We went in and waited about 5 minutes for someone to greet/sit us. Then we waited at our table for 25 minutes. We watched two other tables get their order taken and receive their drinks. We finally left after no one served our party of 7. The menu looked delicious; we wished we could have gotten some service.

My favorite restaurant in Beaufort. They cook the best rib eye that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The rest of their menu is fantastic in addition to having a great beer selection!

This is faux BBQ fare. Service gets an «F». I won’t go into deep detail; asked 3 times to order beer. Finally arrived halfway through the meal. Meal?! Did I call this a meal? Brisket was so tough and chewy it was nearly inedible. Baked beans tasted like someone dumped cumin all over them. Grits were dry and were clumped together in chunks. New Brunswick stew, the appetizer, showed up about the time the beers did and almost as cold. We left hungry and annoyed. We practically had to lasso the server to get the bill so we could leave. Don’t insult your palate with this awful food or waste your money.

I had the brisket tacos and they were delicious! For the 45 minutes it took to get to my table, I devoured it in less than 5. I don’t blame the place for being right there in downtown and on a Saturday afternoon but I just wished the service was a lot more speedy. I am basing my ratings solely on the food though!

My husband and I went here for lunch. We ordered fish tacos and 2 sides which were grits and collard greens $ 9.50 for tacos and $ 3.50 for the sides. The food came quickly. The tacos were a joke. Each one had a tiny piece of fish. There was probably less than a quarter of an once of fish on both tacos. I told the wait staff that it was ridiculous and to take it back. She returned a few minutes later with the tacos that they had added another piece of fish to each one. We accepted this time even though it was still very little fish. The manager did come over and apologize and said they made a mistake. The grits and greens were good but again were very, very small portions. Grits are really cheap so I don’t get why you would give such a small portion. If this represents how the customer is served… I would not eat at the Q again.

My husband and I ate here one day and we were not impressed. He ordered the pulled chicken and I had the brisket with Mac and cheese. The service was super slow and I never got my drink refilled(although the little waitress filled my husbands glass twice??) my food came 15 mins after my husbands and was LUKEWARM. Plus the brisket was so fatty and full of grease it was hardly edible… I picked around for meat and only found tiny pieces here and there. My mac and cheese never came so I was brought fries instead and they were soggy and unsalted. My husband barely touched his chicken and since my brisket was all fat I ate most of his out of hunger but it was super dry and I literally had to drown it in the vinegar sauce they have on the tables. I understood why he barely touched it lol We won’t be back ever again.

Their beer selection is the best in town. Woah the Sculpun IPA Nitro is tasty! It’s a great location right on the water. Sitting inside is also interesting in this old building. The service is always friendly though sometimes slow. The barbecue is good, though I’m no connoisseur. The bar tends to get extremely backed up when it’s busy. I have, in times past, just left. But it’s my favorite place in town to come early with a book, my dog, my wife, and have a beer. They always bring a bowl of water.

We visited Beaufort today and had a very limited amount of time for lunch. We walked into the Q and I told the hostess that we had less than 45 minutes to eat. Their mission was to seat us, feed us, and get us out of there on time. We were assured that they could do it. Our server, Brittany, was in training but was very knowledgable of the menu and prep times for various items on the menu. We received our food within 10 minutes and it was absolutely delicious. The server and her trainer asked if we had a problem with them bringing our bill with the meal, and we agreed that it was a great idea. We had a great lunch on the outdoor patio and left with time to spare to get to our carriage ride appointment. I recommend this restaurant to anyone planning on a visit to Beaufort. Great menu with very reasonable prices.

Seven of us just enjoyed Fantastic meals with lunch portions large enough to fill a moderately hungry adult. Our waitress Brittany provided us with excellent service and and a pleasant personality. The atmosphere inside and out was very pleasing

The pulled pork and buffalo chicken dip were good but the sides and BBQ sauce were undesirable. The beans tasted like body odor smells… disgusting but oddly impressive… the mac and cheese and coleslaw tasted and looked like they were old and not good. I won’t be back.

Nice view, the patio is a great location on a nice day to watch the kids playing on the grass and the boats drift by. Food is overpriced and mediocre. They have a decent beer list that is fairly priced. Where they really lose points is bartending. We went out with visitors for my birthday and the restaurant we hoped to go to was closed for the evening, so we decided to go to Qs. We ordered two beers and two mixed drinks off their cocktail menu… Both drinks tasted like lousy cough medicine. We compared one to the chalky taste of a Flintstones chewable vitamin. And the other was seriously the absolute worst sangria I have ever had. How do you screw that up?! I wouldn’t expect it to be outstanding — just take your day old bottle of red wine, add sparkling water and a little grenadine and an orange slice and that’s pretty much par for the course for most restaurants. That would have been fine. But it was awful, truly undrinkable. Some sort of mix that was repulsive. I took two sips and asked the waitress(which I hate doing) if I could substitute a beer because I just didn’t see how this was going to be drinkable. They said they didn’t think they could. Seriously?! I offered to pay the $ 8 for the lousy cocktail and just comp me a $ 2PBR — at least I could drink that, so my money isn’t totally a waste. They said nope. I asked to speak with the manager, and finally they agreed to replace the drink«just this once.» I ordered a beer, because their bartender couldn’t screw up a beer. This wasn’t the first time they screwed up our cocktails — my husband ordered an old fashioned and then had to explain how to make it. And it was still bad. We ended up going a few doors down to a fancier restaurant, Saltus — cocktails were actually cheaper and the view was just as nice. We are locals and will never return to Qs. Not worth it. A waste of great waterfront real estate.

Decided to try this place out despite the mediocre Unilocal reviews. Not many places open in beaufort on new year’s day to eat and watch the games. We were immediately seated for lunch in the seating area near the bar with full view of 3 tvs. Our server quickly took our orders. Our drink was good and arrived promptly. Then… an eternal wait. We finally asked our server where our wings were as others were seated after us and had received appys. He must have forgotten to put them in because when he came back he told us that they would come after our burger and sandwich. A short while later, we received the burger which was well cooked and turkey sandwich. We both chose fries as our sides which were terrible. They were soggy, lots of smaller side pieces. Our server returned after we had finished eating the sandwiches and I asked him if the fries were normally served this way. His first response was that he doesn’t do the cooking. …really? When I asked him if he’d ever eaten the fries there, he said no… really? ?? BTW… the wings were dropped off seconds after the entrées and were good. We asked to speak with the manager and got the owner, Chris, who was great. He did not charge us for the wings and offered us desserts, much of which is personally made by his mother. We really enjoyed a carrot cake and a strawberry coconut cake. PS We noted that the fries at the other tables looked very good and didn’t resemble our soggy mess. If we’re in the area, we’d probably stop by for a drink, wings, and definitely dessert.

Excellent Service and Great Food. Visited Q’s when we picked up our new Marine from Parris Island. Accommodated a large group. Waitress’ husband was a drill instructor. She was able to provide her perspective of making a marine. It was excellent!

We went to this restaurant because the restaurant that we wanted to go to had a wait time of over 30 minutes. I didn’t think we would have to make reservations while in Beauford but I guessed wrong so we had to find a last minute option for dinner. We walked down the street and I came across this place. We were able to get sat quickly and maneuver the stroller because most of the guests were sitting in the back bar area. Hubby got a steak which he requested medium but it looked a little rare. I got some type of combination BBQ platter which was okay. The macaroni and cheese side and green beans were delicious. But the brisket was dry and the rest of the BBQ was just ok. But it’s not like we planned on eating here anyway so I suppose it was good in a pinch, there would be other opportunities to eat better barbecue while in the Carolinas.

Q on Bay offers pretty standard BBQ fare in a comfortable restaurant space with sunning views and exception outdoor seating. Another plus is a nice list of 10+ craft beers with a focus on regional breweries. I stopped in on a Saturday night for a quick drink before our dinner reservation elsewhere and surmised this would be the perfect place to come and watch some football on Sunday. We came back and had some food and more drinks while watching NFL on Sunday. They aren’t really a sports bar, since they didn’t have any sort of game sound on, but there are plenty of large, high quality televisions for sports and the service was great. Food could use a little help. The chicken wings and brisket fell a little flat. I had high expectations for chicken wings described as first smoked and then deep fried to crisp them up. What I received was a lightly smoked wing that was barely crisped in a fryer. Don’t tempt me with mouth watering description then shoot me down with a soggy and fatty wing. But when it comes to what Beaufort has to offer this is a pretty solid bar: great service from the bar, good beers, and a great setting. I’d come back for sure.

Solid place with a good selection of craft beer. I recommend sitting on the patio. My kids loved the food too. My only issue was that the horseradish sauce had no taste. Bring the heat!

I must the view is outstanding! You need to sit on their deck if you eat here. I used to come here a lot before we moved, so we made this our first place to eat when we get into town. I had their crab cake sliders and they were so good! I am still thinking about them.

Nice location on Waterfront Park in Beaufort. We got the pulled pork platter with red rice and fries. Everything tasted ok, but nothing to write home about. Sauces were kind of bland and we have had better pork almost anywhere you go. Our server was really nice and suggested having the Alabama sauce on the rice. Good suggestion. The rice was good and adding the white bbq sauce to it made for an interesting combination. Nice place to sit and watch the river. If you aren’t a real bbq snob, give it a try.

We really liked Q! It’s in a great location on Bay Street with a very nice covered patio/deck with a wonderful view of the water. Inside are had some nice seating and a nice bar as well. Food was excellent. I had a burger and sweet potato fries — both of which were great. Service was good, not great. The waitress was quick and responsive, but the kitchen seemed slow, even though it was well past the peak lunch time. Nice selection of beers on tap too! We’d stop back when in Beaufort!
