The BBQ pork quesadilla was so yummy! All of our food was so good and the customer service was phenomenal!

My husband has family in this area and every time we visit, Clawson’s is always on our«must eat there» list. They get their seafood from local fishermen and you can definitely tell by the freshness of their food! They have some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had and their flounder is easily the best I’ve ever eaten. The service has always friendly, the portion sizes are large, and the restaurant itself has always been clean every time we’ve been. The buffalo shrimp is also really good as an appetizer! We have had some pretty poor experiences at other local seafood places in the area(namely The Sanitary) but we have continually been impressed with Clawson’s. If you’re in the area, make sure this is one of the restaurants you go to! It’s always a highlight of our trips to the area!

I love clawsons and have been going here for years. I always get the half chicken salad sandwich and a cup of seafood bisque. The reason I’m not leaving 5 stars is because for whatever reason they decided to take the chicken salad off, I was so disappointed. As we were waiting for our food, I heard 4 other tables ask for the chicken salad only to be disappointed as well! Why was this taken off if it’s that popular?

We stopped in for lunch and were seated immediately, expected being the offseason. I got a lunch basket of fried shrimp and chips while others in our party had fried oysters, quesadillas, club sandwiches and clam chowder. Portions were good, but could have been slightly larger. My shrimp came perfectly lightly breaded and crispy– just the way I like them. The house made chips were a little flavorless, but worked as a non-fries side. It was a pleasant experience and I look forward to stopping by again.

Had the fish n chips and it was incredible! There was a live band which was a lot of fun. We had our four kids with us and our waitress had 6 kids so she very patient and did an outstanding job. Came after Labor Day in September so it was not crowded. Really enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back next year.

Went here last night while on a short trip in Beaufort. Walked in and we were seated right away. As soon as we sat down, our very friendly waitress, Stephanie greeted us with a smile and and took our drink order. The atmosphere was rustic and the restaurant was very clean. Stephanie returned and gave us the dinner specials for the night. We opted for the Mahi, Sirloin and scollop dinner. It definitely was a good choice and was plenty for the two of us to share. The only flaw I noticed was the presentation of the dish. A little more color/garish would have made it more appealing. However, that did not effect the taste of the dish. If you are in the area, I recommend giving this place a shot! And hopefully you have the same wonderful experience as we did

Many menu items that were favs are now gone or less tasty. Is there a new cook? What used to be one of the best downtown restaurants for atmosphere and good food has taken a back seat. The last birthday of about 10 we had there took a very long time for service and the place was not crowded.

Excellent food. Our waitress, Brandy, went above and beyond. I had the pan seared scallops and grilled shrimp over spaghetti squash, Portabella mushroom, sun-dried tomatoes, and wilted greens in a citrus pumpkin broth. My husband had the mixed grill with the sirloin rosemary demi-glaze, Mahi with pineapple salsa, scallops with sweet chili sauce, sautéed veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. These dishes were VERY flavorful. From entering this establishment to checking out, the experience was excellent!

It was run of the mill pub food. The only standout was the polite service and pimento cheese. Some extra kick on the shrimp and grits could have pushed it over the edge.

We had the portabella mushroom burger …it was delicious! Atmosphere was great and our server made sure we were taken care of.

Well, we came after hearing rave reviews from friends. Nice pub atmosphere, good beers and service. Unfortunately that’s where the good news ends. Severely overlooked calamari, soaking wet Mahi wrap with watery dressing draining from the sandwich and a Reuben held together with soggy marble rye bread. Unfortunate experience indeed. Where or where can one find a restaurant that truly has it all? The food here was prepared as though the chef had no pride or care about how his creation turned out. Shame on the chef! Kudos to the waitress and hostess! They were lovely, attentive and apologetic for the inefficiencies of the kitchen. Oh! I almost forgot! The cole slaw was darn good!

Good service, good food, and a nice beer selection. It’s somewhat touristy but I thought it was a good place to grab a bite. We were seated quickly with our reservation and the place was at about 50% capacity. We enjoyed our meal and have no complaints at all… Honestly if the place had better ambiance and more expensive food it could trick yuppies(including me) into paying more.

Clawsons was definitely not bad. I think the fish and chips is really the best thing on the menu. So if you are there, order it. The rest of our food for our group was average. The beer selection is great and they do have some great wine specials. Also, don’t miss the summer tap takeovers, they are super fun.

Two stars is generous for this place. To start, we ordered two cocktails, a margarita and a dark and stormy, that both tasted like dish soap. My husband ordered the burger which he said was cooked ok but didn’t really have any flavor. I ordered the shrimp, scallops, and mahi mahi pasta dish which was comprised of all frozen seafood and box pasta. Totally not worth the money.

Food was great! The atmosphere was pretty awesome and there was no wait for sitting! We placed our order and we didn’t even have to wait long for our food. This was my 2nd time eating shrimp and grits and it was great!

My family was just treated terribly by the management staff. We had a large party and had no problem sitting at different tables. My family eats there every time we go to Beaufort, but that tradition may have just ended. Great food, and they are very popular, but no restaurant should treat customers rudely for simply asking to be seated.

Waited 40 minutes for an average cup of seafood bisque. They get 2 stars because their food didn’t make me sick like the place I had breakfast at did… yet. After I paid my tab with cash the waiter had the audacity to ask if I wanted my change. Never assume you’re getting a tip buddy.

I came here with a party of 12 for dinner during our recent Emerald Isle vacation on May 4, 2015. Clawson’s sat us in the back room and we had total privacy(which was great because we had 5 young children in tow). The food and drinks were fantastic. I also agree that the mango margarita is pretty much the nectar of the Gods! I would love to find the recipe. The fried calamari was wonderful, and the seafood bisque was SO savory! My mouth waters just thinking about the bisque. My entrée was the scallops, shrimp and mahi mahi cavatappi pasta entrée. Delicious! I wish I had more room at that point to eat it all, but the flavors were just fabulous and spot on. Everyone at the table loved their appetizers, cocktails and entrees. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the coast.

After a day on Shackleford Banks, I stopped in at Clawson’s 1905 for a very late lunch. The place has a nice and interesting atmosphere. Ashelyn, my waitress was very helpful and attentive. The Seafood Bisque was very good and loaded with seafood. The Shrimp and Grits were a little unusual with the bacon and mushrooms. They were not too spicy for those who are heat-sensitive. I added a little Tabasco. :-) Sitting here, watching the people walk by my window, I’m glad I took time to visit.

Typical pub type food & flavor. I went with the special, shrimp and grits but I was disappointed. The grits tasted like they’ve been cooking all day, dry and lumpy and they didn’t have any flavor which surprised me because it was the special of the day. I should’ve asked what was the best item on the menu instead. Atmosphere, service, and servers were great and so was the seafood bisque and beer selection.
