Mister Sparky Electrical

While on vacation our pet sitter called to let us know the air conditioner was not
working. The Hallmark technician informed us that we needed electrical work
done and arranged to have Mister Sparky come. Matthew was at the house
Sunday and got the unit worked temporarily. Upon our return Tuesday night,
Matthew was at the house Wednesday morning to complete all the necessary
work. I would highly recommend Mister Sparky and Matthew and will definitely
use them for all future electrical work.

WAY OVER PRICED! I had a new AC installed by One Hour Heating and AC little over a month ago and since that every now and then the 50 Amp AC breaker would trip. Per recommendation from the service tech from One Hour AC I called Mister Sparky — Aparently they are sister companies. I called and talked with their operator who although had limited knowledge was attentive. She scheduled me same day and within a couple of hours, the service tech showed up. The service tech was on time, knowledgeable and courteous. I explained all I needed was to have an old breaker replaced… however, per their company policy I had to listen to the sales pitch as to why my 30 year old home needs a new fuse box. Anyhow, long story short, the service tech installed two new 50 AMP GE breakers which you can pick up at any local hardware store at a cost of $ 35 for a pack of two. I got charged $ 400 to install two new fuses. Now I’m sure Mister Sparky will explain that there was a diagnostic fee which according to their price book was $ 189. So to break it down I paid $ 189 just to open the panel and diagnose (5 min) + $ 35 for two fuses + $ 176 to install two fuses (10 min). So $ 400 for a 15 min job! Now is that a deal or what!!! From my prespective no diagnostic was needed as I told the service tech that the fuses needed to be replaced from the beginning. One more thing that annoyed me; It took 15 minutes to replace two fuses and then it took another 20 minutes for the service tech to write up a detailed report as to why the job he just performed will not be covered under warranty. The service tech was kind enough to leave me with a $ 5000 quote in case I decide to replace my entire fuse box. Most likely, I will not be calling them again for any future electrical needs. Their are better electrician with better pricing than these guys!
