There are times when you are at the beach and all you want to do is go to the classic surf shop. This is the place you need to go to when you’re at the beach in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. You will find classic surf shop standbys like flip-flops, T-shirts, rash guard shirts, surf shorts, sunglasses, Puka bead necklaces and of course shark tooth necklaces. What else could you ask for? The owner Tony is always there and you can find him behind the counter. He’ll give you a complementary cold water when you’re hot and your kids a free ice cream to make them happy. He’s a real friendly guy and the local high school kids he has working there are real friendly too. Go in with a great attitude and you will be rewarded with a classic beach experience even if you don’t find anything hat strikes your fancy.

I’m usually not one for buying too many souvenirs when I travel particularly of the Made In China kind, nonetheless, my husband’s desire for a Beaufort baseball hat and my interest in buying some post cards, led us to this store. We were in for a treat if only for the super friendly folks who work there who were up for a chat with us while we browsed. There is certainly a lot to choose from here; the store is quite large. And if there is anything at all that you desire to bring home with you with the name of any of the local towns in Beaufort County written on them, then you’ve found your place. T-shirts, mugs, magnets, shorts, sweatshirts, shot glasses, costume jewelry; you know, all the typical souvenir stuff. It’s harmless fun and the prices here are reasonable. As well, if you forgot your sunglasses or sunscreen(and believe me, you need both those things for sure here), stop on by. My husband got a great deal on two baseball hats emblazoned with the name of this town and I got some postcards to send to family and friends. We like the store, the people who work in it and I am sure we’ll visit it again.
