Wow! How embarrassing that Lisa was so RUDE that I had to formally complain to the general manager. Equally as embarrassing was that the entire staff wasn’t surprised by her TERRIBLE behavior. Lisa! Lisa! Lisa! You should be ashamed. We have a service animal trained to alert for seizures. She refused us service(even after I explained this to her). When her coworker and I went back to discuss her poor behavior, she marched away(literally almost running me over) and yelled, «I don’t care!» Luckily, Peggy and Trina were helpful and I wish I could review them on my experience with them… but the fact that Lisa was my first encounter with this establishment and ultimately the representative for this restaurant — the Eatery gets 1 Star(and that’s only because I had to round up). I only hope she wakes up tomorrow and realizes that life is short and the way we treat people is how we are measured. Lisa — if you are the owner, you should do something else. Clearly you are not happy with your life. If you’re not that the owner, I hope you either change or the owners cut you loose.

I wrote this review before I even got my food. The owner of this little establishment seems like she’s into cute, sarcastic comments. Don’t even think about asking for something that is not EXACTLY as it is listing on the menu or she might ask everyone else at the table if they also have any«special requests», proceed to roll her eyes, then assure you that she’s the owner and she can do whatever she wants. When asked if you want bottled or tap water, if you ask about the tap water, she might say that she gets it out of the faucet and also uses it to water her plants. After all, «it’s from the Juniata River». Oh, then she might eat crow once she realizes that she is out of her sundries tomato wrap, and then ask you to modify your order as if special requests are now acceptable when coming from the other direction. Don’t let this quaint storefront lure you into this pragmatic restaurant. If I want to be offended while I eat, I will go to Ed Debivics!

Ate here on 5÷10÷13. Very quaint antique shop with a restaurant inside. We actually almost missed it. If it wasn’t for Unilocal we would have thought this was just an antique shop. Nice menu of soups, sandwiches, salads and dessert. Had the pepper soup which was sort of like stuffed peppers turned into soup. Also the roast beef with Swiss on a pretzel roll was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food and I would definitely recommend this place for the food, good service and unique atmosphere. Oh, forgot I had the 3 bite berry berry berry pie, yummy!

I love this place! This is a European styled café located on the lower floor of a huge antique and artisan’s shopping haven. Lit and painted panels of sidewalk buildings adorn the walls with café styled tables and chairs. They offer two of the most delicious homemade soups daily and I am a big fan of their ham and bean soup which is loaded with flavor and their chicken and homemade dumpling soup. Hubby loves their clam chowder and my daughter who lives in this town has tried them all and especially likes their french onion and Italian wedding soups. Their menu consists of very unique sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and homemade desserts. Most of the freshly baked breads are multi grain, some with herbs and fruits. They have croissants, forcaccia, cheese and herb breads as well. My mouth is watering just typing this! The Robin Hood is one of my favorites with stacked ham, mozzarella with a horseradish sauce, lettuce and tomato on forcaccia. The Rapunzel is ham and swiss melted on a toasted croissant with grilled pineapple and cream cheese. I’m dying here! Hubby always gets the same thing which is the Sir Lancelot, baked ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato on an herb onion bread and a side salad. My daughter loves the Faire Maiden which is the almond lemon chicken salad on a croissant with cream cheese, lettuce and tomato, but she often times gets one of their special salads instead. Her hubby likes the Friar Tuc of smoked chicken breast, melted provolone, mayo, lettuce and tomato on onion and herb bread. Are you drooling yet? The salads are unbelievable as well and so inventive and fresh. My granddaughter always gets the taco salad which is huge and piled high and she eats every bite, but she has ranch dressing on it? I have to think about that one. Many of the salads are topped with either or a combination of grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, nuts, raisins and fresh cut veggies. The salads are a meal in themselves. The dressings are homemade and unique like cranberry mustard, lemon poppy seed, walnut raspberry vinaigrette, burgundy poppy seed, lemon chipolte and then you have your usual offerings of bleu cheese and so on. The desserts are homemade of course and ridiculously sinful. Black Forest cake, Key lime meltdown, peanut butter panic, oatmeal cranberry lemon parfaits, huge chocolate chunk cookies, fried ice cream(the best I have ever had) and more. They serve afternoon tea in their Victorian room, which my daughter and I do plan on doing one day. The menu for this always calls my name and something I plan to do in the near future. They are open seven days per week for a long lunch only between 10:00am to 3:00 pm. Hit them up before you start shopping and then again when you are done. Now go and wash the drool off your chin.
