This is my favorite restaurant. I love being able to get smaller portions. That way I can enjoy more than just an entrée. Love the atmosphere, service, and food. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. This is my «go to» place. Yum!

So things have changed since the last time I have been here. Everything I tried this go around was fantastic and surprising. Our whole party on Saturday was impressed not only with the food, but the level of service provided. Waiters were on top of their game. I had a three course meal with oysters, grilled octopus, and a fluke. It got better and better each course. The flavors of the grilled octopus and fluke were wonderful. Excellent job by the chef. Perhaps I wasn’t expecting much based on my previous couple experiences, maybe I ordered the wrong thing the last times, or maybe they’ve upped their game. Regardless the Pluckemin Inn is a place I’d definitely like to come back to after my wallet has recovered.

Reservations honored. Waitstaff welcoming and knowledgable. Food excellent and there was a good wine list. The entrée section was extremely limited. In most fine restaurants, and this is a fine restaurant, I want to work my way through all of the dishes. Here I was hard put to find appetizers or entrees that were appealing. Whatever we had was very good, but the selection was restricted to maybe five dishes, no prime steaks or chops… I see the menu online, but it was not the same as the night we were there. Last time we sat upstairs, this time down stairs… perhaps a different and disappointing menu. The Bar scene was packed and the restaurant empty on a Friday night?

Celebrated my birthday dinner here with my husband, my son and daughter in law. The service was excellent as well as the food. The portion sizes are small however I left feeling very satisfied. I had a pasta dish that was very tasty and my husband ordered the steak special which was phenomenal. They sent over a special dessert for my birthday which was sweet and very unexpected since we didn’t tell them it was my birthday, they just heard us talking about it. Everything at the Inn was perfect but it was a very expensive evening.

Beautiful restaurant, all wood inside and very nice fireplace and wine cellar. Food was excellent. I started out with the wagu beef bresaola which was extremely flavorful and well seasoned. I then had the lamb ragu pasta which was very good as well! Nice special occasion meal, will be back

I have eaten here on numerous occasions, mostly at the bar. I have also rented one of their private rooms downstairs. All visits have been excellent– the staff is very attentive, the bar area is fun and the food has always been great. They tend to serve contemporary American fare… nice preparation. Their pizza is excellent as well as all of their lunch sandwiches. The private room that I reserved for a business event is a great space.

Dining room is expensive. Bar area is a bit cheaper. Kind of an older boring crowd. Wood is a bit dark. OK to go just once since there isn’t much in the area.

Was here having dinner /drinks while AAA was coming to fix my flat tire. The food i had was a mixed bag — I had mostly appetizers; remember i liked one dish a lot but the rest were just okay. The service was great though and my friends are a big fan, so we’ll check it out again soon and I may update my review

Wow here at bar celebrating anniversary and watching national championship. Awesome, great tuna tartare. Got to have spaghetti Nero(white clam with Squid ink noodles) and then finish with rum raisin ice cream and coffee — just a wonderful night!

Great execution from front door to dishwasher! This place knows who they are and delivers, almost literally! They do takeout, at least for in my opinion the best burger in the area. A terrific bar, stocked with great liquors and creative bartending for wonderful, inventive cocktails. Brian, the wine guy, does an amazing job. He and and Brooke Sabel at 90 Acres elite the bar with world class knowledge and selection. My experience with Brooke is with broad base of very affordable delicious wines. I have yet to work with Brian, yet, but I know he is very well centered guy and loves being helpful with wine! I have had business lunches here and could not ask for more, the bar menu is superb. A great anytime restaurant, but little more formal than 90 Acres. Would pick this place for any occasion, though, these people know how to make anyone feel very comfortable and cared for, anytime.

As one of our favorite restaurants, I have to say my New Years Eve experience was less than memorable. Four of us had a seating at 9:30 for the anticipated four course meal. Our third course was not served until 2 hours later. Needless to say dessert was served and finished by 12:00 a.m. Reason: A lost ticket! Only found out AFTER I inquired. The manager did comp our bottle of wine, but then it was too late. Appreciated, but too late. Service was good. Food average and much less than expected by this«fine» establishment. The lamb was fatty with minimum quantities of meat. For $ 150.00 a plate and $ 800.00 bill not including pre cocktails at bar, this evening let me down. It left my company down. Way down. Yes it was a celebration of the new year. Not a Happy one as anticipated. By the way, made reservations after a birthday celebration on December sixth for 2 in which almost $ 500 was spent. And yes, had spent New Years there last year. And dinners in between. As mentioned, this was a favorite dining establishment of ours. Past tense. Sent from my iPhone

I had never been to The Pluckemin Inn until yesterday. My son had arranged for our family and the family of his now fiancé, to have a late luncheon upstairs. The food was just terrific — from the soup, through the entrée all the way to the great desserts. The staff was top notch and knew what I wanted before I knew I wanted it. The staff made this engagement luncheon just perfect! I can’t wait to go back now that I’ve been to this gem!!!

3.5 stars. interior — nice décor, basement is a little too dark. Service — great. Food — good, but not great. Salmon — ok. Shrimp — good, but burn’t. Dessert was the best of 3.

Great place for a cozy special occasion dinner. We had cocktails, a three course dinner and a great bottle of wine. The atmosphere was that of a cozy farmhouse and all of the good and drink was delicious.

I will reiterate that this is a great place. We had some nice cocktails and dinner this time. The serving staff was excellent. However the hostess was most unpleasant. There was much confusion over whether our party of 10 was worthy of being allowed to sit on the patio.

For the most part I had a good dining experience. Highlights: plucky cocktail, octopus appetizer, pork chop, and chocolate cheesecake parfait. Nice atmosphere and service. The not so great: Steep prices for the portion size. Mahi mahi had an uneven thickness so the edges were dry and it could have used a little more seasoning. VERY pricey wine list. I don’t recall seeing any bottles under $ 50, but the wine list was so ridiculously big, that I could have spent all night looking through it. I would recommend a one-page list of featured wines to simplify the process of selecting a good bottle. Many good restaurants do such list with bottles ranging from the low $ 30s and up. I may or may not return depending on whether I want to spend almost $ 100 a person.

The overall experience is quite pleasant. The dining room is quiet and relaxing. The staff is attentive and friendly. I do have to say that some of the prices are way out of line and perhaps that is why they are considered an old school establishment. The NY strip special for $ 70 vs the menu strip for $ 48 is questionable. Having a 75 page wine list is impressive but is it realistic to collect bottles and age the inventory with thousands of dollars sitting on a shelf scaring away customers. I was pleased with my visit since I am an experienced foodie and know all the lookouts so I cannot say I got robbed and I will return. Also please recognize the two valet brothers who are very friendly and polite and set a good example of young men doing a good job for low wages so tip them well!

Went here for a lunch meeting. It was a nice quiet place to have a great meal and talk in the relatively quiet atmosphere. Service was awesome and the grilled vegetable sandwich I had was particularly good. Though I was thinking of getting it with a salad instead of fries the salad of the day did not entice me so I went the default route. Though I wish I still had a better salad choice I was glad to try the fries which I found better than the usual fair at many places. Before lunch we shared the crab cake appetizer which was also quite good coming with deep fried vegetables as well. I left feeling surprised this place has been off my radar for a good long time — in other words — I’ll be back…

Had a wonderful lunch last week. This is a traditional American restaurant in the best sense, of the sort you find dotting«horse country NJ». Cordial, professional service at the bar(where we sat) and up front. We enjoyed salads, the excellent smoked salmon /pita plate, and I had the rigatoni with sausage & broccoli rabe. I was mad at myself for not getting the pulled pork, which I spotted in front of another diner — mine was good, that that looked amazing. Warm upscale atmosphere, fire place, etc as you’d imagine. Even though we went late, the dining area was full, a testament to the restaurant’s popularity. Reasonable upscale prices, as expected. I’ll return anytime I’m in that area. A quick edit… I noticed the word«clubby» in another review — that’s it exactly. I’m sure all the local golfers love this place.
