Tried out the chicken shawarma gyro– was very happy with the quality of meat and toppings as well as the quantity. Very tasty! I work downtown and would say this gyro beat pretty much any that I’ve had from a food truck in Portland

I love food carts. I also really enjoy sitting down at a table, being able to wash my hands, or use the restroom anytime I want. This is a clean restaurant staffed by a really nice dude. He forms shish-kabob by hand, grills them fresh and they’re good. Prices are good. I’ve had the kabob and I’ve had the gyro, I’ve enjoyed them both. Gyro and Fries — 6 bucks Burger and Fries — 6 bucks 3 shish-kabob with rice — 9 bucks

Authentic Turkish cuisine can not get better than this in Portland. The restaurant opened last year and was struggling till the new chef and management took over just last month. I have come here multiple times and the food is amazing. So far I had doner kebab, iskender, chicken kebab and kofte ekmek and they all were mouth watering and amazing. The chef. Ali. is a very courteous and friendly guy. You can call in to place an order too.

Been here twice, was looking for a good kebob place and this is close to my house. First off, for being the only customers in there the wait was very long. Both times. My first time there I ordered a chicken kebob. It was a 20 minute wait. The one guy working behind the counter took my money then without washing his hands he went back to the kitchen to prepare the food. In the middle of it he answered his cell phone. Not once did I see him wash his hands or put on gloves. Very off-putting. The food was alright, I’m used to Persian style rice that’s fluffy and and the grains are separated, but this rice was a bit clumpy. The kebobs were pretty decent with a good tatste. Chutney was very watery and salty. And that sums up my first time there. My 2nd time there was yesterday, I had my kids with me after a long day of grocery shopping, we were hungry and this was in the area for a quick stop. When I walked in no greeting, no acknowledgement whatsoever, after about 2 mins, I said excuse me, and asked how long a chicken gyro would be? His response was, we are out of chicken. Surprised I asked, how about a chicken kebob plate? Again he repeated as if I didn’t hear him, we are completely out of chicken. Weird for a kebob restaurant to be out of chicken. He offered beef/lamb mix but I don’t eat beef. Eventually I ended up getting a pizza which took 25 minutes. I ordered and went next door shopped, put my groceries away and he was just starting to roll the dough. Keep in mind, there were no other customers. After me, 2 guys showed up, and again were told they had no chicken, and the 2 guys were disappointed but were on a lunch break so were forced to order something quick. Eventually one of the guys muttered next time they’ll go somewhere else. Pizza was decent, but half of the pizza did have chicken on it and the chicken tasted strange, I even found a piece of cardamom with the shell on the pizza. The vegetables side tasted good. Did not like the chicken at all. Surprised they had chicken since the guy said they didn’t. Not sure if I’ll go a 3rd time.

Stopped in here for some gyros. Not going to lie, came in here not expecting much. Aladdin’s in Seattle already set the bar for gyros… and they are hard to beat. But Kebab King is coming in a close second. I was pleasantly suprised at how tasty the gyro was. We will certainly be making a trip back here.
