When my favorite Mexican spot on Bedford suddenly closed down I thought that I wouldn’t ever find a good local spot near the crib… But alas, the Mexican Gods have answered me with this spot. Let me paint a picture for you, it was Cheatday, I was craving Mexican and it was 9pm… my co-pilot and I search on my favorite go to Unilocal for ideas and Boom, local, they have Fundido AND outdoor space, BYOB!!! So good… check this spot out! And they have dope staff shirts!

So good. Fresh. Cheap. Authentic. Service isn’t that prompt or great though but good food.

Bomb food, excellent service and literal baby-sized burritos. The Halsey with chipotle tofu + veggies, sour cream and no lettuce is my go-to order. Super veggie taco is also delish. I’ll keep coming back.

Very slow service. Food was ok but over seasoned. I ordered fajitas and ate a little bit but it was really overseasoned. I put it in the refrigerator for later but ended up throwing it out because I didn’t want the seasoning to disagree with me. No please It looks nice and the people seem nice. But I won’t eat there again.

First off, let me say that I am from California and am a big fan of taco trucks and know a thing or two about Mexican food. I came with no expectations because I hate to be that disappointed foodie. I ordered the El Michoacano burrito and my friend had the Mucho Grande burrito which were a hearty portion size. But we were disappointed with the BYOB and were suggested by the waiter to go across the street to the liquor store. I do wish there were chips and salsa instead of the knock off chips they serve. Will I be back? Probably not but I do wish I could have enjoyed the cute backyard seating.

I just had the chicken mole plate and a carne asada taco, best mexican food I’ve had so far in BedStuy Very flavorful, chicken was moist and service was great. Would definitely recommend them.

Food was awesome and the server was very attentive. They have a backyard space that will be great for the summer. I will definitely be back!

The food is good, no matter what you get. Delivery is reasonably quick. Almost every time I have ordered online they have left off my side of chips, which has been frustrating. I am writing this review to call attention to the issue. That is the only reason I am not giving five stars. I will definitely order again, despite the small mishap! Thanks

Love the chicken mole Halsey burrito! Very good guac too. Just say no to diseased chain burritos. Chipotle is nasty, Oaxaca over on Lewis is frequently empty, Tepache is always poppin’. Updates *steak nachos on point *backyard!

I tried. I really did. I wasn’t expecting this to be an authentic taqueria as those seem to be hard to come by in Bed Stuy and just New York in general. But C’MON! Yes I’m somewhat of a taco snob, I’ve been spoiled by living in places where street tacos and taquerias with BOMB tacos were just not this hard to come by. First order I got carne asada tacos. Meat was cut too thick and not seasoned well. I’m used to tender skirt steak with just the right amount of grease. The queso fundido was even worse. Cheese wouldn’t even re-melt when I heated it up(it arrived cold) and the chorizo(which was also in the food I ordered most recently that’ll I get to), tastes like ground beef. Chorizo should never taste like ground beef. Last night I wanted nachos w chorizo, thinking this would be a safe option and a shrimp taco. NOPE. I can’t get over how disgusting the chorizo is. Idk why I thought the first time was a fluke… I should’ve just picked chicken but lord only knows how that tastes, we’re 0 for 2 on meats at this point. I spent $ 20 with delivery + tip on this meal and didn’t even finish half. The shrimp taco was okay but the tortilla fell a part instantly. Even the aguas frescas were disappointing! How?!? Horchata was bland. I’ve never had bland Horchata in my life. Where’s the cinnamon in this bih? And the Jamaica tasted like it had nutrisweet in it. You know, I’ve never left a Unilocal review this long but I felt compelled to write in hopes that whoever oversees their menu can get it together. All of these reviews about«tasty food» are a crock and probably come from people whose idea of good tacos consist of Ortega box kits. I cannot and will not ever again. I shouldn’t have expected this to be good. Any Taqueria that has the word«Mexican grill» in its name, usually is not good or authentic Mexican food… Which is fine as long as it tastes decent. This is not the case here. Maybe they have other food that tastes better. Unfortunately, I’m not open to giving it a try.

Tepache melds modern Mexican fare with friendly service for an experience that is as tasty as it is pleasant. I love how affordable and extensive the menu is, and the BYOB standing makes it a perfect spot for a cheap night out. The cactus tacos and chile relleno were enough to merit a second visit. I’m new to Bedstuy, but this place seems to consistently draw a crowd. It seems to be a welcome addition, and now that I’m moving here more permanently, I’m sure I’ll be popping into Tepache a lot more often.

When a mean Mexican hunger comes along, you must simply satisfy it. And that is what I did. After an early mediocre breakfast at Dunkin Donuts, I sought after something highly satisfying and filling. My burrito from Tepache was just that. I’m about an 8 minute walk from here so I placed an order for pickup through Eat 24. Even ended up calling the restaurant to add something to the order and did so with no issues. The place isn’t very big, but nothing close to a hole in the wall. There are window seats as well as seating along the wall opposing the register and food prep area. My food pickup was quick and painless. The vibe here seemed pretty relaxed and I most certainly plan on returning. Really happy to see some solid, moderately priced mexican food so close to home. Last but not least, the beast that is.er.was my chicken burrito. It’s $ 8.50 and guac is included. Need I say more? I actually will… this burrito was heavy. Large and heavy. Like an «I got everything at Chipotle» banger with a smaller price tag ;) It was flavourful and filling, the chicken was seasoned well and I’m impressed. My mother had two carne asada tacos and her one complaint was that the meat was too fatty. Regardless, she did enjoy them and had no complaints otherwise. If you’re in Bed Stuy and craving Mexican, this place is the way to go. I avoided delivery upon seeing some unhappy reviews and was satisfied with my decision. No one likes a cold burrito.

I normally order for pickup or delivery, so I’ve never actually dined in; however, whenever I call the staff are friendly… That is if you can through on the line. Do not attempt to call for delivery or pickup on a Friday or Saturday night… No one will answer and you will be left hangry unless you decide to dine in. Love love love the steak and the shrimp tacos or burritos. The only thing that’s frustrating is you cannot order cilantro separate from onions… I am Cali native and I have never seen this practice at ANY taqueria. That’s something that needs a fixin’. The pork and chicken are not memorable so skip them. Happy Taco eating

Tepache is seriously a gem. The food is so well seasoned and delicious. It’s also awesome that their prices are right for the portion they give you. The décor is pretty basic but comfortable. The service is good. The burritos are seriously HUGE. Just expect a food baby after tackling one of those. The lamb and fish tacos tastes amazing. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’m anxiously waiting for them to get their liquor license so I can grab a margarita while I dine.

Last two times I came was really good… Unfortunately today wasn’t a good day. maybe because it alot of orders at the same time, but that doesn’t mean I should get sloppy, drenched burrito. I decided to try a kale burrito with a little twist added some shrimp. When I open it up I got drenched sloppy mess… my kale was buried so deep in oil and tomato salsa really unappetizing, it looked like hot dark green soggy salad… thank God I ordered the rice and beans on the side… since I don’t like wasting money, I just took out the shrimp and ate it with the rice which was good… for $ 23.00 I definitely need a do over. I guess I will stick to my tacos only…

I don’t know what it is with me and Mexican food, but I just can’t get enough of it. I’ve seen the Tepache burrito’s and was blown away by how massive and heavy they are. Burritos like mini food weights! Now, imagine my surprise when I find out the place isn’t too far from my job and at $ 8.50 this was a no brainer! The following day I made sure to order exactly what my friend had the night before, a Halsey Burrito with barbacoa. I also happened to talk my coworker into ordering with me and we were both pleased with the delivery of the food as well as how it tasted. Massive pillow size portion of burrito stuffed with flavorful and juicy meat, rice, guacamole, beans, lettuce/tomato and queso! At first I said to myself this is enough food for lunch and dinner, but haha, nope. Both my coworker and I polished the burrito in one sitting, that’s how good it was. I was sad to finish my food, but I’m currently dreaming of when I will eat it again. Next time I might venture to try their tacos or nachos.

Good food but the service wins here. I appreciate kind and genuine people… like when their personality is so authentic and raw you just fall in love with them. I’ve been having a bad week and I’m starting to drool over people with good hearts and I think that’s the type of staff Tepache has. Enough of the soft stuff. I ordered fish quesadillas which came with the works. It was good and the fish was deeply seasoned to perfection, but I prefer my tortilla a bit more crispier. The beans need work because they were way too flavorless. I think I used a whole bottle of hot sauce on those bad boys. The rice was fantastic though. They give you these complimentary chips. Compliment is in complimentary right? Don’t give me any chips that won’t compliment the meal. Onion rings without the onion flavor(you guys hear the frustration in my tone or nah?). ANYWAY! The place is cute, the food is good for the price, and the service is amazing. OH, OHOH… I had the churros for dessert which I LOVED. That sauce that they provide you with to pour over your stick? Now thats COMPLIMENTARY!
