I walked in expecting the usual bar fare. I was deliciously surprised when I got my mini lamb chops in wine reduction. Wow! They were so darn good. Perfect flavor and texture. Came back another time for more and also got the red pepper gouda soup. A huge bowl of savory soup that was different than anything else I’d had. This place is a gourmet delight hidden away in a deafening bar atmosphere. Bring ear plugs so you can enjoy your meal in peace and order the non-bar fare items for a wonderful culinary experience. Or holler your appreciation in between bites – you’ll fit right in!

A great find for a cold rainy Sunday afternoon! This casual Irish pub has a fun atmosphere, freshly prepared, upscale bar food and much more! The friendly service made for a great experience.

Love this place and the people here. Since the cooking staff has had some turnover there has been a noticeable difference in the awesome food I’m used to getting here. It’s a shame but I still have tons of love for Sean Bolan’s

This is the first place I visited when I moved to the area and I love Sean Bolans! I have been there many times and bring visiting family to this restaurant. Everything on the menu is great. My favorites are the shepherd’s pie and the roasted red pepper /gouda soup. Whatever you get, you can’t go wrong. Other tips: They have live music on the weekends, and on Sundays they offer $ 5 burgers.

My biggest fail was coming to an Irish Pub and getting seafood. The crab cake was small and mostly filler/back fin meat. The crab dip was loaded with horse radish and oddly had tomato. That being said, the rest of my family enjoyed their Irish faire and said it was awesome! The stew and shepard’s pie got high marks! Service, atmosphere, and music were great. I will be back, but will get their specialities!

It would amaze anyone in Harford county to walk into a place with a vast craft beer selection and a bartending staff in which you know everyone’s first name. The food is great, the beer is better and if you’re looking for a place to call home before home, this is it. With a chalkboard wall updated with craft brews from here in Maryland to out west, you are sure to find something that suits you. Whether you’re looking for good Irish pub food, a good beer or good conversation, you have to look no further than the best kept secret in Harford counties own backyard.

Excellent food… Irish pub grub but with a high quality twist on ingredients and good attention to detail. I’ve admittedly only eaten here once, but honestly I was pretty blown away by the quality of the food. Whoever is in the kitchen clearly cares a lot about what’s going out the door and into the dining room. Very eager to go back and try some other items on the menu. The salmon wrap and the fries are delicious.

I love the Irish bar atmosphere of this place. Great beer selection, good bar food, and they regularly have good live music. They’re open on holidays, which is great when you’re in town and want to escape for a little bit on Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.

We have eaten here at least 10 times, we’ve always had something different and I can honestly say none of it has been bad. This is some of the best food in town! It can get a bit loud downstairs so unless you are going to watch a game I would say try to eat upstairs. Everybody who works there is always nice, you never get the sense that they don’t enjoy their jobs. The Guinness stew, the pork chop, the crab cakes, the onion rings, and the bread pudding are some of our favorites. It really is just wonderful food and a great place to eat.

Nice and friendly server. Good selection of beers and spirits. Good sized menu with lots of entrees to chose from. I got a beer and the Bolan’s Steak Salad. Steak was good and not over cooked. The salad ingredients were fresh and crisp. I had a wonderful dining experience here and I will be back soon. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

I crave their chicken tenders at least once a week. They are the best tenders I have ever had, I am drooling thinking about them. The fried green tomato BLT is also great, as is their soft pretz’s(the Jameson mustard is so much yum). Beer selection is good and the bartenders are always pleasant. Now excuse me while I convince my boyfriend to bring me some of the tenders…

Classic Irish Bar. Guinness, Great Food and they have a good place upstairs to have private parties. The food doesn’t get the notoriety it should, maybe that’s because of the beer selection. Sean Bolan’s sits in the heart of town where the courteous staff waits to pour you a pint. Not a huge menu but I’ve had the Shepherds Pie, filet, fish and soups are awesome. This is a staple for locals every week and not just March 17th! Go Irish, go to Bolan’s.

I’ve been here a ton of times for small parties. You can rent the back room in the upstairs and it’s a great place for about 15 – 20 people to hang out. The food is really good. Wings, onion rings, and crab dip are tasty. The shepherds pie and fish and chips are good as well. Good beer selection. Good spot for a group outting or a party.

The traffic on 95 to Baltimore for our culinary adventure was so bad we diverted to Bel Air Maryland. What a nice find at Sean Bolan’s Irish Pub. Great bar setup. A downstairs and an up. We chose up for the view overlooking the town center. My friend had the Banger Sandwich with champ(Irish mashed potatoes) plus a cup of the Irish stew and strangely enough for an Irish pub– a hot soft pretzel. He loved it all. ME: An overflowing bowl of Irish Stew chocked full of lamb pieces, sweet carrots and potatoes. The broth reminded me of a Guinness broth from Dublin. This filled me up like an entrée would. The Guineas was poured perfectly and was a nice accompaniment to a nice meal. Service: Very Good.
