I tend to crave Haitian food from time to time so I’m happy that this place is in my neighborhood. The ambience that this restaurant sets off is cutesy. A bit of a rustic flavor with the wooden furniture but also so warm and delightful you don’t ever want to leave. They play some amazing African music that gets you in the groove. I may have to bust out with some dance moves next time. The staff consists of young, energetic, and what seems to be a happy group of people. The service was great! I was greeted by a sweet young lady who let me express my joy about getting my puppy back. She was so caring and attentive I felt like I knew her for years. I ordered the appetizer fritai which included goat, sweet potato fries, akra and plaintains. WAYTOOMUCHFOODFORONE! The food was really good to me. It could use a little more seasoning but at the moment I was so excited to eat I didn’t care. I also had the Haitian patty which was good. I can see myself coming back here. Their menu is extensive and the price is reasonable to me at least. Some ppl. mentioned that the portions are not that big but I didn’t get a meal. Next time I hope I’ll have an appetite for a full meal and hopefully when it comes it’s definitely enough food to satisfy me.

Grandchamps is pure deliciousness! We hosted my husband birthday gathering of 15 people here and it was perfect. They have a large family style table that accommodated us all. We ordered family style and had the wings, coleslaw, plantains, griot, shrimp kreyol and legume vegetarian dish. So good we went back the next day for brunch! My friend also had her birthday catered by Grandchamps with three different types of wings. Again delicious! This is a must eat situation.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. We have been there a dozen times and are always impressed by the cleanliness of the entire place, the kindness of the staff, and the great food at VERY reasonable prices, especially for Brooklyn! Also I have a one-year-old and they have plenty of high chairs, and your food is served very quickly. Definitely check it out!

I came here with great expectations, alas, they were dashed. They are getting 3 stars for the service. The place itself is super cute. Light and Airy. Really interesting paintings and photos on the wall. The table and chairs are fun, a mix of wood and iron. I like the idea of the market set up in the back, but I think it would have been more interesting if there more Haitian products back there – I think they only had Haitian coffee. I can get cornflakes anywhere. The service is great, really friendly and patient. The food. The Menu itself looks wonderful. I love the idea of turning Haitian food(I am a 1st gen Haitian-American) on an angle and making less mysterious and accessible to other people. We ordered the following: Mixed Greens and Watercress Salad: Pro– The dressing was AMAZING! Con: The salad was supposed to have roasted beets and cranberries. The beets were not roasted and there were no cranberries. Fritai: Fried app plate. It was just ok. Codfish Sandwich Griot(Pan fried pork) Tasso Cabrit: Cabrit is Goat, however, the dish had an odd mix of goat and turkey. The entire meal was under whelming and under seasoned. Our waitress was very hospitable, and when we explained about what meal she offered to switch out the turkey for the goat when we said no, she offered us a free desert which we accepted. The Pain Patate(Sweet potato pudding) — was great and we enjoyed it. Perhaps they were having an off day, but I was disappointed. I really want this place to be successful, so I’ll be back.

This place is ok. The staff was super friendly and made and kindly honored the special request that I made. The atmosphere is very pleasant and I would definitely come here again. However… the food wasn’t great. My cod sandwich tasted like it was out of a can and the fried plantains were so dry I had to eat them with mayo. I am hopeful the food will get better as they hit their stride. I’d like to come back but if the meal is as disappointing again as it was this time, I wouldn’t give it a third try.

Absolutely worth trying. I visited for the first time last week and tried the Chicken Sandwich; it literally melted in my mouth with every chew, so perfectly seasoned and fresh. Coffee was on point. Plantains Fosters — motherf*cking on point. I can’t stress enough how satisfied I was with my first experience here! I stayed for a few hours and did some work on my laptop. They played kompa for the first half of my stay, which, being of Haitian descent, was quite alright with me; then switched it up to classic R&B and, eventually, more current music later in the day. Service is A+. I promise I wasn’t paid by the owners to write this review. It was just one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve had eating out in a while. I’ll definitely be back.

I just popped in here today for coffee and wow! I loved the vibe! Great upbeat music and my coffee was also delicious. Only 4 stars because I didn’t taste the food but it’s nice to have a Haitian spot around! Very cute and bright décor and the market area is so sweet! Loved it.

Mmmmmmm. Loving this place. Clean, bright, delicious. The griot sandwich was amazing. As a gentrifier, I am not very familiar with Haitian food, but this was DELICIOUS! I ate half at the table(substantial portions) with some sweet potato fries(more on those in a sec), and took the rest to go. Later on in the day the siren call of the griot with that wonderful slaw was calling to me. The second half never made it home, and it was still amazingly delicious as the flavors melded through the hours of the afternoon into perfect leftover sandwich goodness. Now to the sweet potato fries — which filled me up during my sit down lunch. Get them. Enjoy them. They are awesome — with a flaky crispness for a crust and a perfect chewy-sweet starchy center. Yes to sweet potato fries!

Service is always so amazing here and staff super friendly! The akra is great and the griot is also super good. I wish they gave me more pieces though but that could just be me being greedy. Surprisingly the BBQ wings are also really good – I say surprisingly because it’s a Haitian restaurant and the wings are like American style wings for the most part but they are great!

Took my mom here since it’s now a local spot in the same BedStuy that once had nothing local but Chinese Takeout. The space is setup like a market with communal style benches and tables. You order at the kiosk and get a chip for your table so the server knows who is eating what. I wanted the light version of the meal and opted for a sandwich. There was a sliver if kale and a few chunks of meat. The bread is the hero of this sandwich but I wasn’t into the hard crusted bread, far too much. What little substance it had was very tasty. I would go again and choose wiser.

Nice clean fusion Haitian spot recently open in the area. The food taste really delicious. I tried tried the Fritai, and the chicken sandwich both were good. The attendant check in with us when we were there probably the manager or owner. The problem is the portion size is really small for a Haitian cuisine spot and pricey too. Haitian restaurant usually have large portion. I can’t see real Haitians coming back for seconds, especially the Haitian men who like large portion.

Finally, quick Haitian food for my visits to NYC. Literally, brand new spot with a nice coffee house feel to it. Haitian music, wifi, clean location. I had the Griyo, bannann, diri, ak pwa and it was good. Made this little Haitian Texan happy

Grandchamps definitely lives up to its name! My meal was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the Akra, Griot and Black Rice. The Plantain Fosters was also yummy– a perfect end to a great meal. I highly recommend!

I had a great dinner at Grandchamps last night. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is great, and the restaurant is so cute and clean … I can’t wait to go back! Happy to have you in the neighborhood, Grandchamps! Good luck! Last note: They have a decent number of vegan options(legume is made without shrimp).

As a Haitian-American, and a vegetarian I am super happy about this place! They have items for vegetarians that are not easily found in most Haitian restaurants. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. I recommend the veggie sandwich and the legume(iI’ve tried and enjoyed both!). Fresh and flavorful ingredients that are made in house.

On my quest to find a Haitian restaurant that felt like I was eating in a restaurant and not ordering take-out or dining in a lounge, I happened on this little gem today. First impression: super bright and welcoming. Huge space with some personal seats and some communal tables. With counter service, you order and then take a seat as your food and beverages are brought to your table. Menu is small but thorough, covering Haitian classics like Griot, Tasso, and Fritai. Innovative additions include– Griot Sandwich served Banh-Mi style with pickled slaw and a slice of sweet plantain and a Plantains Foster served with a sweet rum sauce. I ordered the Griot Sandwich and Griot Platter. Platter served with a side of rice and beans, two fried green plantains, and spicy pickled slaw(Pikliz). Prices reasonable and amount of food is filling. They advertise as having a market in the back of the restaurant which for me seemed pretty random as they did not sell any Haitian food items or products. Got a chance to chat with co-owner Sean and he was very open to suggestions. Said he was looking into getting some Haitian coffee at the very least. The market is the biggest gripe for me but that can easily be improved as they are only 5 weeks young. Loved the Haitian art on the wall. Let’s get more of it! It’s not as good as my mom’s food but that’s what Sunday visits are for! It’s definitely a good substitute and a welcomed addition!

Recommendation: a charming neighborhood spot for a quick lunch(try the Griot sandwich!) — probably worth a trip from other parts of Brooklyn. Food: There was a really high level of execution on both the Codfish sandwich and the Griot sandwich(had never had this before, a Caribbean mix of spices on pulled pork). Sweet potato fries were excellent as well — they left the skin on which was a nice touch. The soy latte I had early in the morning was rich and well prepared. Incredibly high value on the sandwiches(around or under $ 10) so I recommend starting with those. Service: Each encounter I’ve had with an employee was incredibly friendly(given, we are still in week 1). The wait has never terribly long for coffee at the counter or for food service. Servers made several checks to make sure that my food was good and whether I needed anything. They seem to really have procedures down – already running on all cylinders. Ambiance: This space gets a lot of light which is great(hopefully will not be drafty come Jan 2016), there is some very charming wooden furniture and a few paintings on the wall. It feels like a place I could bring my mom or bring my kid. Overall: this does not feel like a pop-up or a first effort – Grandchamps knows what it is and what it is doing and is worth your time.
