Progress Laundromat

Not so clean! Who wants to see trash, hair and used softener sheets floating on an old linoleum floor. Busy though, go figure. Wonder what it could be if regularly cleaned? Not going back…

I used this Laundromat last night and it is disgusting! First off you smell mold and mildew lingering in the soap dispensers and an unpleasant smell like burnt rubber emanating from the dryers. It’s not good when unpleasant odors dominate a place that should smell like detergent, fabric softeners and or bleach. Unfortunately, not only are the machines dirty, many are broken as well. Also, the dryers impart a bad smell and even though I was trying to dry at the highest temperature, the clothes remained were cool to the touch. I kept on trying other dryers looking for one that operates properly but they were all crap. The only thing you I liked is that it was almost empty!

Clean, nice area and plenty of machines. No complaints here.

Clean laundromat, everything works and functional. No bathroom but I can understand why. Close to a Grocery Outlet to kill some time. Had to dock a star since there isn’t much room to sit if it’s busy. Overall, great place to come do your laundry, in my case, blankets.
Pro tip: Be sure to fluff your blanket every 15 minutes. It’s not the machines fault if your stuff doesn’t dry evenly.

I like this laundromat a lot! The washers wash real good and the dryers dry my clothes fast. It’s always clean and the price is reasonable. The dryers can make the place pretty hot on these hot days, but I’m not going to reduce the rating for that. I’ve used several laundromats in the greater Portland area and this is one of the best I’ve found.
If you need a place to wash your clothes (or big things like comforters), this is it!

Service. The washers worked well +4. Variety of sizes +1 and stink in the first 2 machines I opened –3 (hoping someone stinky had used these before me and it’s not a bigger problem) dryers worked great if you found one that wasn’t full of bird seed or smelled of curry. ⁶⁄₁₀
Price. Better prices than I have seen in most local laundromats but for the sacrifice of cleanliness? ⁸⁄₁₀.
Amenities. The change machines don’t have a lot of change in them, apparently non-​customers are coming in and getting quarters. –2 selection of laundry detergent is small, but you’re close to a new dollar store and a grocery store. Not much room to sit –1 FAQ posted and helpful +1 ⁷⁄₁₀.
Overall it will get the job done but you’ll have to hunt for a dryer that doesn’t have a moldy filthy lint trap and doesn’t smell like someone was cooking curry in it.
It’s really the only reasonably priced one near my house– beats the 1.50 for a tiny load in a washer that barely works at our apartment complex.

It appears this place is owned by the same folks who own Vermont Hills Laundry, which explains a lot.
There are fewer machines here than at VH (same models though), and it is kind of unkempt inside, although not filthy.
As is true for a lot of laundromats, a lot of strange characters congregate, and it is a little creepy after dark.
It is entirely self-​serve. I think the biggest advantage is the location in a large strip mall, so there’s plenty of parking.
All in all, it’s a passable laundromat, but will do nothing to lessen the misery of doing large amounts of laundry.

Clean, plenty of machines, and no one messed with my stuff! We moved into a new house with no washer dryer and until ours is delivered, we were stuck going to the laundry. As far as they go, this one wasn’t bad. They have super large washers, some even have extra rinse options. Good place for king sized comforters and sleeping bags. That had two of the huge dryers that fit a whole queen sized bed worth of bedding and dryer in in 20 minutes.
