This place has a nice atmosphere for lunch and dinner. They have many craft beers that change often. Most, if not all their crafts are made in Michigan which is a plus. The décor in this resturant is classy casual I recommend this as a place to do a nice work lunch. They have a small bar too. The food is top notch everything I have had here is good from the burgers to the salads. I enjoyed the Kale Salad with salmon. The appetizers are not that large, however they are good the calamari app is really only for 2, the calamari is thicker than normal calamari. They burned my dad’s burger on medium well but they refunded it. I will still go back.

I just walked out of the Rooster, while the place was nearly empty, I never got service. I don’t know if they have new staff members, but the lack of service that I received this evening was unacceptable. I will never set foot in that place ever again.

I love their Lobster & Mac with asparagus! After 20+ years living in New England I can vouch for the recipe used. Very authentic! Try it, you’ll like it, too!

Went here for monthly dinner with the girls. I never heard of the place, so I read reviews. I got the Fish tacos that everyone raved about, YESYES and YES. The server was very attentive, with 8 older ladies. we all got separate checks which is the bane of all servers Everyone seemed please with their dinner, except one thought the fish & chips was too greasy(They were) Because we are women we checked out the dessert menu, nothing special for 6.99 one person got the campfire cheesecake? like smores on a plate, but way too sweet. A little bit out of my way but those tacos were really good.

This place is very good. The menu is dominated by fresh and local ingredients used in creative ways. They have many wonderful Michigan beers on the menu as well. Additionally the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I don’t know what else I could look for in a restaurant. If I had one very minor request it would be please offer a better hot sauce than tobasco. There must be a Local one that is better. Overall it’s an excellent restaurant.

In my two visits to this establishment, I have been happy with my meals in each case. It is part of a small three-store chain scattered around Michigan. They pride themselves on locally sourced ingredients and goods. This location is convenient as it is in the heavily commercialized area along Belleville Rd. It is an opportune stop for me when I am going to or coming from the airport. On both visits, our servers did a very good job taking care of us. On our most recent stop, it was a Sunday afternoon and my son was with me. We stopped in before he dropped me at the airport. We both decided on a cup of the bisque to start. He decided on the fish and chips for his entrée while I had the Thai Chicken Salad. We both enjoyed our fare quite a lot. The prices were not out of line considering the quality of the experience. The bill for the two of us including drinks, tip and tax was $ 46USD. At $ 23 per person, this was not unreasonable.

Loved the French Dip, a friend had the bacon egg and cheese burger and loved it. Fries are crispy and seasoned well. They have a great beer list of Michigan beers. Had the Maple mustard pickles and they were chunks of crisp dill pickle with a light crunchy breading and the sauce was wonderful.

Picked another winner! This place is great for unwinding after a day of work to enjoy good craft beer and good food. I got the twisted salmon, asked for the sauce on the side(trying to eat healthy) and it was great. Salmon was cooked just right, not over done. The cherry rice had a light butter flavor that made it melt in your mouth. For dessert, we ordered the candied caramel apple bread pudding and the campfire cheesecake. Both were delicious! If you like bread pudding, you have to try the candied caramel apple. One of my coworkers never had bread pudding and loved it! One note: they cannot make a good margarita. Had to send it back. Yep.

Staff is friendly and not in a annoying«fake» kind of way. They speak to you like a friend would and they are very helpful. Great food, always quickly served and exactly what you are looking for. The Duke Wellington dish is the best! This is the first one I tried and even though the fish and chips and sandwiches are good, nothing beats steak with lobster. Good sized portions and everything in the restaurant is made in Michigan.

First time coming here it was a spur of the moment type thing and j was definitely surprised. The food was great, I ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese. I wish it was a few more pieces of lobster though. The service was great as well; my waitress was very friendly and polite. My food came very quickly as well. I definitely be coming here again!

So I used to go to the Twisted Rooster every other week. The past three times I have been there they couldn’t figure out how to cook a piece of steak with any consistency. No matter how I ordered the steak it would come out very rare. As in fresh out of the refrigerator red in the middle. Not slightly pink, un-cooked and luke warm red. Each time I would order medium well. They used to be able to cook it perfect every time now they don’t seem to care. The head chef spends most all of his time out of the kitchen talking VERYLOUDLY with regulars and other people trying to eat. Perhaps he should stay in the kitchen and supervise his staff that seem to have forgotten how to cook. It is a real shame, the waitstaff and bartenders are exceptional. I hope they can find work elsewhere after the head chef drives this place into the ground. After I raised issue with how they were cooking their steak they said they were taking that item off the menu. What do you honestly think is a better solution, learning to cook meat or just taking the item off the menu. Disappointing. After several unaddressed issues in a row I will not be going back.

I keep going back to and recommending the Twisted Rooster. Not only is it the best place near our home, but their food is great. Their focus on local food representation continues, and at a reasonable price. Their appetizers are great, particularly during happy hour or late night specials. My favorite is the barbecue chicken and gouda quesadilla. I get this as a standalone meal sometimes, too. It’s presentation with grilled pineapple is fun, and the combination of tart pineapple with the smoky quesadilla is wonderful. Every sandwich on the menu is good, and there are some interesting combinations. My favorite, though messy to eat, is the Twisted Rooster. I also love the sweet and spicy reuben and fish tacos. The pork shanks(soda pop pork lollipops) are a decadent treat. So is the house made macaroni and cheese, a favorite among my vegetarian friends. The salads at Twisted Rooster are excellent. The greens are high quality and fresh, and their interesting combinations and dressings make for salads that keep me coming back. I love their Maple-Mustard Vinaigrette, which is served on the crispy chicken salad.

I’ve been to TR several times now, and had a wide variety of dishes. The lobster mac-n-cheese is pretty good, as are there fish tacos, and fish-n-chips. For an area lacking any real original mid to up scale restaurants it’s a welcome change. Service is good, and the food is sound. The menu offers a good selection, albeit sometimes maybe a bit too adventurous at times. All in all it’s a solid find and I’ll continue to go back, especially since it’s right around the corner!

Surprisingly good. I didn’t have high expectation for food in the area — and this spot really surprised me. Maple Sriracha salmon burger was very flavorful — if I lived here I’d eat this all the time. I’m not familiar with local Michigan beers, nor do I remember any of the names, but the bartender selected a solid flight for me.

The General Manager is an idiot. Yesterday, I ordered a sandwich, and it was missing the cheese. When I told/showed the bartender, the GM, who was also behind the bar, loudly hollered that it was on the bottom. Nope. Bartender verified. So, she takes it back to the kitchen and comes back 10 minutes later, and while it has cheese, my fries are gone. It’s just a sandwich on a plate. So my boyfriend says«So she sacrifices her fries for correct food?» The bartender said she thought it was weird, too, but not weird enough to make sure it came with the fries. She ended up ordering another side for me, but at that point we were ready to go. That’s when the GM came over and told me the original sandwich DID have cheese on it, it just wasn’t made properly. Basically called me a liar. That sandwich had no cheese. Crappy management. If you get bad service, it’s the GM’s fault — he’s a total idiot.

I wish that I could give this a 3.5 star rating, it’s better than a 3, not so outstanding to be a 4. That said, I have eaten here many times. It’s smack between my house(Tele and I-94) and my friends in Ypsi Twp. My last visit was on Feb 25, 2015. The Twisted House salad is really good, the twisted mac and cheese and the lobster mac and cheese are pretty tasty, fish and chips is pretty hard to mess up and this was fine. Portions are really decent. Service is always spot on — and on many visits, there is a manager walking the restaurant to ensure that everything is going well. I wish I knew what could be done to make it awesome or worth that half star more.

Had never heard of this place before(apparently it is a chain) but I randomly wound up here on a recent business lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was filled with interesting international-flaired Michigan-sourced food items. Not quite trendy farm-to-table bistro, not quite TJI Friday’s. Somewhere inbetween. I went with the East Meets West BLT and traded half for half of my co-workers Sweet & Spicy Reuben. We both had a good laugh after placing our order that I had ordered his 2nd choice, and vice-versa. So we figured it best to share. The BLT was pretty good. I appreciated what the Twisted Rooster was trying to accomplish with this one(a sort of Banh Mi meets BLT). It tasted great but the bacon kind of got lost in all the delicious flavorful accoutrements. IMO that was unfortunate and they could have taken this one to the next level by substituting bacon for meaty chunks of pork belly confit. The Reuben, on the other hand, was splendid. It was chock full of all kinds of goodness but the well seasoned pastrami and the spicy red cabbage made the sandwich. The crunch from the crispy noodle slaw was also welcome. I would happily drive all the way back out to Belleville just to eat this Reuben again. I also wound up getting to sample half of a fish taco. It wasn’t the best fish taco I’ve ever eaten but it was better than a fish taco ordered this far away from an ocean has any business being. I particularly enjoyed the beer batter, made with Founder’s Pale Ale. They didn’t offer a lime wedge with their tacos, which is really a necessity. I would suggest asking for them to bring you some limes from the bar. Overall, they did a good enough job with the fish in the tacos that I kind of want to try their Grouper Sandwich sometime in the future. The bar was fully stocked, interesting cocktail choices, and great local craft beer options. I didn’t have a drink as I had to go back to work immediately after lunch. But if I lived closer, this seems like it could be a good place for Happy Hour. Will definitely be back one day, or maybe check out the location in Chesterfield. I can’t see myself eating at the Grand Rapids location as there is too much amazing competition in GR compared to Belleville or Chesterfield… where this place is the only place you’re likely to find that is actually better than a TJI Fridays.

I had wanted to try this restaurant for quite awhile and I am glad we did. My husband and I met around 5:30 on a Friday and the restaurant was a quite packed(good sign). I found two seats at the bar and found out about their happy hour specials. From 3 – 6 they have $ 2 well drinks and $ 4 appetizers as well as beer specials. I didn’t get any appetizers this time, but they have a lot of interesting options. I ended up getting a whiskey and citrus soda and it was good. For dinner I ordered the southwest chicken carbonara pasta. The portion was large and included asparagus, scallions, bacon and chicken in a southwest white sauce. The bartender told me it was spicy. While it was flavorful, I would say it was far from spicy. I would have liked more spice. Overall, it was ok. I wouldn’t get it again. My husband had the soda pork chops and said they were fantastic. The sauce was sweet and on the spicy side and they came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and green beans. I had a few of the green beans and they were fantastic! Prices were reasonable! They have a very interesting menu. I’ll visit again!

I just had some of the best lobster macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had in my life. The amount of food you get for the money is great and the tall drinks are really tall. They had a special on Michigan brewed beers and it looks like they have several of them $ 3 a pint. They did not have my signature drink«Yukon Jack» but they did have my favorite backup… that’s Red Stag by Jim Beam … A Kid Rock endorsed drink which is basically cherry infused Jim Beam bourbon and is quite delicious. I drink it with regular Coke but many people say it’s the bomb with Cherry Coke. Just 90 seconds north of a 94 on Belleville Road in one of the out lots in front of Meijers. They have a reliable strong wifi signal but I did not need it because my sprint 4G signal was blowing the doors off the place. The fiancé reported an ok signal with Verizon 4G.
