Spacious room, great beds with firm mattresses(we hate soft beds!), good rate(though no one asked us about discounts; will have to ask). We like the hardwood floors! Wifi works. I like the little«nook» with mini fridge, microwave, counter, and single-serve brewer. Creamer provided. A roll of paper towels — who provides those? Nice little touches!

I stayed in this motel several times over the last few months of 2014 while ealing with my mother’s estate. Some of my stays were for a week or more at a time. I have also stayed at another nearby hotel and this place is far and above in all areas. The motel was recently renovated, so it does not have that«overused» hotel room feel at all. The wood floors are great for people like me with allergies. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spotless, and the rooms are spacious. One of the great things about this motel, is that the wood floors are heated in the winter, which is when I was staying there. The motel staff are professional and friendly and you are provided with several handouts that list local places to eat, which I found to be helpful since I was staying for such a long time. The cleaning staff are also friendly and do a great job. I cannot say enough positive things about this place and I would make an extra effort to stay here again. It is affordable and definitely a big step up from the other hotels in the vicinity. The only thing that I can say that is regretful about this place is that there are not more rooms for more people to experience what a good affordable motel should be like.

When Fireside took over Comfort Inn and prices increased to over $ 100 per night, I decided to check this place out. I hadn’t stayed at Yankee Clipper for years. The place has been totally renovated and is amazing. It’s clean, comfortable, affordable.

Tired after a long day in Acadia/Bar Harbor my husband and I needed to stop and get some shut eye. Driving along Rte. 1 south from Bar Harbor, ME there are many roadside motels. We did a few drive-by’s and continued on. Its hard to know what you’ll find and its really a roll of the dice. Thankfully my husband and I took other Unilocaler’s advice and stopped at Yankee Clipper in Belfast, ME. We were so happy we did. This place was totally renovated recently, is super clean, and nicely decorated — no dark wood paneling here! The front desk agent, Luke, asked if we had AAA or other discounts that he could apply to our rate. Professional and friendly employees, nicely appointed rooms, free Wi-Fi and reasonable prices. This is a great choice along Rte. 1. I highly recommend it!

Called to see if there were any rooms available. Luke was nice enough to ask if he could apply any discounts, without us having to ask. Price was very reasonable. They have laundry on site and can provide change, detergent and softener. Provided local restaurant and pub recommendations. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and spotless. Everything was remodeled 1 ½ years ago-it looks brand new. Like the laminate floors vs. carpet. Coffee pot brews single cups. And real half and half in the room! Nice touch. We’ve stayed in different hotels the last week, and this one is the best by far. Little gem of a place!

This is a relatively new property with laminate flooring and all new furnishings. It was exceptionally clean. Manager/owner was particularly helpful. Location is great, though not water front, walking distance to the walk bridge to the downtown area across the water where there are lots of shops, restaurants, and pubs. There are also a couple of restaurants near the motel. We stayed only one night, but it was very impressive. I would stay here again and definitely recommend to a friend!
