Very good ice cream, love going there and they have great owners and staff but I just wish they would make a few renovations to make it a little nicer and cleaner. Other then that, I would highly recommend their ice cream after going there for years. The line can be long but it always moves fast and is worth the wait.

My past review stands but I went to order Moose Tracks this summer and something has happened. Maybe they changed their supplier but the usually really rich ice cream tasted like skim milk and was very very icy without much of any peanut butter cupt pieces in it. Not so good. We’ve been going there for years. many many years and it’s always been really good ice cream. I hope it was just a fluke. I’ll give them another chance but I was really bummed. It’s close to our cottage and is a regular stop on a hot summer day or evening. It’s always crowded and really friendly and fun… but…

A daily stop for our family during our yearly trips to the cabin in the summer. The line is always a mile long, there are always smiles on the employee’s faces and it’s a small town staple. How can you say anything bad about ice cream or Ruthie’s?!

We’ve been going to Ruthie’s for years. Always get great ice cream and they’re always busy in the summer but they’re quick to serve. Something new I tried was a chocolate waffle cone flurry, it was very good :) BTW, they don’t take credit or debit cards.

Family run business with a wide variety of meals and treats. Can be a bit on the pricier side, but quality is top notch and portions are more than generous. They are known for their fried chicken and the Pig Out Sunday. Look into trying each — it’s worth it.

I have not been able to find Superman ice cream back in Austin, TX for like 6 months, so I knew that coming up to the cottage meant having a cone of Superman ice cream! Ruthie’s did not let me down at all, I ordered the smallest cone and was handed a HUGE two scoops on a regular cone. I am definitely going to grab another cone before I head down-state, have to get my fill before I return to Tejas, where apparently no one likes Superman ice cream, bunch of savages in that town. My wife loves the soft-serve from Ruthie’s, so whether you are into a soft-serve cone or a hand-dipped one, you will not be disappointed.

One of the top things to do on a Bellaire summer day. Great ice cream, great service, great people watching. Makes you wish you grew up in a small town. sort of.

The Dairy Twist is Bellaire’s answer to the town kitchen where everybody ends up hanging out sometime during the day if even just to take a whiff of the cookins or treats behind the counter. Ruthie and Brooke’s mom work the counter and know everything goings on in this little part of the world. Featuring soft serve and hard ice cream treats with Ruthie’s Original flurry concoctions or sundaes. Also on the menu are your typical americana quick meals, like burgers, hot dogs and egg rolls… yes egg rolls;-) Decorated with dozens of windchimes collected throughout the years, everytime a gust of wind comes thru a flock of angels get their wings. After a lil meal at Shorty’s or Lulus, or just strolling through town, stop on in and get yourself some local hospitality with a side of whip cream and let the better side of small town life hug your soul into a moment of smiles and laughter.
