I think I’m spoiled by an authentic Mexican restaurant in Xenia, but since I am on bedrest I decided I needed to look up the best place to get an authentic Fajita Taco Salad since I cannot drive. I live around the corner from Chuy’s and decided to give theirs a try. My usual restaurant makes this dish like a sizzling chicken fajita placed onto a salad and it’s incredible so I was hoping for the same. When my husband brought my take-out box home it was the size of a medium cake box, so I was encouraged! My encouragement turned to extreme disappointment when I opened the box and saw a HUGE amount of lettuce and purple cabbage and carrots! Really Chuy’s??? We actually could have made this ourselves! I did like the taco shell, it was light and crispy, but I had to sift through the mounds of greens to get to the chicken. Authentic fajita taco salads have sauteed peppers and onions, and there was neither in this salad. Lesson learned… stay authentic and avoid«Tex-Mex». Nice chips though, very light.

The food is great, but the service needs to still work out some kinks. Overall very good experience.

I have visited Chuy’s on three separate occasions and all three have been with similar experiences. Food: The food is not bad, but definitely forgettable. I enjoyed their fajitas, and I do like that they press their own tortillas in house. However, I wish they offered more salsa options than just Pico de Gallo. When I want Pico, typically it is with my food, rather than chips. Additionally, I find their pricing of any additional sides(ex. sour cream) far overpriced. $ 1 for a 2oz scoop of Daisy Sour Cream is ridiculous. Drinks: While they do have some interesting flavored for margaritas(my first visit I enjoyed the pomegranate), again I find them overpriced. On another occasion, I asked for their version of a Coronarita on the rocks, rather than frozen. When it arrived less than half full, I was not pleased to be paying 9.95 $ for it. I understand alcohol portioning, as I used to be a bartender, but had I known I would be receiving a 1⁄3 margarita 2⁄3 beer drink, I would’ve opted for just a beer(at half the price). Service: This is the most glaring problem at this food chain. I have visited both this store and Austin Landing and been served with the same seemingly undertrained quality. The first occasion, I only spoke with the server to order my drinks, and when she took away empty plates. She did however, find time to sit down and roll silverware nearby. I understand being busy, but if you can’t find time to check in with my dining experience, you do not deserve even a 15% tip. My most recent visit, my server was a bit more attentive, but seemed more concerned with making plans for after work with the server in a nearby section than on actually bringing my check. I also found it very odd when I asked for a refill of our chips and she brought out new chips by holding them in the chip scooped and dumping them in the old basket. Summary: While this up and coming chain boasts all fresh ingredients and food, they should focus in even more on the training and reliability of their staff. The place is teeming with servers and bartenders in order to foster ultimate care, yet they just can’t seem to get it right.

Atmosphere is fun. Very decorative and festive. Waited about 25 minutes on a Saturday afternoon for two to be seated. Not a lot of standing room but it cleared out quick. Complimentary salsas were very good. Even my picky boyfriend enjoyed them. I had the cheese quesadillas which were delicious. My boyfriend ordered a beef burrito with just cheese meat and beans. When it came out there were peppers and onions in it. My boyfriend who is beyond picky freaked out and asked the waitress to have them remake it. When she came back she informed us the ground beef was cooked with peppers and onions and that they could substitute it with steak or chicken if he didn’t want the peppers and onions. My boyfriend decided he didn’t want anything at this point. It ruined his appetite(petty, I know) and I was already done. The manager came out apologized offered to go through menu to create something he would like instead but because he was no longer hungry he gave us a coupon for a free meal to come back. I would definitely try it again! Hopefully next time my boyfriend will eat(:

The first time I had Chuy’s was in Texas so I kinda knew what to expect but this location is a bit different. Maybe in Texas they have to step up their game to compete? The beer selection sucks and the food was luke warm and very greasy. The salsa was kinda gross. A little bit spicy but no flavor. The flour tortillas were horrible. They were dried out and tasted like you licked the inside of a bag of flour. NOTHING like true flour tortillas. I’ve had communion wafers that tasted better than those things! I’m not sure where folks are getting 4 and 5 stars? Abuelos is far better in terms of food quality and costs about the same. Bartenders were eating and drinking and then making drinks and scooping up chips for the customers, all without washing their hands. Eww. I know of a few people who have gotten sick after eating here. I won’t return.

Horrible I won’t be back… they were over crowded. I felt like i was a sardines. Like how many fish can we shove in this can. Our waitress came to our table twice to tell us she would be back to get our drink order. After we got our drinks it took her three times coming by saying she would be back to take our food order. Her first excuse was she had to go deliver check then came back said she was going to bring us chip. After the chips it was she had to deliver soda to another table. We were given a wait time of 55 mins it took us an hour and 30 mins to get a table. After an hour we asked the hostess she had a not so warm attitude. When our buzzer finally went off she snatched the pager from us and said nothing. Not impressed at all. For a busy Friday night they should have there stuff together.

Delicious food, about on par with Dona Margarotas(which rocks) in Yellow Springs, maybe even a little better, leagues ahead of Abuelos and Don Pablo’s which aren’t even in the same league for authenticity and flavor. The home made tortillas are divine, that and the delicious steak they use for their burritos put it firmly into my favorites list. The cocktails are good and strong, the wait staff seem on point — it seems pretty fast paced. Atmosphere is lively, décor is really cool and the seating far comfier than it looks. I’m pleased we gave it a try, it’s a solid option and probably the best sit-down restaurant in the Fairfield commons area. We came on a weeknight and were seated in 5 minutes or so, I can imagine it’s packed on a weekend and there’s really no place to wait other than right by the door.

I had a great time at Chuy’s! The neon lights and framed pictures of Elvis definitely look inviting. The entire restaurant looks like a traditional 1950s diner with a Tex-Mex twist! The bar looks bright and cheery with cute animal prints. My friendly, charming waiter helped me with my menu choices and refilled my water several times. I ordered a chicken chalupa and taco plate. Another waiter informed me of the 4−7pm happy hour! I enjoyed the chips with the spicy salsa and the jalapeño cream dressing! Mix the guacamole on top, and it tastes so comforting. Located by the Fairfield Mall, Chuy’s is the perfect destination to relax with some Tex-Mex and a margarita! I am so glad that the mall is expanding and developing its dining options! I would highly suggest visiting during the evening as well!

This is the second time I’ve ate at this chain and my opinion is the same, the tables are to close together and it’s very loud with the music. The service wasn’t great either, we had to keep waving the server down. The food is ok at par but I’ve other Mexican places that are better. It’s a place to try but I’m done eating at this chain

Great new location for this chain offering great Tex-Mex. As I’m originally from New Mexico I come with the sole intention of enjoying the Hatch green chili and it revives my pure chili addiction(yes, you can actually become addicted to chili, sort of). Enjoy…
