Laserport

We will never come here again! Had my daughter’s 9^th birthday party here. They didn’t get us in to play the first game until 45 minutes after we arrived which meant that a bunch of 8 – 9 year olds had nothing to do but beg me for quarters to play the arcade games. When they finally got to play they were teamed against much older kids who basically held the guns to their heads and shot them multiple times. They did not keep our group together so when the game was over some left the room and a couple girls got left behind and were terrified. It was traumatic for them and they didn’t want to play again. We didn’t have time anyway. Because of the late start time we had to rush the dessert and presents and parents had to wait around for the party to end. Also, the carpet was disgusting! Stained from many soda spills and god knows what else.
I will say that the young ladies in the party room were very nice and helpful so I don’t want to blame them. They did their best.

Few of the games actually worked and all of the outdated laser tag vests I tried were broken. Not very fun at all.

Almost perfect. Good times playing laser tag. Air hockey and even foozeball. The PvP theme works. Get a change air blade guys (arcade board)! You won’t regret it!

Is what it is. Given the options in Portland for 9 – 16 age parties, it serves it purpose. Downside: location, amenities, pizza/​salad/​food is very edible, but not awesome, video games out of order, but solid selection, bartenders are inexperienced and understaffed.
Upside: the young staff serving are super nice and try really hard to make you happy — tip well!, having the bar connected is great for parents managing their stress; ultimately kids don’t know the difference and have an awesome time.
Set your expectations right and your kids will have a great time. BTW: it is about them not you!

I came here with a few friends. It was my first time playing laser tag and I had a blast. I sure missed out when I was a kid. Prices are pretty good if you play more than 1 game and they have a lot of arcade games you can play while you wait for your laser tag game. The video they make you watch for laser tag is a little outdated and kind of cheesy, but it is useful for those that have never been before. Laser tag will make you break a sweat and is a form of good exercise.

This place was incredible. The Lasertag was the best part of it but the arcade was cool too. I enjoyed the team Lasertag there. Some of the games there you can get lots of tickets from to get stuff from the store like toys. though the toys look cool, they are extremely bad quality. I bought a pair of handcuffs and they broke in the first second. The pizza there was fairly good. And the Laser tag was by far the best part.

Loved Laserport! My kids have been there for several birthday parties and we have hosted a party their for our nine year old. Kids had fun and the party room was clean and the hostess helped out a lot with the food,

Laserport is a great place to take out the family for some fun. When I go in with my family we go all out. We start off with some arcade games and then play a couple games of laser tag against other family’s or groups. When we finish playing our games and work up a big appetite we end the day with some amazing food from the copper monkey. Laserport is a great place to go when looking to bond with your family and friends. I give this place 5 stars :)

Wow. This place has gone dowwwwwnnnnn hiiiiiilllllll in the last several years. Pizza was decent and laser tag is really fun but other than that, it is run down, most of the games are posted as out of order or take your money without working, and the staff looks like they’re working in a prison. I felt like I was at an old arcade that had been laying dormant for the past 30 years. Clearly the owners don’t invest much in the business or they are doing very poorly. Bummer. We won’t be back.

My boss took me and a few coworkers here to have some fun after work. We went on a weekday, and when we walked in it was dead. Which is expected but the guy working behind the counter didn’t even have his uniform on. How unprofessional. I do like that I got to choose my own name.
He took us into a small vesting room, where again he was unprepared. He hadn’t turned on the tv to show us the video on how to play. After the video finished we got in the game. The arena is the most difficult arena I’ve ever played in. There was too much going and made my coworker trip and fall on her face. Funny of course, but not okay. I didn’t like that I had to go back to my base to reload shots, what a waste of time! And the vest vibrates way too hard, where its uncomfortable.
After the game the guy gave us our score cards, they were just on plain white paper, not exceeding at all. My team won but I did not enjoy it at all. I won’t go back.

End of season football party TERRIBLE!!! We had reservations and the pizza took over two hours and the boys didn’t get their laser games because the party ran so long waiting for food. Completely not staffed, food orders wrong, boys upset… it was HORRIBLE!!! No not go to this business.

YIKES! I have never seen so many kids in their late 20’s trying to pick up on high school girls. Well I guess if the girls already have kids and their parents are ok dropping them off here its nothing new to them.
Either way I think they should change the name of this place from «Laserport» to «Out of order.» Seriously I counted 13 arcade games and a soda fountain that proudly displayed these signs with little happy faces. The lady I went with also told me that the ladies restroom was no exception as there where numerous faculties out of order in there as well.
Those little Tony’s pizzas they fed us in elementary school where about 50 times better than the grub we got here.
Oh yea, we signed up early and paid a pre registration fee or deposit of something. When we arrived nobody had any idea what we where talking about. Once we showed the receipt for the $ 75 deposit we where told that they had forgotten about us and where then shuffled from room to room before we finally ended up with a place to have our gathering.
We get into the laser tag arena and more than half of the kids guns did not display properly. When I asked the bigger kids working at the desk about the faulty mechanisms I was told that it happens and that there is nothing they can do to fix it? Why are we paying full price for broken games, faulty laser guns, greasy gut bomb pizza and the worst service since Alaskan Airlines?
The answer is we will not be doing this again.
It may have been cool in the 80’s but the underpaid staff and neglect to detail have dropped this place to a two star. I would have given int a lonely little 1 star but…
Actually I think I will give this place a 1 star.
The kids we took left being rather frustrated with the experience. Maybe it was just a good lesson in team building and dealing with poor organization skills of others.

This place is little out of place. It is located little out of the way from Beaverton but it’s easy to locate. During the weekend, it’s $ 13 for 2 games and $ 17 for 3 games. Not too bad. In between the games, you can play plenty of arcade games ($ 0.25 — $ 0.50) to kill time. My friends and I played two games but had to wait little more than an hour for the second game. I think there were a lot of people, or groups, in queue, waiting for their turn. Weekend deal is pretty good but I guess the drawback is it draws a lot of people, you have to wait a bit.
There is only one playing room. It’s fairly big and a lot of places to hide. Our first game was between two groups, which was fine but for our second game, we had three groups — maximum of 4 at a time — and it was little too hectic. You would get shot every 10 seconds or so and it got little too crazy. Some of the equipments failed at times and some of my friends had to step out for a bit. Each game is about 15 minutes long so if you haveto step out to replace your gear, you will waste/​lose fair amount of time and fun…
But in the end, this is a decent place for a family or friends to come and have some fun lasertagging and playing arcade games. It’s neither cheap nor expensive but I’m sure you and your friends will have a good time. I just hope that next time I play here, I won’t have a malfunctioning equipment.

Ah lasertag, it’s like my childhood has resurrected from the dead, keeping all of its qualities. Even the safety/​rule video was the same, cheesy 80’s music and all. You even get to choose awesome names you wish you had as a kid, instead of ones you chose that would make someone uncomfortable saying outloud.
This adventure was the beginning of an interesting bachelor party. The arcade looked to be pretty adequate, but we didn’t spend any real time partaking in the machines. We spent all of our time exhaustingly shooting each other, once in a free-​for-​all and once in teams. I honestly got bored after the first game, as I wheezed from being so out of shape.
If I was a kid again, I would probably have some fun, but would also laugh at the dated aesthetics. As an adult, eh. At least there’s a bar next door? We didn’t actually go there, despite being a bachelor party.

This is the best place in town to play Dance Dance Revolution. It costs 50 cents a game (per player) and their DDR machine is definitely in the best shape in the area, the buttons all work and all the songs are unlocked. The copper monkey bar next door has free refills on soda, and their happy hour menu is good. We go almost every week & play for as long as we can stand it, then collapse onto the Fast & Furious machine to catch our breath, repeat until we run out of quarters/​energy. If I could live there, I would.

I was there for a work team building in the afternoon on a week day so the place was rather slow. We had no problem playing 2 games with another group in between so we can catch our breaths.
You can play up to 4 teams in there. Even though the place had AC and felt really cold in the beginning; trust me you’ll work up a sweat in one 15 mins session. They also played some pretty intense techno during the session that’ll totally pump you up!
Most equipment were good except some of the guns were broken so you can’t read the digital display of # of lives and # of shots left though. Some of the vests also didn’t keep score accurately. I hope they keep up with the maintenance of those guns/​vests. Except that, all were great fun. Suitable for all ages.

Open later than the other lasertag arena in Portland, cheaper as well by about a buck or so, especially if you do their 3 games for 15 $ deal… but what you get in extra play you lose in a predictable, 1 story play arena that makes games more repetitive than anything else.
I wouldn’t come here with a big group of people, too much room for mayhem without more hiding spots and without a 2^nd story.
Other places have had more interesting elements, like mirrors that you could reflect shots off of. I found it boring, a good intro to laser tag, but I’ve graduated.
By the way, I’m 26. Hahaha…

I really really really wanted to like it here. And next time I go (if I go again) maybe I’ll plan better so that we arrive at a time when the place isn’t overrun with kids six and under. Kids who are cute, but a major pain in the a** to play laser tag with.
The only thing worse than them? Their PARENTS! One of them actually yelled at my son for «tagging» their kid because it made them feel bad. After which the ref told us to «back off» the little kids. Huh? If we aren’t supposed to «tag» them, then why are they playing laser tag anyways?
FAIL.

Laser tag is something I could never get enough of. Laserport, by my standards [which admittedly are low, as there is only one decent laser tag venue reasonably located in relation to my apartment] is pretty excellent — we must have gone at an off time [Memorial Day weekend?] because there was no wait at all for the awesomeness to begin.
Went a few rounds here and our team of college students totally decimated the bratty middle school kids in spite of them outnumbering us and the fact that more than half our team had never played before. Insert fist pump here.
When we were taking breaks between rounds, there was plenty of Big Game Hunter and Dance Dance Revolution to go around.
If I lived anywhere near this place, I’d be back. But for now, I’ll keep it on my list of potential repeats for the next time we roadtrip to Oregon.

You get the drift. Probably the highlight of a Laserport game is choosing your name. I’ve attended and hosted a couple of parties here and the boys (with a few girls thrown in) have a blast. Just be forewarned that the staff will yell out your name for the assembled group when suiting up so choose wisely. Actually it is more of an embarrassment for the poor teenager on staff who is reading out all the names.
They have a large arena (all on one level with up to four bases depending on the number of players) and when you arrive they get your «alias» and assign you to a team. Depending on the size of your group and the other parties they have going, you usually have to wait 15 minutes or so for your game. And this isn’t just for kids, I think it would be a fun «team building» activity with co-​workers, too.
While you wait there is a large selection of arcade games to keep you entertained (Dance Revolution, Air Hockey, etc.) The Copper Monkey restaurant is next door, so you can order some decent food, not just pizza, to feed the troops.
When you finish the game, you get a print out with your stats so you can see who decimated whom and then go back for a rematch. My kids and husband totally clean my clock. On the downside you are waiting for your turn in an arcade so there is always lots of whining for quarters, but oh well.
They have coupons and specials on their web site. Also, I’ve played at Ultra-​Zone in Milwaukie and give that place an edge as far as the game experience is concerned. However, I think the arcade, food and facility outside of the game room is superior here.
