AMAZINGGG jerk and oxtail. The food is hot and fresh every time I order from here and the price is cheap compared to these hipster restaurants opening up in this area.

Delicious jerk chicken here. Very smoky flavor that’ll make you feel it has been smoking for hours! I’d say the rice was a little overcooked, but that’s more of a preference. Also very cheap, small dinner is 6 bucks and a large dinner is 8 bucks. Nowhere to sit at this place, but you want to try this jerk chicken. Trust me!

The food at Mitchell’s Kitchen is really good I will say that. The reason why I’m giving them such a low review has to do with my most recent and final visit. I ordered three small stew chickens and two small oxtails that came to $ 32, which are really good normally. However this was not the case this time around on my recent visit. I live close by and wanted to bring my co-workers some lunch from here. Needless to say when I got home and refrigerated the food on anticipation of having it the next day for lunch. Myself and my co-workers noticed a horrible smell coming from the food, turns out the rice was bad, it was very sticky with a foul odor coming from it! The meat was fine but the rice had spoiled. I was embarassed because I talked this place up so high, saying how good it was to my co-workers. When I returned the next day to let them know about what happened to the food that I just got the day before. The guy running the place that day Leslie I think is his name was very rude to me about the situation. Making it seem like it was my fault the rice spoiled. He did give me a large oxtail for my inconvenience but was not happy about doing so. That doesn’t cover the remaining $ 20 I paid for spoiled food. I had the large oxtail I received for my inconvenience for lunch the next day. The rice was fine and I did nothing different from my previous order. The rice was spoiled when I got it obviously, so check your food before you leave. I will not being going back to this place nor will my co-workers. They as do I feel like I was mistreated as a customer. They lost a local customer and potential business over $ 20 of spoiled food.

This is a nice Authentic Jamaican restaurant. Their chicken soup is delicious. The jerk chicken is not bake like other restaurant, its dry and not oily. Real jamaican style jerk chicken. Very very friendly staff. The fish cakes are nice too but a bit too spicy.
