This place has good food. Cooked just right. The space is a little small and they tend to run out of certain items. Ive also had them mess up my order several times.

Worst barbecue baked potato I have ever eaten. The reason for the two stars is the place is clean and service people friendly. The potato was hard, undercooked and had little butter or little sour cream on it despite my request. Instead of chopped beef on the baked potato, I received hard chunks of dry, overcooked and unappetizing meat. I threw the potato out. I had taken it home and it was simply uneatable. Even more disappointing was that I discuss exactly what kind of barbecue potato I was interested in eating. I will not go back go back to this restaurant.

Alright, I have my doubts about barbecue places here in the Pacific Northwest because I’m from the South, and have a pretty high standard of my charred meats. Dicky’s didn’t disappoint. I walked in, and the first thing I noticed was the really strange layout of the store, and was pretty thrown off by it, but onward I pushed. I ordered the brisket, mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The meat plates come with a roll, and two sides. I received my meal on a metal tray, which I thought was pretty nifty, and sat down. I tried the brisket, and decided immediately it was some of the best I’ve had. I even ate the fat, and I usually hate any kind of animal fat. Ever part of the meat was extremely flavorful, and buttery. The mac and cheese was thick and cheesy, and the waffle fries were just the way I like my waffle fries, hot and crispy. There’s an added bonus: this place has free soft serve ice cream cones. I know, I know, the mix is probably incredibly cheap as are the cones, but COMEON, I could hardly help myself! There’s this innate satisfaction that comes along with having a soft serve cone. Anyway, if you’re looking for a hefty meal and some nice meat, this is the place to go!

I was craving for meat, so this place hit the spot for me! The chicken, pulled pork, and briskets were all so yummy! Cole slaw and waffle iron fries were delicious too. Great deal, convenient location, and plenty of meat! I like how they keep the BBQ sauce separately and not slather the meats with it. I like it without the sauce anyway, because it’s delicious alone.

Passable. but barely. Sides are kind of weak. The dinner roll had no flavor. Presentation was BORING. Counter help got both our orders wrong and they were generally condescending and rude. Definitely overpriced for what you get.

I love Dickey’s! Use to eat there all the time in Vegas so I was excited to see them in Portland. Great BBQ, sides, pickles, onions, and free ice cream! The staff if friendly and always welcoming. The great thing about the BBQ is you get it fast but it’s cooked slow and to perfection.

For fast BBQ, this place did okay. Im kind of surprised it’s lasted this long as not many places in the building have… especially for a place that isn’t really known around these parts. I do enjoy that you get a decent amount of food… choice of a meat or two and two sides… but no drink with the price you’re paying seems strange. Anyway, they have daily specials and we ordered one and it was pork and sausage sandwich I believe and it was just so-so. I ordered the the pulled pork meal which the pork was pretty good by its self(nothing mind blowing). They’re pretty quick to get everything through which is nice for something fast but you don’t get the flavors that you want from BBQ.

I’ve been coming to Dickey’s at this location since it opened. I have to get my bbq fix at least once or twice per month. The food is great for this area, and have no complaints. However, the service is horrendous. It used to not be that way. There is one person in particular I’ve had about enough of, and it is the middle-aged bald guy that cuts your meat. Negative attitude, short with customers, and generally angry to be even working a job he chose to apply for. I’ve worked customer service for years, and for him to be the very first person to greet you and take your order, it is not welcoming at all. In fact, I even watched an elderly couple in front of me have to experience his extreme distaste for his job, even after they told him it was their first time there. At this same visit, I also watched him belittle the younger employees in front of a full line of cuatomers. To be honest, I have reservations going back to support this type of emplyment. If you want a cl great experience for cuatomers, like it used to be, this guy should not be a part of the franchise in my opinion. Seek someone less self serving, and complaintive, and find someone with customer service on their mind. Otherwise, I’d see others turning away as well, or causing a scene due to his attitude.

It is pretty good, they try to keep the line moving fast. Probably should have more staff.

Dickie’s is BBQ fast food. If your looking for that taste you get from hours of slaving over a smokey pit with amazing sides that feel like they were made the way mom made them, cook at home. This will fill that void only fast food can fill. Quick and tastes pretty good. Every time we have ordered the chicken nuggets they have been over cooked. That means my kids won’t eat them. I enjoy the brisket. You don’t get much bark with the meat. Arguably the best part. The Mac n cheese was highly processed. Cesar salad was good. Overall, it’s good if you have to have BBQ.

I hesitated to go here, I’m a big fan of good BBQ. Unfortunately this felt like fast food. The pulled pork, turkey and brisket were all very dry and clearly just cooked in an oven. Turkey had a deli meat from Safeway feel to it. Mac and cheese was also lacking big time. Real BBQ will blow your mind, go to Reverend’s in Sellwood. They do it right if you want something close to Texas BBQ.

Here is a chain that feels like a mom and pop shop. Reasonably prices meals for the portions. Every Wednesday I come around for the 9 dollar westerner, pulled pork topped with a sliced polish sausage, cheese, pickle, and onion all served on buttered sandwich. This meal comes with 2 sides. I go with the rich mac and cheese and the made by order criss cut fries. I have also been known to snag a beer on occasion to wash it down. If your feeling some quick mouth watering bbq check this joint out. When I’m hungry and adventurous I turn to this site to help me nom. Hope this helps any of you. And in case your wonder I’m not paid or sponsored so I can say is fucking amazing and you’ll blow your load at the free ice you get on your way out lol. Enjoy!

Dickey’s BBQ is «ok». I’ve been here a few times now(hoping to not judge it based on one experience or even two). Unfortunately there are not a lot of BBQ options on this side of Portland — especially in Beaverton/Hillsboro. To start off — I do a LOT of BBQ at home in the spring/summer — and do a lot of smoking of my own meats. I lived in Texas as well as Georgia for quite a few years — so when it comes to BBQ I’ve had some of the best out there. In addition… living in Oregon I would not expect the BBQ to be on the same level as the BBQ belt of our nation — which is why they get 3 stars instead of 2. Simply to start off — if you have fried okra and mac-n-cheese on the menu — there’s not a single BBQ place in the south that would stay open without hot sauce anywhere to be found. Texas Pete’s, Tabasco, Louisiana Hot Sauce… something. When it comes to fried okra — one of my all time favorite southern treats! Very few places in the NW serve it… so thank you for having it on your menu. On the same token, it’s pretty obvious it’s low grade pre-frozen(which is still better than nothing — but it’s less expensive to have a dredge/batter there in the restaurant and make it to order. Better tasting, less expensive). The tiny rolls served — yeah… that’s not BBQ. For the same price(or close to) there are a LOT of bakeries in the area where loaves of Texas Toast could easily be made available. Texas Toast is what needs to be served with BBQ — not tiny bland rolls. The meat — it’s «ok» but definitely missing the significant smoke flavor found at the vast majority of BBQ joints coasts to coast. What I do like — The manager seems to be a great guy. I like the concept they use for the drinks. The sauces are above average and it’s a nice perk with the free ice cream for customers. I also like the amount of options on the menu and the number of sides available. Dickey’s will do in a pinch when you’re tired of the normal options of food out there. It’s not bad — the prices are a bit high. And with a few tweaks on things it could be a 4 star BBQ place. One of the easiest would simply be for the owner to get some hot sauce available. It’s not a significant expense… and when it comes to BBQ places coast to coast — it’s an expectation(especially when you serve the sides that are on the menu).

it’s pretty good ‘que. The meat is tender but I felt like there wasn’t as much flavor as I would have hoped. If they do smoke it, I don’t taste the flavor coming through. the folks are nice, the prices aren’t too bad. The curly fried onions are very tasty.

We went in for a late lunch. Ordered two meats with two sides at the counter. Meats were spicy sausage and smoked brisket. First team member carves and lays out on paper. Next server asks me for sides choice. I inquire about cole slaw and the reply is «don’t know, never tried the slaw». Crap, WTH are you doing serving if you know nothing about the product? Order slaw and potato salad. This with small drink comes for about 14.00. Brisket has zero bark and very little smoke. Sausage is very good, moist and tasty with spicy sauce. Sides are just OK but I ordered what might be considered their worst sides. People love this BBQ but I have had better. It does well and I feel I should give them another try before writing them off. For now my review is 3 ½ stars.

This is my favorite bbq joint. I always get the 2 meat plate with brisket and spicy cheddar sausage. The potatoes casserole is out of this world! Came in tonight because my wife was craving the pulled pork and they accidently sent us home with the sausage instead. The manager was on top of it and got us our original order and let us keep the mistake. Great customer service! I’ll definitely continue to keep coming back.

I’m so pissed. I usually like the food here, but they need to fix their family pack. Last night, I was debating between ordering 4 combos or 1 family pack. The guy convinced me that the family pack is a better deal because you get more food for the same price. I beg to differ. This family pack is advertised as it would feed for 4 – 6 people. When I got home, it ended up barely feeding 4 people. The sides fed only two people. How is 6 waffle fries supposed to feed 6 people? The meat was barely enough for 3 people. I paid $ 50 for $ 20 worth of food. I would have got more food if I ordered 4 separate combos. I knew it was too good to be true. I’m going to demand my money back or two complimentary meals.

A vendor brought our office lunch in today and had Dickey’s cater. Holy awesome spicy & sweet barbecue sauce Batman! Every last one of us went in for seconds. I personally took seconds of the mac and cheese, pulled pork(with both spicy and sweet sauce) and the baked potato casserole. However; that wasn’t to say the rolls weren’t buttery and worth a second grab or the creamy coleslaw wasn’t creamy. I was just too full to take another helping of everything. One co-workers favorite was the slaw. One was the baked potato casserole. One the pulled pork. Well, duh! everyone’s favorite was the pulled pork. I didn’t have a favorite because I loved it all equally. There are a lot of good ribs places in town, but this has been rated our new favorite.

I like this place. I like their food. I like that I had a coupon for them from . The guys here were super friendly, helpful and seem to be enjoying themselves. When I struggled over side dish choices, one suggested the baked potato casserole. Excellent, Smithers! When I mentioned Unilocal,he said oh good, we’re only at a 3.5 now. I dug that he knew that and cared! I’m happy to report that I am doing my part! In a big mall of little strip malls(or so it looks to me) somewhere in the anal cavitties of Beaverton lye this bbq joint. At 12 or so on a Thursday, the place had a few customers, which grew until most tables were filled by the time we left. Order at the conveyor area on the right, drinks/sauce/shiny plasticware down at the end on the left. There’s a sign up front with daily specials. So armed with a coupon, I got the pulled pork and spicy sausage with 2 sides for about $ 9 in addition to my rib plate. The rib plate with 2 sides and rolls($ 13.50) was a good amount of food. The ribs were really delicious and fall off the bone but slightly overdone. Loved the sausage and decent(also a little overdone) pulled pork. Yummy baked beans, decent mac & cheese(more seasoning, I think), I loved the baked potato casserole(but it really is mashed), and the cole slaw was good, not too heavy and fresh. I just finished the leftover this morning and cole slaw definitely stood up! My friend’s waffle fries were excellent! Three sauces to choose from — basic but good. Shiny silver plasticware. Soda comes in giant size. I mixed 4 sodas for the perfect cola, diet and pepper mix — cos that’s how I roll. There’s even free soft serve ice cream!!! What? Is this a chinese buffet? But like a dolt, I fogot to go back for mine. So, in sum: The location, well… ya know. The place seems clean but nothing to write home about décor-wise. But otherwise, I dig this place. I dig the food, the staff and the free ice cream!

When this place opened up, I didn’t realize this was a popular chain with 400+ locations all over the country. This is the first one in the Portland area and it’s got some pretty good stuff going for it. My favorites include the sausage(both kinds), coleslaw, chicken breast, ham, baked beans, and ribs. The mashed potato casserole was just ok. It definitely needed to be heated up. It was too cold for the cheese to soften let alone melt. The biscuit was kinda meh… a bit too doughy but it’s starting to grow on me. The pulled pork and brisket were big disappointments in the flavor department. In terms of texture, they’re excellent, but you really need to slather on the sauce to cover up the dry and unseasoned meat. The dinner area is small and can get very crowded quickly during the lunch rush. The floor also has this weird greasy-slippery feel to it. Not sure what’s up with that… watch your step? The big plus are the people working there. Always friendly and pleasant and eager to offer helpful suggestions if you’re stuck on what to order. There’s also free soft-serve vanilla ice cream if you care for some dessert afterwards. Food: 4 Service: 5 Value: 3 Ambiance: 3 TL;DR: Not bad for some quick BBQ
