Went here with my wife for her birthday while on vacation at the beach. We both had the specials(yellowfin and grouper) along with drinks, an appetizer(fried green tomatoes), and dessert(crème brûlée). The food was amazing, everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance was nice. There is nothing I can say negatively about our experience!

Absolutely love this place Had the grilled local Tuna rare. Fish was preparation was perfect. Accompanied with a veggie risotto which was very good as well. Service was very good and quick even though they were crowded. We fish the Big Rock every year and make sure we spend one open evening at the Blue Moon. A must visit if you are in Beaufort

Came here for a splurge vacation dinner. They had two specials for the evening: a tuna dish with lobster risotto and a cobia dish with pasta and my mushroom sauce. This food was amazing. PERFECTLY cooked which I think is rare for restaurants to do well.(Pun intended: I like my tuna rare). If this restaurant wasn’t so nice, I’d have licked the extra mushroom sauce off the cobia plate. The service was also very good. We actually left our credit card there and they called us let us know to come back and get it as they had my number from making the reservation. I thought that was really nice and helpful! It seemed that the place filled up quickly after we got there so call ahead. This is a great place for a fancy dinner then a nice walk along the water. Nice place. The only thing I wish they had but didn’t is a cocktail menu, however the wine list looked extensive but I don’t really drink wine so I can’t comment. Anyway, I’d go back if I have a chance.

We love this place and tonight was another great meal and service with friends and family while staying in Salter Path. From salad to desert everything was delicious. We will be back.

Our dinner was excellent. We each got one of the seafood specials, one was tuna and one trigger fish. They were both very nicely seasoned, and the toasted vegetables were very good also. The hickory smoked fries were awesome! Service was great. The only downside was the price. The specials weren’t written on the menu, and we didn’t ask the price when we ordered. Unilocal had it rated as $$ so I was surprised when the price for each entrée was $ 35! The food was great, but we could have gotten equally good food at a lower price elsewhere.

More reputation, less reality. Last night I went with a party of six for my first time at the BMB. They put three tables together to put us all in a row. The tables did not fit. There was an annoying gap between myself and my friends table. The chairs were small and not real comfortable. I understand that the bistro gets nice ratings, probably based on BFT folks being told it is a good place. Here is the deal. I had the shrimp creole with sausage. Twenty six dollars. I am a very good cook. I get food. I could have made this meal at home for around four or five dollars maximum. The rooms were noisy and it was annoying to just sit and have regular discussions with the folks we were with. I was OK with my drink selection, however two of the people in the group just backed off what they wanted due to not having normal beers and martinis. So I was very disappointed in general. I had high expectations that were shattered by pretty much regular food being passed off as a great place to have a special night. Seriously folks, go to Ruddy Duck or Clawsons and save a few bucks. Have an enjoyable meal and not have to sit in annoying chairs and tables. When I go to a nice place and spend the kind of cash on a meal, I expect to feel pampered and comfortable. This was like sitting at tables like at Cox’s Family Restaurant or the place next door. Don’t buy in to the food is so amazing that the accommodations do not matter. I want everything to be perfect at this level. And seriously I will make the same shrimp creole at home for five bucks. I

We were staying across the street for a weekend and made a reservation for dinner here. The service was great(our waitress was very friendly) and the ambiance/décor was very nice and cozy. The food was of good portion sizes – enough for us to have our own dessert afterwards and still not feel stuffed. And while the food was good, it was not quite up to par for the price.

This was our first time to Blue Moon. It was outstanding… The Grouper special over ravioli was scrumptious. The atmosphere was great. And the town itself was quite nice to stroll around after dinner. I would high recommend Blue Moon. It gate it four because I don’t know how to do 4 ½ on this site. It’s really great…, but 5 stars, not quite.

My husband and I were passing through after spending the day on the Outer Banks. We were pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. We celebrated our anniversary by buying one of our favorite Napa wineries(Kunde) bottle! It was so neat to see it here! The food was good(smaller portions) and my husband partook in the crème brule which he labeled as amazing. It came with the world’s smallest(but yummy) brownie. The location is in a charming, quaint house. A good place for a nice dinner – just like people have mentioned before me, just know the prices can be a little steep.

Incredible! Went here for a night out with work friends and had a delicious meal and a wonderful time. They staff were great, serving us, a rowdy group of about 13! They were patient with our orders and were extremely accommodating! Food: delicious! I had the soft shell crabs and let me tell you, they were cooked to perfection. The batter was to die for, almost like eating a funnel cake! Every single person in our group loved their meal! Dessert is not to be missed… The cheesecake and crème brûlée were some if the best I’ve ever tasted! This is a MUSTEAT place if you are in Eastern North Carolina!

Excellent food. Get reservations for the weekend. The place is small and fills up fast. Guests skew older. Dinner for two, with two appetizers and two desserts, was about $ 125. We did not order drinks so adjust prices accordingly if you plan to.

This was a great find. Food and service were top notch. Prices reasonable. We would return any time when in Beaufort, or Morehead City.

We went here with two other couples and EVERYBODY loved the food here! The service was spectacular. The ambiance was great. Everything about this place was great! Now you are gonna pay for all that greatness, but i thought it was definitely worth it. A bottle of wine, appetizer, two entrée’s, & desert: $ 150 w/tax-n-tip. We can highly recommend the Tuna & Triggerfish with lobster ravioli. But the fried oysters may have been the best item on the menu! And crem brûlée to finish it all off!!!

We usually never miss Beaufort Grocery when we are in town, but Blue Moon Bistro may have stolen the top spot! The grouper special over ricotta ravioli with green beans was amazing. After looking at the dessert options, we decided to forgo any of the appetizers, so I can’t comment on those. But the caramel cocoa cake with turbinado sugar ice cream was perfect. The cake was super moist and I could eat that ice cream every day. It tasted like a light caramel. Great little place! Call for reservations because it is definitely little!

Beyond delicious, well spiced and cooked perfectly to order, quick and knowledgeable service. We drove 40 minutes from Emerald Isle, and it was well worth the drive. My rare yellow fin tuna was firm but still melted in my mouth, and the sauce and veggies complemented it perfectly. The crabcakes were fall-apart-in-your-mouth divine with an excellently textured, zesty cocktail sauce. The desserts, caramel-chocolate cake and the flour-free chocolate cake with sorbet, were just the right amount of sweet, the homemade ice cream rich and creamy. Cannot recommend enough!

Appetizers — Order the crab cake, it is great… and an order of the scallops– so wonderful we used the bread to soak up the sauce. Oh, and the bread, another hit. Service — Very friendly. Made us feel at home. Entrees — Grouper special was a tasteful mix of flavor. The shrimp scamp is a must have… light, yet full if flavors. Not only a recommendation, a must do for future nights out.

My husband and I recently moved our boat to Beaufort and we decided to check out some restaurants we hadn’t tried there. The grouper special was outstanding. Wonderfully plated with garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked with asparagus. A feat, in my experience, when it comes to fish. Dessert, a pecan tarte was just average with a heavy chewy crust, but the fish more than made up for it. The only reason I hesitate to give 5 stars was the service. Our waiter was very nice, but the food came so quickly we barely had time to relax. Fine for lunch when you need to get back to work, but dinner, especially at an upscale restaurant? My husband hadn’t finished his wine before dessert arrived. And we’re taking good wine(they have a great high quality selection). I write this in hopes that the next time we come(and we will come again), we’ll be given adequate time to relax and enjoy the excellent food. A great dining experience is me where you can take time to savor both the company and the food.

Exceptional food and exceptional service. Again we didn’t have a reservation but they are more than willing to accommodate a walk in at the bar or with 2 tables by the bar. We ate there on both Friday and Saturday nights of Labor Day weekend. Delicious!

You know you’re at the beach when you’re in a nice restaurant and in walks a guy in a three piece suit, tie, and flip flops! Great entertainment and excellent food! Blue Moon is located a block off the water in and old house with the original wood floors and tin ceiling… Tons of character. Service was attentive and friendly. Our waitress was great. The wine list was very nice and had a wide range of prices and styles. We started by sharing a Caesar salad that our server was nice enough to place into two bowls. It was a nice salad but nothing amazing. I had the Tuna special. A nice tuna fillet grilled to a perfect medium rare. It was served over a bed of mashed potato and fresh succotash. The tuna was tasty, the potatoes yummy, and the succotash great. I’ve never had fresh succotash. My wife had the pan seared grouper which was a nice portion served over two fresh ravioli with a side of small asparagus. It too was excellent. We didn’t try desert but they had a number of good looking options. This is definitely a must do while at the beach
