This is one on my favorite places to go for breakfast,(any time of the day) when I don’t feel like cooking. The portions are great and you can’t beat the price. They don’t have the typical diner smell which is great. The waitress staff is great and pleasant. Today we arrived after 12 which is when they cut off the waffle machine. They accommodated us and turned the machine back on so that he could have his Belgian waffles.

Went there with my mom during Christmas week. Arrived to find that during prime dinner time, there was exactly 1 other person in the place. Walked in, took 2 breaths, and immediately turned around and walked right back out again. The smell was horrible, moldy carpet mixed with food steamrolled into it. We can’t recommend this place at all from what we saw/smelled! Oh, and the cakes looked like they’d been in the case for a VERY long time too!

The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. They gave daily weekday specials and a very nice portion.

Just an average diner. Nothing too spectacular. Looks a bit dirty from the few times I’ve eaten in.

Clean Diner and good food. Got a spinach omelet with provolone. The spinach wasn’t fresh spinach but I’m not surprised… I don’t think diners typically have fresh spinach. The potatoes were really crispy which I love! Waitress was pleasant. If we lived in the area we’d go again.

I dropped something under the booth, and when I crawled underneath the table to get it, I noticed the cleanest restaurant floor I’ve ever encountered. Pretty impressive, especially for a diner. The food is good diner food. I’ve only had omelettes, but the lunch/dinner food looks tasty. Nice servers and the owner/manager seems to treat the staff with respect. Definitely stop in for a quick meal if you’re in the area.

My husband and I go there at least once a week, sometimes more, for breakfast. It has great food for a great price. The staff is friendly and have gotten to know our likes and will accommodate them as necessary. We have eaten there a couple of times for lunch and dinner. The rest of the menu is good diner food as well.

Formerly Park West Diner, the Route 40 Diner is a casual diner serving breakfast(anytime), lunch, and dinner at very reasonable prices. The place has a classic homey feel with counter seating and ample booths and tables. There’s also a back room with a colorful Kenny Rogers mural too! The menu has quite a selection of food offerings here. The breakfast offerings consist of eggs, omelettes, pancakes, French toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, hash, cereal, and breakfast sides. The lunch/dinner offerings include salads, salad bar, soups, sandwich platters, wraps, paninis, hoagies, gyros, burgers, pasta dinners, steaks, chicken, chops, seafood, comfort dishes, and desserts(puddings, ice cream, cakes, pies). They offer 13 breakfast specials($ 5.99 or less) served Mon-Fri 6AM-11AM(except holidays), 15 lunch specials($ 5.99 each) served Mon-Fri 11AM-3PM, and 14 dinner specials for $ 9.99 each which come with soup or salad. They offer all you can eat chicken & dumplings($ 8.99) on Wednesday nights. See the menus and specials at I stopped at the Route 40 Diner for dinner recently. I ordered a Diet Coke($ 1.99) and the #6 Lasagna Parmigiana($ 9.99) with a cup of beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup had soft egg noodles, potatoes, ground beef in a tomato base broth, saltine crackers on the side. The Lasagna was served very hot in a baked casserole dish, which had layers of soft noodles, cheeses(ricotta/mozzarella), tomato sauces, and ground beef, buttered garlic toast on the side(from kaiser buns). I passed on dessert since I had enough to eat. The check total was $ 11.98 before tip, no meals tax in DE! The service here was pretty good and prompt. I was given 2 additional free refills on the Diet Coke. Pay the check at the front register after dining.
