North Powersports

Gotta say, I’m a happy customer. To understand my full appreciation, please read the Ode to satisfaction below.
I heard about North Powersports from some coworkers, and they mentioned it’s changed hands recently and is under brand new ownership. Figured, it’s close-​by, people seem cool — so, I took my 2002 Kawi Vulcan in to have the carbs looked at. Nick took exceptional care, inspecting the bike and doing some much-​needed tuning on the rear drum break, clutch, et al. After he accurately diagnosed the problem (issue with air intake, and apparently a carb screw that was adjusted to compensate for the real problem), I gave him the OK to pull apart the carbs, give em a look and a clean, and see if anything else was amiss. He kept me very well-​informed throughout, walking me through what he had found. I will not pretend to have expert knowledge about my motorcycle, but I at least know the basics, so I was able to follow most of what he explained without too much elaboration. But when I had a question or seemed confused, he was more than happy to jump in and help me understand. This made me feel really good, like my bike was being taken care of by the right person.
Lucky for me Nick was so patient, because the day I was supposed to be able to pick her up, her fork seal decided to die and she threw up oil all over his lift. He was very supportive that I wanted to do the work myself in light of this being an unforeseen expense, but very gently explained without saying it outright, that it might be in my best interest to consider letting them take care of it (since I don’t have air tools, a proper stand, the experience, time, or patience for something like replacing the fork seals properly). My stubbornness subsided, and Nick fixed it all up. He had even taken some pictures that he showed me when I came to pick it up.
My Kawi feels like a new bike. More power, more control, and she roars once more (her nickname is La Leona). I thank Nick and North Powersports for taking such good care of both her and I during this process, and I will definitely be coming back… though, hopefully not too soon ;)
