What can I say about McCabes, except I really wanted to like it. The place is a dive. The clientele has seen better decades, but instead of trying to attract new customers, the caveman owner insists on insulting potential new customers. Here’s my issue, you don’t up the price of the same drink after first round because you think I can afford it. Really bad business, clueless owner. Clearly not worthy of my business. Felt bad for old man bartender who had to tell me that price had changed. What a joke. This is a place to skip. Imagine working in a dive and working for a loser. Stay in school kids.

Great place, formerly the Mayo House, but new and improved. Marty is great. I used to go to the Lismore but now the Mayo house is my spot with Tommy G. and John P. and Bob and his transvestite lover. Thank you.

Wow, so I’m the first to review this place. I’m not very surprised to be perfectly honest. McCabe’s looks worse on the outside than it actually is inside, so I was pretty surprised that it actually wasn’t a complete shady dump when I walked in. It’s just a bare bones neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other right under the train tracks at the Auburndale station. I stopped in here last weekend while waiting for the train to arrive. Drinks were strong and the bartender was friendly. What more do you really need?
