My boyfriend and I are visitors to this small town in Everett, PA. We stopped by during the afternoon to purchase an orange. However, the gentleman greeted us kindly and took the time to tell us what was and not on sale. We left out with more than an orange and we are very happy with our purchases. We plan to stop by tomorrow to purchase more pumpkin spice dip before our return to MD, «hope you are open». Thanks for the positive greeting and happy new year.

It’s no Berkeley Bowl or Monterey Market, but if you want to get a taste of the food that’s grown and made in the region, Mile Level Country Market is a great place to shop. Great produce. Great prices. Just be careful pulling out of the driveway because cars and trucks barrel down that hill. Oh, and you may not want to shop hungry — and there’s no reason to with The Meadows frozen custard right next door. Not that you’ll spend a lot of money. The haul we got full of sweet corn, homegrown tomatoes, watermelon, local peaches and plums, bananas, and house made sauerkraut was less than we spent on a case of beer in Bedford. But our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. So we’ve been forced to eat a diet rich in sweet sweet summer fruits and vegetables. Love this place. It’s a must stop every time I’m in the area.

It’s a shame that I only get up to this gem twice a year. The Seasonal items, the Jams, the Candy, and of course the terrific produce. I make it a point to stop and see what there is and I always walk away with more than I intended. Oh well that’s the fun of it. If you are in the area please go check it out.
