Not recommended for a late night snack unless you feel like waiting in the parking lot for 20 minutes. It was after 9pm and they didn’t not have any chicken available

I’ll give this a 3 only because it is so clean it is ridiculous. Seriously. Reasons for not more than a 3 are: employee’s sitting around the restaurant talking and hanging around outside. Cold food. Except for the Spice level, there was no flavor at all. None. If I were blindfolded, I would not be able to tell you if this was chicken or whatever else may have went into that oil basket. My kids didn’t even eat it. Well, the biscuits they ate. That’s it. The chicken strips were just that… Strips. A thin shred of meat between the discolored crust. Yes, getting out of there and back on the road was bad but I went there for some good Louisiana chicken. I won’t go back.

My wife and I ate lunch there today. The food was barely room temperature. Within an hour we were both feeling sick. Now we both have full fledged food poisoning. Will never eat there again.

In short — I’m not impressed. Popeyes has been my chicken place of choice since about the mid 1990s. It used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken but their chicken started looking really nasty back in the 90s. I have been to this Popeyes only a couple times — I will most likely not go back. The food is not fantastic but it is acceptable. The facilities are relatively clean. There is the occasional plastic«wet floor’ sign you need to step around(even though the floor is dry). My two biggest complaints are: 1. Getting back on the road after you leave 2. Treatment by the employees 1. If you are heading north on 17 — great! You should have no problem getting in and out. If you are going in any other direction, south on 17, east or west on 28 — forget it! Out of the three corners at that intersection that have businesses this is the only one with one entrance and one exit. You can only get in from 17 north and you can only exit to 17 north. It doesn’t seem like there was a lot of thought put into the traffic plan. How about putting in an entrance and exit to 28? 2. Employees — as mentioned in several other reviews, «customer service isn’t always the best.» The employees I have interacted with have been inattentive and somewhat rude. The last time I was there I must have waited at the counter for 2 – 3 minutes with no one else in front of me. There were three employees behind the counter — none at the register. I was reviewing the menu on the large board behind them when one of them finally was ready to take my order with an abrupt«eat in or carry out». I asked about the chicken only options as they were not on the menu. She mumbled something about that then indicated they had an 8 piece and a 12 piece. The 8 piece was $ 12.99! Really? Have chicken prices exploded recently? I realize that all food prices are going up but less than 5 years ago a 6 piece was $ 3.99, then it went to $ 4,99 and finally to $ 5.99. Now they don’t even offer it? So why isn’t «chicken only» on the menu? They must be so ashamed of the prices that they will only whisper it. And a 2-piece meal(with tax and without drink) is over $ 6! Really? And the size of the chicken — it used to be that a drumstick was really a drumstick. Now it looks more like a wing. Did chickens shrink in size or is it just me? I did not order anything this time. I just turned around and left. Then had to spend an extra 5 minutes getting back on the road in the direction I wanted to go. As mentioned earlier, I am done with this place. And possibly all Popeyes. I may go back and give Kentucky Fried Chicken a try again.

I’ve been here a handful of times and I think it deserves 3 stars. The customer service isn’t always the best, but the staff at the Culpeper Popeyes is WAY worse(check out my review there for that). I’ve noticed a wait for chicken seems to be standard for Popeyes. Maybe they have a weird company policy about not cooking too much in advance? I, too, have had to wait on several occasions at different Popeyes. I personally think the food tastes pretty good, which sometimes is half the battle. Anyway, I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it, but I wouldn’t tell you to avoid it either. Just know what could happen.

Walked in. Cashier says all the chicken is going to be at least a 13 minute wait because they’re closing. And believe me it wasnt in a nice way either. I am a local person and they just are horrible everytine I try the place. Yuck.

I went to this Popeye’s on a Friday night not long before they closed. It had been a long time since I had been to any Popeye’s, so I ordered more variety than I normally would. The potatoes/gravy, red beans & rice, biscuits, and chicken were all good. Didn’t care for the cajun rice at all. Asked for ‘no wings’ — got home — one wing in the box. I would go back — its about a 14 mile(round) trip for me.

Don’t go if u need to turn around quickly back to your route. When you exit this place you have to travel about a mile to make a u– turn to get back on the road you were on.
