I’m from California and never in my life have I had the best miso soup that I had here very fresh and authentic of course it had fish but they also serve tofu. I also ordered a rainbow roll and salmon roll and they also were amazingly delicious. The gentlemen preparing the food is amazing very sweet man too and last what can I say the Chicken Teriyaki the best I’ve ever tasted it’s cooked perfectly tender and so good. I found a new place to eat on Sunday’s

Absolutely terrible. Found a bug in my tea and the miso soup was straight water with tofu in it. Went to this restaurant with my father for dinner, we barely walked in after seeing the atmosphere. Not even sure this place would pass a health inspection!

I really wanted to like this place. Very traditionally set up, and the owner is an incredibly cute ol’ Japanese guy who does do everything himself, but… the place was dirty. You could see there were bug problems and that grosses me out in a restaurant to no end. If you’re going to have your kitchen open to the dining room, it better be sparkling clean. On top of that, the vegetarian sushi I got tasted quite fishy… which is never a good sign in my experience. I wish this place was better, so I could go back and support that cute old man in his little sushi shop, but until the whole place gets a good scrub down I won’t be back.

The sushi was ok. But many of the things we wanted to order was not available. There were many ant-like bugs on our table and his credit card machine was broken so he wanted to write our card number down and charge it later. We won’t be going back.

Wow. Where to begin? This place reminds me of being in Japan which brings back so many great memories. The owner is positively delightful and manages the entire store — he is the owner, chef, kitchen porter, and waiter all in one — much like you’d find in a small shop in a alley on the outskirts of Tokyo. The sushi was very fresh and delicious as were the Yakitori we ordered. The owner was also very accommodating of the Americanized sushi request my wife made. Prices are very reasonable and ran about $ 28 for the both of us; I would have paid double that in Charlotte. Next time we are in the area, we will be back!

Now this is the best sushi in town. Food and service more than make up for the aesthetics.
