Love this place food is good, employees are very attentive and the prices are reasonable. In the summer they have outdoor seating which is very nice. The only downfalls are the parking and it can get a little loud if that doesn’t bother you then I highly recommend.

I don’t know how they got 4 stars but their food is horrible. The service is bad as well. The waiter is so damn arrogant and impatient. We literally just sat down and didn’t even have the chance to look at the menu yet he was already asking for our orders! We ordered barbecue baby back ribs on the kid’s menu and it came out to be FRIED. My dad ordered for barbecue chicken and it came out to be fried too! The rib eye steak cooked on the clay pot was so bland. No seasoning at all. Yes it was juicy and was not dry but that’s because their cut of meat was not great either! It was all chunks of fats! The paella valencia were all stuffed with frozen seafoods. They did not taste fresh. I mean for that price? They could have at least done better than that. The sangria did not even taste like a sangria! Where’s the fruits in it? Thus, it left a taste of just raw alcohol mixed with ice. We ordered a lot of food because we were excited to try this new place but it was just a horrible experience and not to mention, everything is OVERPRICED!!!

Solar do Minho is fantastic!!! They have valet service which is a great amenity because there parking lot is small. Their service is very quick and courteous! My group of 6 started off with traditional Portuguese soup. Which was AMAZING! BEST«caldo verde» soup I ever ate! For dinner, I order shrimps in garlic sauce which was phenomenal! The rodizio was great from what others on my table are stating. The«bacalau au brassa» was also phenomenal! Overall, I would come again!!! Great place, friendly staff!

Outstanding rodizio! They had a nice variety of meats and I liked that they asked what temperature you prefer the meat. Most of the time they catered to my rare tastes but sometimes the item had no pink to spare. Randomly I found their sausage to be one of the best items. The sides were also good as was the sangria. The non-rodizio entrees were enormous and received good reviews. Services was overall good although sometimes amiss. They have valet parking which is nice because you have an easy time finding a spot.

I would give it 4 ½ stars if I could… we started at the bar while waiting for a table… restaurant was packed, even the outdoor seating section… we were noticed right away by the smiling female bartenders… food was excellent! I had the Rodizio, my husband the surf and turf… the server was not as attentive(he did not check on us, we had to flag him down) as I would have liked for a pricier restaurant but all the other servers(those who brought the food and sliced the meat) who helped were extremely polite… will definitely be back but maybe sit in a different section:)

I ordered a T-Bone steak medium. I am a fan of charred and juicy steaks. I can accept it being overdone a bit, I can accept it being a little under cooked. Either case I still expect the steak to be flavorful and simply taste good if not great. In the past I have enjoyed the Rodizio(once) and although I am am not a fan of every meat, there were some favors But back to the TBone steak. It didn’t have any of the characteristics that define a good steak. It actually tastes old — not aged — old. My girlfriend ordered grilled Salmon with the sauce on the side. Big mistake. The Salmon was overdone on the inside and simply bland. Hint: don’t order the Salmon without the sauce. As always, the service was really good. I’ll stick to the Rodizio. Based on my dinner choice, I give the TBone 1 and the service 1 star.

Mostly yummy in my tummy. I got rodizio; delicious. The meat was cooked deliciously and almost everyone I was with loved their food. TIP: do not order the quail and you will be a happy camper. Steak on a shingle is delicious. Our server was more interested in flirting with the bartender then getting our drink orders or bringing our dessert or the check but the quality of the good cannot be dismissed due to poor service.

Rodizio was off the chain! Steaks and beef short –ribs are as good as advertised. Some of the best Garlic Shrimp I had from a Portuguese spot(I mean in some places, you don’t actual see slices of garlic in the garlic shrimp… COMEONMAN). For some reason, the seats are the bar were very comfortable. Nice small place with that«Down Neck» feel. Dining Room looked a little cluttered. I can see how the parking can be an issue. Service is excellent. Now all this place have to do is deliver! But overall, I’m sold.

Came here on a Sunday evening(7ish) with my husband. I had seen previous photos from other Unilocalers of the Chicken Princesa dish –naturally I was dying to know if the dish tasted as good as it looked. My husband and I debated as to whether we should dine there or not: in the end I’m glad we dined in. The Chicken Princesa Dish, or(Peito de Frango a Princesa) as put on the menu, is mouth watering. My favorite part of the dish had to be the mushrooms that were stuffed with crab meat. The wine used in the sauce for the chicken gave it a unique taste. My husband ordered the Red Snapper meal — which was equally as delicious. The inside of the fish is stuffed with crab meat . Our waiter attended our every need despite the fact that he was busy in between tables. We didn’t have to wait to be seated, which was not in the main area by the bar or the area in front of the grill. We were seated in a side room. Which suited us because we were surrounded by other couples who just wanted to converse with their partners. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. Will be back in the future.

We came here for a birthday with a party of 6. Granted, it was a Saturday night so we expected it to be busy. However, even with reservations we waited a half hour in their tightly packed«waiting area» that happens to also be a dining area/bar. The night started with the waiter spilling the entire tray of water straight onto my lap. It happened to be his first week, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, but it didn’t stop there. Although it was a busy night, we were waiting over an hour for our dinner. Unacceptable. Especially when the table next to us who happened to sit down after us received their food first. By the time we got our food, everything seemed very rushed. Someone had ordered the rodizio and they only came around once. So we had to ask the manager to bring out another round, which shouldn’t be the case. Overall, the food was ok, but everything was very oily. The dining room is small and extremely loud. Even with a party of 6, I couldn’t hear the person 2 seats away from me. Definitely will not be returning here.

My boyfriend took me on a surprise date here on a Friday and it was phenomenal! We started off with a pitcher of sangria. I like more fruit in my glass and there wasn’t much in the pitcher, but it was still SO good. For appetizers, we got clams with crab meat and bacon. We also tried the garlic shrimp and both were awesome. Cooked just right– clams weren’t chewy and the shrimp was crisp and flavored perfectly. We got the rodizio for dinner. My boyfriend was worried we would be bombarded with food, but it was a good pace. They had a lot to offer like sausage, turkey wrapped in bacon, filet wrapped in bacon, ribs, skirt steak, t-blond, ribeye. It was SO good. I wanted to keep eating but my mouth was so tired from chewing so much food. We both got to choose how we liked the meat cooked and the slices were generous. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the sides were also delicious. At the end, we were offered pineapple– which I have been craving since we left. It was on a huge skewer rolled in cinnamon and grilled. It was SO good and a light sweet treat after a heavy dinner. We paid $ 125 for both of us which wasn’t bad at all. I will definitely be back here.

I came here for my dad’s birthday. There were 3 tables plus ours there. It’s a very small restaurant(from what I saw). Food — On that note, the waiter wasn’t nice when seating us. We waited a long time for our orders to be taken. The food took forever but the presentations was awful! The portions are so big that it did not look appealing to eat. Customer service — Customer Service was just awful from the waiter taking out order and to the other waiter that was cleaning our table. The waiter that picked our stuff after eating was so rude! He basically was on top of my mom and myself. He did not say excuse me but instead hover us and began to clean without notice. My mom had to move out of his way– he was just awful. I will never be coming here ever again.

Once i pulled up to the place their was parking out front, as i approached the place i seen their were outside dining as well as inside, i settled for inside, dinner for 1… place is pretty nice, i was helped by two gentlemen, one handed me my menu, the other took my order and braught me my meal… i did browse thru the menu but i already knew what i wanted, i went with the chicken princessa with a coke to drink… as i waited for that i devoured the bread that was served to me while waiting for my main course… the food came in a huge plate which consisted of chicken with mushroom and shrimp on top, gravy sauce on the plate surrounded by mash potatoes with a stuffed mushroom… so0o0o good! Price came out to 28 $ and change, not to bad for a fancy restaurant a must try if you are into good portugese food

Had a great experience here, pleasantly surprised! We were hesitant due to the surrounding neighborhood. Our waiter was very helpful in making suggestions as we told him it was our first visit. We went w/his suggestion and were very happy we did! Attentive wait staff that wasn’t overbearing. 4 stars because they never used the crumb scraper and the stray rice throughout dessert really bothers me. We have plans to go back with friends!

I took the girlfriend here for halfiversary. I was originally thinking rodizio, but I didn’t have the appetite for it, so I figured I’d try some of their other fare. Moral of the story: come for the rodizio. Atmosphere: Pretty nice. You have a choice to eat in or out when the weather’s nice. Outside is a covered, cramped patio, while inside is nicely decorated and spacious, with a view of some of the kitchen. I recommend it. 4.5 stars. Service: Pretty good. Water was refreshed regularly. Not a lot of communication from their side(at least for an English-speaking customer), so don’t go in expecting your questions to get satisfactory answers. 3.5 stars. I started with the potato soup. It wasn’t very substantial in the potato department, rather watery like an Eastern European soup. Apparently it also has flour in it, which isn’t typical/authentic. There was a bunch of minced collard greens(or kale? but I think collards) clogging it up, all sticking together in a giant lump. And there was supposed to be chorizo. I counted three paper-thin slices. Literally as thin as anyone could cut them. One star. Skip the soup. The main course was hit or miss. The lady ordered the fish special, I forget what kind of fish. It came laden with vegetables and was pronounced excellent.(Which is all I needed to hear.) For her benefit, and since I didn’t taste any of it, I’ll go with 4 stars. I ordered the Portuguese steak. It was topped with ham, drowned in garlic sauce, and with«potato rounds» that are really just homemade chips. I don’t LIKE potato chips. I like sliced rounds. These are chips. Getting past that, I did like the sauce, although it was rather thick and salty, and entirely too voluminous for the plate. Between the meat and the potatoes, anything else on the plate was just drowned out. 2.5 stars. I’m going to skip to dessert for a second and come back. They make four or five desserts here, and the rest come from a bakery. The only authentic one is serradura, which I later looked up and found it’s «the easiest dessert in the world to make.» That said, it’s hard to make anything delicious regardless of how easy the recipe is, and this was truly delicious. It tasted like I was eating mousse instead of cream, and the crumbled cookies tasted perfect inside. I didn’t ask the price, and maybe I should have, because it’s not worth the $ 7. Still, it was quite good, so 3.5 stars. So far, everything pretty much adds up to 3 stars, especially for the price. But this is a strong 3 for one reason, and the reason I wanted to come back to: the meat. That steak was cooked perfectly. Perfectly. Rare to medium rare throughout. Superb char, unsurpassed flavor, artistically chewy yet yielding mouthfeel. I savored every bite of the steak and left it as my last bite on the plate — even after all of the potatoes, still warm and yet still medium rare. This place executes nearly impossible meat artistry. And that’s why I’d come back for the rodizio. I have no doubt about their meat; I’m just going to pass on the rest.

I have gone to this location twice in the past four to six weeks and had a really good experience each time I went. The first time I went I ordered some shrimp in a garlic sauce and my friend ordered the pork chops. My shrimp were excellent and those pork chops were amazing. They give you two very thick pork cops alone with potatoes and a whole bunch of peppers and onions. I had dessert the first time I went and the tiramisu was pretty good. My friend had the pistachio cheese cake which I got to taste. Very good. To drink I have had the blue and Red sangria. If it’s three people or less get a small pitcher of sangria. The large pitcher is so big there is no way you will finish it unless it’s four people or more at your table. I also ordered coffee that came with some sort of cream that was truly amazing. I will definitely go back to this place. On a side note– free valet parking!
