My husband and I tried to check in early at 2. We were told our room was not ready which was perfectly ok bc check on was not until 3. The front desk said to come back in 30 and it should be ready. We ran some errands and can back at 3. At that point we were told our room was still not ready and again were told 30 more minutes and that they would call us as soon as it was ready. So we waited in the car because our daughter was tired of being in her car seat and needed a serious nap. At 3:45 I finally went inside and asked if our room was ready yet and if not that we wanted any other room at was. Front desk again said it was not ready but they just needed to but the crib in the room and add sheets. I said that was fine and to give me the keys anyways. I also let them know I thought it was unacceptable that I couldn’t check in until over an hour after check on time.(at this point it’s 4:15). Never once did the man at the front desk apologize for the inconvenience or even attempt to correct the situation. As for the room it was nice. Very clean. Breakfast was another story. All of the yogurt was hot, oatmeal cold, eggs cold, and sausage cold. All in what looked like appropriate things to keep them proper temperature but they weren’t working. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Definitely not a complimentary breakfast.

When you sign up late in the evening(getting the last room) you pay the most. My $ 122 quickly became $ 144 with all of the taxes added in. I have stayed here twice and I find the check in at the front desk is pretty efficient and helpful. Pool is unheated. Rooms are comfy. Breakfast was poor quality so don’t let that be an selling point. Restaurant next door has been closed for a while but still plenty of food around.

Is this a 5 star hotel, NO. It’s not the Four Seasons or Waldorf Astoria but as far as Hampton Inn’s go this one is 1st class. I stayed at 5 – 6 hotels in Beaumont during my 3 months but always kept coming back here. I always have great luck with Hampton Inn’s as a whole. The rooms are always clean, beds are big and comfy, and wifi always works. This one was all of those and more. Friendly front desk workers with fresh chocolate chip cookies as you sign in. Every Monday-Thursday they have a little something to eat like ham subs, chicken sliders, hot dogs, etc plus beer and soft drinks from 5 – 7. All free! Sure it’s just cans of Bud, Coors or Miller Lite but it’s FREE cans of Bud, Coors, or Miller Lite. THe Hampton is always a safe bet and this one is better than most.

It’s a Hampton so if you’re a Hilton Honors member you know exactly what to expect. Isn’t that why we stay at the same hotel chain over and over — so we know what to expect? This Hampton is being remodeled and we were assigned«new» rooms on the third floor. They were lovely, fresh and clean. Helpful staff. Typical Hampton breakfast. Take note, getting back on I-10 is something of a treck so ask at the front desk before you leave. Give Floyes restaurant a try as opposed to the chain restaurants of which there are several nearby(Cheddars, Joe’s Crab Shack, Waffle House). Yes, you’ll have to drive to Floyds when you could walk to the others but it’s worth the drive and it will give you practice circling around and under I-10 — the exact route you’ll take when you leave.
