I love everything about this restaurant, the wonderful food, wine, excellent and friendly service, and the décor and atmosphere. You forget you’re in Houston. It’s like flying to Spain for dinner. We had the Salpicon de Mariscos and the Octopus appetizers. Then the paella. All was superbly delicious. The wines(Albarino and Rioja) were excellent, too. And don’t get me started on the dessert, an apple tart with caramel sauce and homemade ice cream! OMG. We will be regulars at Costa Brava from now on. One hint: make reservations, it gets packed. But if you go early enough, as we did, you may score a table by the bar.

This place is plain AWESOME. My husband picked it for date night after recommendation from 2 of his colleagues. Everything was so tasty that even my husband who has been to Spain twice said there is no better paella than the Ángeles’ paella. Also the Galician-style grilled octopus was way too yummy. Our server Christian was espectacularly helpful and the ambiance remarkable. Will come back a million times and will recommend to every foodie out there.

If you are looking for the perfect neighborhood gem, look no further! Costa Brava is the Spanish inspired restaurant that you have been craving for. A cozy, intimate placed tucked in a strip mall in Bellaire that has consolidated a loyal following that fills up their tables night after night. Start your Spanish journey with the Salpicon, the Charcuterie plate and the Grilled octopus, move then to the Rabbit confit and whatever you do don’t skip Angela’s Paella. A nice«tinto» Pesquera wine is the perfect companion to this meal. Dessert highlights include Crema Catalana and the Hazelnut crepes.

Ambience of this small restaurant in a strip mall on Bellaire is fine. Not great, not bad. Greeter was warm. Bartender and waiter attentive and helpful. Server said gazpacho was the best appetizer. Had it. Not great. No texture and not a lot of taste. Fine, not great, not bad. Server said snapper was second best item on menu(cannot remember what was best item). It was fresh. Not a ton of flavor but very good. All in all, an A-OK experience. Won’t pick it to go back as it’s pricey and Houston has so many great restaurants, but also would not protest going back.

Truly excellent food in an intimate European style bistro. Extra points because it is one of the few restaurants in Houston where you can actually hear yourself think.(Too many restaurants in the United States are way too loud!) Costa Brava is a true classic. Elegant and timeless!!! Lunch specials are fabulous, especially their filet Mignon and their cinnamon-laced rice pudding.

Entertained for business here last night, our customer was at Hotel Derek wanted to get off the regular path near the hotel but still remain close. Excellent food and excellent service and for the quality of the food well priced. Very on point and professionally run establishment. I had the smoked duck with some type of Spanish beans and chorizo fantastic dish, perfect flavor pairings of the smokey duck, a mildly sweet glaze and the savory beans with a bit of chorizo with some wild mushrooms, nice dish I really enjoyed it. Will be back soon, great establishment.

The food was extremely good. Foie gras was fantastic with the sweet bread. Octopus was cooked perfectly. Mixed review on the paella. We prefer americas in river oaks better. We had bread pudding which was soft and chocolaty. olive tray was good. Would have appreciated being seated a bit earlier. Our server was attentive though front of the house can use some work.

Garlic shrimp, paella, gazpacho, and apple tart — the best in Houston. And the family feel of the welcome, the service is incomparable!

Classy European feel restaurant in Bellaire. Paella! $ 28. Extensive wine selection. They ask that you turn all phones to vibrate. A rose on each table. Attentive servers. Lunch salmon salad is $ 16. Get a small dish of olives and olive spread as you sit down. Not for children. Romantic date-might place to consider.

I’ve visited Costa Brava a couple of times and never have I left disappointed. Most recently, I had a reservation for 2 for 8:15pm on a Friday night. The place was PACKED and we had to snake our way to the bar while we waited for our table. The hostess(and owner) let us know that we would be seated 10 – 15 minutes late, which was no problem for us. We were served by Eynar and were VERY impressed with him. He was very kind, funny, and his recommendations were spot on every time. He definitely made our experience amazing. We had the escargot to start, the scallops and the duck, and the apple tart for dessert. My only complaint was that the escargot was a teeny bit bland, but the rest of the meal certainly made up for it. Amazing restaurant, I would highly recommend it!

We had a great meal Wednesday night. The paella was spectacular, and my wife had an off-the-menu rainbow trout over couscous, which was also delicious. Excellent cocktails. Finished with a cheese plate and port. Excellent service throughout. Our experience put it back high on our«list».

I liked this place very much. I feel like they have some really find foods. The duck and the red snapper are among the best. My wife does not really like this place though. I feel like this place is really for(old) business people. We are young and ware casually. They always gave us wired looking, which I do not like. Again if you only care about the food, this is the place you want to check out.

One of the most unexpectedly brilliant dining experiences I’ve had. The restaurant is elegant and cozy, somehow managing to give off a European vibe in the middle of All-American Bellaire. We were immediately brought marinated olives and tapenade as a complimentary appetizer. We split an arugula and goat cheese salad that paired perfectly with a Santiago Ruiz Albariño that our sweet waitress recommended. This wine set the tone for the meal: I’d pay more than $ 11 a glass for it. I had the flounder special, which came on a bed of spiced potatoes and was topped with buttery crabmeat. As another reviewer mentioned… the dessert. Oh, the dessert! We split a Chocolate-Orange Pots de Crème, which had the consistency of Crème brûlée but the intensity of a torte. I highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or a small group outing.

Food was solid and consistent, comparable to that of Masraff’s without the hefty price tag. Our server, Jennifer, was very resourceful and attentive. That being said, the owner was neither accommodating nor logical.

Spanish and French influenced menu. Located in a strip mall on Bellaire. We walked into a full packed restaurant around 8:45 on a Friday, luckily we were seated right away. Ordered the escargots, garlic shrimp and frisee salad. The escargots were served on a baguette drenched in a delicious garlic butter sauce, jumbo shrimp also garlic heavy but I was loving it. We got an order of the paella and quail, both delicious. Paella not served in the traditional paella pan but jam packed with shrimp, calmari, chicken, mussels, beef. It was delicious. Quail was on point, love those teeny little birds. Service was amazing, everything was paced perfectly and came out pretty quickly Note: definitely a more mature dining crowd, doubt anyone was younger than 40

Wonderful food, service and ambiance. The snapper and artichokes were shear perfection. Great Spanish wine. I could eat the same thing every day and never tire of it. I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone else’s food looked great, and they were very pleased.

Celebrated birthdays with two other friends here last night and really enjoyed the food. We began our meal with the large shrimp and garlic and the grilled octopus. Both were outstanding… the jumbo prawns were accompanied with a powerful garlic mixture, so beware if you don’t go in for garlic… raw. Everything seemed well presented, and the wine selection is excellent. I ordered the paella, and the serving was generous and the recipe included pork, beef and chicken in addition to the usual mussels and shrimp. The serving was very generous! The only issues we had for the evening were these: when we arrived half of our party was already there, and we were forced to wait outside instead of being seated. This was annoying because there is no place to wait in the front of the restaurant. People tend to congregate in the very small entry way, so we had to wait outside. There were five us and we spent well over $ 350 in the restaurant(the hostess should have known we were going to spend our hard earned money here), and she refused to seat us before the rest of our party was there. So be prepared to stand in the cold if you’re waiting for the rest of your party to arrive. Secondly, they didn’t even do anything for our birthdays. Nothing. Even though they knew we were celebrating. So don’t expect any birthday frills here.

Service is a little on the fussy side; this is where the well to do in Bellaire come to lunch and I felt a little out of place in my business casual attire. But for $ 20 I can’t find a better prix fixe menu for lunch. If the items there don’t speak to you, the entrees run about $ 25. It’s all very good, the servers will fuss over you, but you will be in, out, and back to work on time. I wouldn’t do this every day, but it’s a nice change-up.

Caveat: I think if we’d gotten a different server, we would’ve had an entirely different experience. Short story: the server messed up my order, and I was left eating a dry salad, which was the quickest thing they could bring me, while watching the other people in my party eat(I tried a bite of the paella, which was delish!). While the manager was very nice to us as we left, it kind of ruined the meal for me because I didn’t really get to eat.

LOVE this place. Met the owner on my way in to pick up take out. She was very polite. She even said I could bring my dog next time! Bartenders were friendly, offering me a drink while I sat at the bar. I ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and the paella. Both were delicious. The steak was absolutely perfect, even after the 15 min drive home. The paella was a large serving with lots of goodies in it. Yes, it is borderline pricey. However, it’s a really nice place. I would DEFINITELY eat here again. So many tempting things on their menu!
