A much-needed bar in the area. There aren’t a whole lot of places to drink along this region of Illinois St, so this bar is welcome. They also have a nice little outdoor area.

The pizza is excellent. If ur here during lent, the fish is some of the best I’ve ever had. The beer selection is limited but they really do a great dive bar atmosphere.

Friday’s South is literally a bar… there’s barely a dining area. Their food is absolutely delicious! I love the pizza, mini tacos, ravioli. Omg. Yum! I wish they would do carry out but unfortunately they don’t. Their drink selection is horrible. Literally! You ask for the basic(what pretty much all other bars have) and they won’t have it. Every drink I asked for(about 6 different ones) the bartender will say«we don’t have that here but our other location does» lol I figure because it’s a small bar. The owner and staff are super friendly! I agree with one of the reviewers that the restroom is not great. The exact description was on point. Sewage and pine sole is definitely what you smell!

Just had a great tavern pizza here. They had a sign saying«any burger $ 5.95». If you like dive bars, this is a must goto place.

The food at Fridays is delish. The service all depends on the night and the bartender. My biggest complaint is that if you want anything other than a Budweiser or a rum and coke, you’re out of luck. I didn’t think I was asking a lot in looking for cake-flavored vodka(a common bar staple now) with sprite. Nope. Okay, asked for. Redds. Nope. Settled on a rail vodka with sprite and it was poured so strong I couldn’t drink it. No joke. I appreciate the extra pour but not ¾ of my glass and a splash of sprite. I’m not an alcoholic; that was my ex. I’d like a regularly proportioned drink, please. The last time we were there was a Saturday night, and they were very busy. Apparently kids are allowed in even at 11PM because the mayor had his underage daughter there. To each his own, but I would think the bar would want to be extra careful since several Belleville bars have gotten stung in the past. Sadly since they were so busy, the only bartender couldn’t keep up. I really wanted my check. Just wanted to leave. However I waited almost 15 minutes after asking for it. Then I waited at least another 10 until she brought it for me to sign. She couldn’t seem to do two check requests at once so we waited yet again for my friends to get their check. Thank God they were together. A downside – especially for me – the bathrooms are freaking horrendous. They smell of sewer and obscene amounts of Pine Sol. Holy Jesus. I’m afraid to touch anything much less sit down. It’s definitely a lesson in contortionism. All I can say is: for God’s sake – pee before you come, and if you have to pee while you’re there, it’s time to go home… or out back to the parking lot! That would be safer and cleaner than these sesspool bathrooms. Gag.

My better half and I had won $ 50 in giftcards to here, so yesterday we decided to hop on the motorcycle, ride to Belleville and try it out. I have to say I really really enjoyed this place. We started out with fried mushrooms-they were really really good, hot out of the fryer and the breading was good, and served with ranch. Then we both got a side salad while waiting for our pizza. It was HUGE— and although it was iceberg, it was still good… basic. but good. Then for the kicker. the main event. Sundays is ANY pizza for $ 9.95… yes… seriously. Any size, any toppings, whatever you want… $ 9.95. We orderd the taco pizza, and it was PHENOMENAL… we were sooo full from the mushrooms and salad that we only ate a few pizzas and left the rest for the bar. We will definitely be back to try other pizzas, and different food. the drink prices were also amazing– 3 beers and 3 rum and diets for 12.50… not bad if i do say so myself! :)

Friday’s South(not to be confused with the chain restaurant) is a great long established neighborhood bar in old Belleville. It’s got old school«cheers-like» bar décor, lots of regulars of all ages and decent food. I have not tried the pizza, but the customers rave about it. Like all Illinois bars, it is nonsmoking.

This is a popular neighborhood bar, and it’s a great place to go with friends for snacks and beer. They have some of the best pizza in town, and the beer is cold and reasonably priced. Watch the signboard out front for specials on codfish cutups, appetizers and buckets of beer. This is another historic pub which you should include in your Belleville pub crawl if you can. It’s 6 blocks south of Main street on Illinois(route 159), just down the street from Mariachi’s and across from Hick’s bar-b-queue. Game room and outdoor smoking area. Popular stop for poker runs, ball teams and you-name-it.

BelleVegas loves trophies. Softball, Baseball, Volleyball, Bowling. walk into a bar here, and odds are that you’ll find at least one wall stacked high with golden piers of naked and plastic men. In this, Friday’s South(Bellevegas location) is no exception. Illinois loves cod cut ups. In paper sacks. On Fridays. Also, in this, Friday’s South(BelleVegas location) is no exception. Ok, not the paper sack. I love dive bars with popcorn machines. In this, Friday’s South(BelleVegas location) is no exception. So following this equation, Illinois loves trophies and cod cut ups that I love for their popcorn machines. Or, something like that. Go on Wednesday nights for open mic. If you’re lucky, Jesus will be your host for the night. See Randall the homeless Cheech impersonator sing American Pie and tell you how it sucks to be homeless. Watch and listen to bar hound female nameless dance and sing in her actually kinda hot mom jeans. Get some stag or other domestic for two bucks. Smoke outside. Eat popcorn. Look forward to your Friday cod.
