Shear Experience

I have been quite loyal to Erin, the first stylist I tried at Shear Experience. They always offer me coffee or a glass of wine. They know how to protect my neck when I’m getting my hair washed and even massage my scalp! I have loved every cut and color here… something I don’t say often. Don’t even pay attention to the old negative reviews on here. I am pretty sure those stylists mentioned are long gone. It seems everyone I know goes here and has someone they swear by.

So disappointed. I went in for a trim, and I walked out with something I could have done myself. One minute worth of snipping cost me 17 bucks. Didn’t wash, didn’t syle, didn’t play around with it to see if it sat well. She just snipped the back off, and cut my bangs way to short and sent me on my way. So, as hair was piled in the back of my collar and I was trying to wipe off the hair covering my face and neck, I said ‘I also had a waxing.’ Well, that wasn’t so well either. I left with wax still on my face. Hairs still where they are not suppose to be, and now I will be going somewhere else right now to fix the mistakes I spent 30 dollars on. Just, don’t go.

Went in for a standard flat-​top. Halfway through my cut, she refused to touch the top saying that she wasn’t good at doing it. She didnt even use clippers to fade me. It was all scissors and a comb. She was also tactless with her choice of conversation. She said she wasnt used to doing this type of haircut in California. Well… Sorry to say, it’s a very traditional men’s cut, even in California. Never again. Would never recommend.

I’ve been going to Shear Experience for 2 years now and am always happy with my color and cuts done by Lori. My teenage girls have both gotten cuts there as well by different sytlists and we have been very happy with them as well. All the ladies are friendly and welcoming.

I call B S on Ann S. and her review. I have gone to Shear Experience three times and each time all the ladies are polite and very friendly. I work at our local grocery store and I know many and I mean MANY people who have gone to Shear Experience and LOVE their hair after they go there. Now if you want to talk about TGF well I walk by their window daily and most days all the chairs are EMPTY. HMMM wonder why? I will bet my paycheck the hair stylist are way better at Shear Experience then TGF.

Belfair really needed this wonderfully decorated, hip little salon. It’s a great addition alongside the Mosquito Fleet Winery next door.
I have been here a handful of times, as has my husband. I have generally been happy with my haircuts (they’ve been simple cuts), but as experience varies with each employee, I have gotten a less-​than-​stellar cut. It was my first time with a stylist I had never seen there (a bigger blond woman whose station was up at the front of the store). I asked for layers, and I got three very distinct, very choppy layers. I couldn’t put my hair up in a ponytail because the top (shortest) layer would not stay in place. I have since found a wonderful stylist at Pzazz in Silverdale that I will continue to visit for my hair needs.
On the other hand, my husband has visited many times for his own hair upkeep and he’s been placed with the middle aged lady with auburn red hair (I’m so sorry, I don’t remember names). He’s always been happy with their service and looks forward to his visits!
I no longer go indoor tanning, but Shear Experience has added to their lineup of services some tanning & tanning lotions. Tempting, but not for me :) It is nice that they offer this, though, as Coconutts is long-​gone and the Bear Creek Tanning Salon was mediocre at its best.
Have not used this salon for nails but I would give them a try. I was in the salon when someone else was getting their pedicure, and I had a look when she was finished. It was very nicely done!
Thank you to Shear Experience for bringing a slightly more upscale salon to this little town!
