Wesley Haynes has been my daughter’s piano teacher for a year and a half, now. She is eight and her progress while working with Wes has been amazing. Wes is a local musician who has taught «J» traditional piano skills while at the same time honoring her love of playing the blues by incorporating these skills into her lessons. Because Wes has his own band and plays with several other bands, it’s been special for my daughter to witness him performing: a chance to experience a real-​world result and excitement to what she is learning. If you are looking for a piano teacher with a unique ability to work with young children, keeping them focused while learning and having fun, Wes is someone you should contact.

My husband and I run a small music school in Cedar Park, and have been trying to convince Wesley to come teach for us, but we haven’t been lucky enough to get him yet. Perhaps the fact that we’re forty minutes away has something to do with it? Anyway, Wes is a genuinely nice guy with a mean musical streak — he’s played shows with my husband for a couple years now, and he’s proficient in every style from R&B, to rock, to funk, to jazz. He has a good teaching demeanor: easy to talk to and a good listener. (If we could hire him, we would!)
