The winter salad was great with chicken added. Kids loved the smash burgers. The fries were really tasty too. The service was very friendly and the kitchen had the food out really fast.

So-​so. Crab cakes not very good. Pretzel bites and fries were very good. Burger ordered medium rare was completely raw inside, but burger ordered medium had zero pink left. Waitress did a good job trying to make everything right, but the food/​price didn’t warrant a return trip.

Great place close to the Shanty Creek Resort. Wings and burgers were well prepared and quick. This place has the NFL Ticket, which is rare in Northern Michigan sports bars. Great place to watch a game. Kid friendly too.

We stopped here for All you can eat Fish (haddock) on Friday Night or $ 12.95 and was it packed. There are tons of TVs so any sporting event you want to watch is available. We got to the Pelican’s Nest around 8:00 and had to wait 20 minutes to get seated. Our table all ordered the fish and it was excellent, it’s really fresh fish with a nice crispy breading. It comes with fries, cole slaw and tarter sauce, I am not a huge fries person, but these ones are nice and crispy and delicious.
The service is friendly and prompt and I didn’t feel we were judged by the ridicuously large amount of fish my DH ordered.
While waiting for our food, we perused the menu and the prices did seem a bit high, but I am not sure about how large the portions for other entrees are.

Very good food with generous portions? Make The Pelican’s Nest a dining stop when visiting the Shanty Creek Resorts area, you won’t be sorry. A bit on the expensive side but the quality and portions ensure you get your money’s worth.
