I must say I loved their bloody Mary’s & my hubby liked their burger. But don’t go if you’re hungry. We had to sit in the heat as the inside was full. He ordered a burger & I ordered a shrimp cocktail & the shrimp dip. We were there long enough for me to have 4 blood Mary’s & never did get the dip. Of course the shrimp cocktail was great. Impossible to mess up.

This is a sports bar. Don’t get your hopes up for anything more than that, and you’ll be good to go. We stopped in here for a few brews and pub food. We ordered the jalapeño poppers and the crab & shrimp dip. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No. Was it the worst? No. Was it good for what it was? Yes. We got seats around the bar and watched a game. Service was good and the environment was fun for what it’s for.

We had a table of four seated out on the patio. We had the ol’ shift change ordeal where one server had one foot out the door and the new server thought we were finished and didn’t swing by to see if we needed anything until my wife went inside to place a drink order only to be curtly told that she couldn’t place a drink order, a waiter would be with us shortly. Did she mean the waiter that point-blank stared at our table and didn’t approach? The waiter, Jay Bird, did arrive and we ordered 3 beers and two apps for four people. The waiter returned with 3 plates and no utensils. One of the apps were deep fried oysters which is better to have a fork to dip them into the side sauce. Why 3 plates for 4 people? We let it be because we could tell that the wait staff didn’t like trudging up and down the steps to the back patio patrons. There are better spots in the area and you’ll have a better experience.

The hickory smoked wings off the appetizer menu were good and hot(temperature). The jalapeño & cheddar burger was good albeit kind off small but hand-formed. Not enough fries. I’d go back. It was a good late lunch.

Sad food for a great location. The grouper sandwich was not edible. The garlic fries had no flavor. The wings were bland and the BBQ burger was a plain bacon burger. Go somewhere else

I loved Luthers. This is the place to go for good conversation, awesome service & good drinks. We had the French dip & it was soooo good! Scott the bartender was so nice & attentive. We spent several hours here having some drinks due to the great service provided by Scott. You will meet many locals that will assist you in your journeys around the Beaufort area.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday. The blond bartender was extremely rude. The waitress was stressed(restaurant wasnt full) and was not much friendlier. The Nacho Mama appetizer was terrible!!! Big chunk of nasty ceese all balled up, over cooked and no meat. Dont bother… many other places to have a nice enjoyable experience.

Took one hour to get food. Food was terrible and was not what we ordered. Wait staff was good. Only good thing was view. Obvious that they are not concerned about repeat customers

Favorite place when I go downtown. I enjoy going by myself and getting dinner with a beer. Probably wouldn’t go if I was an old local with money.

Solid bar with lots of tvs to watch the bowl games on new year’s day. We were looking for a quick bite to eat and just hang and stumbled upon Luther’s. We easily got a seat at the bar and ordered. The bartender, Scott, was great and very friendly. Food was good. Salad was standard from the bag with a few fresh cukes and grape tomatoes. We got the balsamic vinegrette which was excellent and served on the side. Our pizza was definitely personal sized, as it easily fit on a dinner plate. Standard cheese pie with a thinner crust, good sauce and mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Draft beer was $ 2.50 each which is significantly less than we are used to pay. Appeared to be a good number of locals. By the time we left, the place was practically full, so our timing was great.

The only reason this is getting one star is because this app will not allow me to put 0 stars. If you want to wait an hour and a half for a bad burger and really crappy service this is the place to come. Totally overrated, and should have realized that three stars meant the place was not worth my time

Wings and beer! The shrimp and crab dip was amazing! Great atmosphere! A local hangout! The beer was cold and the wings were great! Also right on the water so you can sit on the back porch and enjoy the view!

We had the pizza, and it was very good. Sat outside on the patio overlooking the river.

Sat outside on a beautiful afternoon! Such a peaceful view! Service was attentive and hospitable. The menu had some interesting twists. We tried a few fish sandwiches, crab dip, cheddar and jalepeno stuffed burger. The burger was hand formed and tasted awesome. Those flavors with the fresh beef were outstanding. The fries are coated in sour cream and chive. Not overpowering but gives a nice crispy coating and flavor. Would definitely return to sit outside. Inside didn’t seem to have much ambiance.

A group of us ate at Luther’s before we went on a walking tour. We were crunched for time so had to find a place that we could have fast service. We sat at the bar and had a very good waitress. She suggested the grouper sandwich because it was fast. Four of us ordered the grouper. It was terrible! It was not fresh at all. It had been frozen and tasted terrible! The cheese was processed American cheese. Overall, stay away from this place!

Read some pretty good things about Luther’s, so figured I would give it a try. I was there less than 10 minutes. Here are a few things I learned. I learned it’s a popular local joint. It was a Saturday night in February. Lots of locals inside and on the back patio facing the waterfront park. I learned they had great live music. A guy playing a guitar in the corner. The music was at a pleasant level, unlike some places that make your ears bleed with loud music in a small space. And it was good music. But I also learned they didn’t have good service. During those ten minutes two waitresses walked past me almost a dozen times. They never asked if I wanted a drink. They never gave me a menu so the dinner I wanted to get cooking. They never even said hello. So I left.

I offer this most sincerely suggestion to any and all vistors in the Beaufort area. «Ya Can’t visit Beaufort without stopping in at Luthers.» Once inside the doors, head east the thirty paces or so to where the bar and dining area are located. Given the prime piece of real estate, all menu items are extremely well priced and as delicious as any bar kitchen anywhere can pass out the smallish window that seperates the kitchen grunts from the dining area. There are other eateries along this waterfront that charge more than two times Luthers, albeit not necessarily bar-ish food, so the dollar comparison is not entirety befitting. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know a few of the fine folks over mt years of passing through. Stretch, Stretches Mom, Kanani and others all have made my memories of Luthers more memorable than I could have asked for.

I can’t comment at all about the food here but what I can tell you is that we enjoyed some drinks on the lovely outdoor patio one fine evening here and it was delightful. It’s a great place to go for drinks and a great view of the water and equally good people-watching opportunities. We stopped by before our dinner plans at another restaurant one evening sometime during Happy Hour… which isn’t terribly much of a happy hour entitling one as it does to a mere .50 cents off beer or wine but that was really beside the point anyway. We wanted to be outside with a cocktail. It had been a beautiful hot clear day that was turning into a similarly wonderful evening. The Luther’s patio faces right out onto the inter-coastal waterway so coming here was a good choice. Much to my astonishment, coming from the city as I do, we immediately found a table out on the patio. Had we been home, arriving during a happy hour, all the tables would have already been filled and we would have been standing up somewhere with drinks in hand. I am always pleasantly surprised when getting seats somewhere out in public isn’t a hassle like it can be in Boston. Here, we got front row seats to the great outdoors. I had two glasses of prosecco and hubby had two beers. Our waitperson was lovely and didn’t mind one bit that we had prime real estate and only the drinks to show for the room we were taking up. That’s the way to run a place, hospitality always. Given the low quality of the meal we went on to have later on at the Dockside, I’m wishing we had stayed at Luther’s and had our dinner there. Next time.
