I tried another Crossfit gym before I tried this one, and I can say that BCF(formerly FTS Crossfit) has it going on. From my perspective the coaching is solid, the programming is great(crossfit with a strength bias), and the atmosphere is welcoming. I think the coaches program based a lot on OPT workouts, which is a smart way to go, they provide solid coaching and feedback without over-coaching, and the members openly welcomed us. The only downside to the gym is that there are no restrooms(they have porta-johns) or water fountain, but that will be rectified soon as they are moving to a new location(new space in same complex) around the first of the year 2013. Once in the new place I don’t think there will be much wrong with the place. In short, if you’re looking for a great crossfit gym, and you’re in the Bethel, Cedar Mill, Beaverton area, this is the place for you… Heck even if you aren’t in the area this may be the place for you!

Located out in Beaverton, this Box is about the size that im used to. Its located just off the i-26 near shopping centers and a huge Edge gym. If you are not familiar with CrossFIT, remember first that its a lifestyle and not just an exercise gym. You need to be mentall prepared to do CrosFIT. WODS(Workout of the Day) is preceeded with a warmup. This could be stretching to doing double unders for a set period of time. Once completed the coach will go about explaining the WOD. Pay attention as Crossfit is all about form and not just trying to lift your max. WOD’s can range from all sort of weighted exercises to just simple cardio. Its about the high resistance, high impact and just fun. The WODS can range from 5 minutes up to 30 so your body doesnt or isnt prepared. This helps to burn the fat. Cool downs, which is very important includes stretching so that you dont have injury later. This is a must even though you think you may not need it. Best part… just have fun!
