middle. Definitely will visit on next trip to Bayonne and will highly recommend to everyone. It is nice to know that there are still «real» bakeries out there!!!

Vowwww we recently ordered cake for our son’s 2^nd birthday. It was just awesome everyone loved the cake.
We wanted a cars theme and we provided them with the picture and it came exactly the way we wanted.

Excellent never had a bad cake or pastry. They made my daughter and son in laws cake it was to die for! Highly reccomended

I stopped in for a dessert to bring with me to a friend’s house. They had a large selection of cakes and pastries to choose from that were ready to go. Usually I’m skeptical by such a bountiful offering, but the cake I settled on was moist and fresh! It had white cake and chocolate fudge icing. A previous reviewer was right about it being quite sweet, but with a little black coffee it was perfect. I wish I hadn’t stuffed myself at dinner… I could have easily eaten half that cake myself.
Bummer street parking is so tough. I guess that’s the neighborhood.

I asked them if they can make a Banana Cream Pie for my son’s birthday, since that was his request, after checking, the lady advised me that they can and I ordered it 5 days in advance. It was just terrible. I felt so bad for my son, the pie was just not tasty, he didn’t manage to eat more that 3 bites. I love banana cream pie and couldn’t eat it. The pie didn’t taste like bananas and the whipped cream (which they put a huge amount of) had no flavor. Very disappointing.

This rating is ONLY for the DONUTS.
My favorite donuts ever! But get there early because the donuts sell out by early afternoon.
The rest of the sweets are mediocre at best.
And the cheesecake varieties are pretty awful unfortunately.
But, great prices and great service.

I have had many pastries produced at Paulantos since I first found them. That has been for over ten years. I needed a special cake celebrating my 70^th. And my son’s 40^th birthdays. I love trains and my son loves cars. I asked Saad to do something with those two themes. It was fantastic. Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. Delicious. All the guests there thrilled with Saad’s creation.

We got a variety of cake slices there… They were all way too sweet and lacking in flavor.
The rum cake didn’t taste of rum at all, which was really the deciding factor between 2 and 3 stars.

The french delight cake is AMAZING! i rarely eat chocolate cake to begin with, but if someone gave me this cake, i would eat it… all by myself! It is so moist. Its a MUST TRY!

Love the bread sticks. Strawberry fresh cake is great. All donuts here anD IN NJ r ok. Price quality great. Just had a sesame bagel W cream cheese 3 donuts, large coffee for $ 3.50. Super. Dunken I hate u

They made a specialty cake for our priest’s ordination. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture handy but it was the Sistine Chapel of cakes.
EDIT: Wife says «yum. It tasted good too.»

I recently had to come up with a diary free dessert at the last minute for a dinner guest and was pleasantly surprised that Paulanto had cakes and cake slices available. I was told it was for the Jewish Holiday… Lucky me on the timing.
But I also have a niece who is allergic to vitamin D and they can make a cake at my request. Both my guest and niece commented on how good the cakes where, they were so appreciative that I was able to have something for them to enjoy too.
The cake options were an all chocolate layer cake, a chocolate and strawberry cake and another vanilla and glazed pastry which was my favorite. (I had to try them too)

This place is awesome hands down! When I lived in Bayonne I stumbled upon them and haven’t stop going back since! I always or either cake or cupcakes for any of my events and have never had a problem with them. I will continue to do business with them. the staff is always friendly, which is a plus on top of already excellent service!

Best bakery in the area, hands down. Pastries are fresh, prices are reasonable and service is fast and friendly.

My family and I have been coming to Paulanto’s since we moved to Bayonne, November 2012. My daughters love their cupcakes, my wife and I, their cannoli and tarts. For my wife’s birthday, I decided to order a specialty cake. Saad was great at listening and implementing what I wanted for her «Candy Crush» cake. My wife, daughters and guests loved the cake, aside from looking great it was very «Tasty» and «Delicious». Thank you Saad everything came out great!

The best part about this place is their vegan cakes and cookies because you can’t even tell that they are. Seriously super delicous.

I feel bad for the folks that live near Paulantos… because if you are within a block of this place, the scent of the wonderful baked goods will drag you inside. Seriously. This place is so great! Not only are the cakes, pies, and pastries super yummy — but the staff is always very attentive and super professional. I’ve ordered a custom half sheet cake from here. They had so many choices to put together a cake — I couldnt decide. The countergirl was very insightful and patient with me as I was deciding how to create the cake… and in the end, it came out soooo good. The prices are great, the service is amazing, and the product is beyond good. This place truly is a gem!
