Very overpriced! It was 16 dollars for the rib plate which was 3 sad little pieces of ribs that were not that good(and definitely not smoked on a barbecue!) For my two side options I got fried okra and Mac and cheese which were both ok. The fried okra at Ezells is way way better and more fresh rather than frozen like Dickeys so I couldn’t really enjoy the fried okra after eating the one at Ezells. It also came with a cold ciabatta type roll which was not that great. They have a few bbq sauces and I liked the spicy one. I like that they have unlimited free soft serve but the soft serve is not that good. It’s nothing like the one at McDonald’s which is delicious. I don’t think I will be going back here because I like more authentic barbecue which is not something they really have in Washington unfortunately so I like to make my own. Much better.

Pretty crappy bbq. It’s the McDonalds of bbq. Had pulled pork, green beans and ribs. Green beans were like baby food bc so over cooked. They supposedly had bacon in them-couldn’t tell. $ 16+ for this with a drink-way overpriced. Potato salad was awful and undercooked. Even the roll was bad. Gets two stars for friendly staff and clean restaurant.

Strange I went today after being tired of turkey and you were closed? Due to construction? Really? I didn’t see anything going on? Was this a health inspection issue?

Not bad for bbq especially those daily deal. I usually came in with coupon like buy one get one free deal. You can always get those deal online. Be honest I would not pay for full price as it did worth that much for bbq.

I love Dickeys! The food is a bit pricey but you do get your money’s worth. Everyone is super friendly and I had multiple employees there approach me as I was eating and asking how it was and if they could get me anything else. Not to mention every time I have gone in the owner is there and he is incredibly nice. I love Dickey’s and I will definitely be back.

I like their mini sandwich and get the plate with two sides. My favorite side so far is the baked potato casserole. It’s just the right amount of food to fill you up and sometimes keep the rest for a snack later. The place is fairly clean and they have free soft serve ice cream next to their soda and condiments. To make matters worse they have three kinds of barbecue sauce to choose from. I just take some of each to dip my sandwich in. Choosing just one is too much for me to commit to. My husband is from the east coast and it’s hard to find good barbecue he will like but today he gave his stamp of approval.

I don’t know why my bf loves this place, but he does. And I can’t disagree when I need something kind of BBQ-ish, as Seattle is NOT good for BBQ or good Olé southern comfort, we have chains like this to bring us something to fill our void. They’re actually pretty pricey in my opinion. 1 meal can cost me easily $ 20/person. Their ribs are 12 or 15 bucks for half slab and I think 15 or up for the full. Pretty pricey as it does not come with anything. Their smoked meats are a but pricey too. $ 15 for 1 lb of smoked turkey. It’s actually quite tasty, like school lunch meat hahaha. Like a block of ham, or no-umami spam, or smoked lunch meat. I think it definitely packs a big punch and is super tender and moist on a great day. I absolutely love their mac and cheese. Fake cheese galore! Definitely reminds me of a better kfc consistency, better pasta yet still creamy. These sides btw go small through large and start for a small small cup for 2.99. I think people need a medium which is like 4.99…because a small barely makes you full and it cost an arm already. Their green beans are also fantastic! Especially with the bacon in it. But I would skip on the salads as mine was boring. Don’t forget your free cardboard ice cream cone for their own soft serve ice cream. Definitely reminds me of Old Country Buffet style soft serve. It will satisfy my craving for something half melted and cool when I need it. Their overall service seems nice. Although I do have to frequently repeat myself 4 times, they’re really nice to me. I have never had a bad experience with them. Maybe once they screwed my order over… but mostly they try to get it right and they do their job well in my opinion.

re: Dinner My wife had the chicken Big BBQ and I had the turkey BBQ sandwiche with fries. Both were very good. The place is very clean, lots of space to not feel cramped, and I felt it was pretty intuitive on how to order when I walked in. The negatives and why I did not give them a 5 star. First, they ran out of chicken, so I had to have turkey. I don’t mind turkey, but I had the deli style processed turkey type. Second, I thought their price on the sides was a little pricey. That certainly would not deter me from ordering them, but when you’re dropping $ 30+ for two sandwiches, two soda’s, and one large french fries, that’s kind of a lot. This is the best BBQ place on the Eastside that I’m aware of. My wife and I will be back and the Catering menu looks amazing. Will definitely think about catering.

The food is overpriced for the barbecue’s quality. I went on business trip to Austin and this dump came no where close to the quality food Texans were dishing out on a daily demand. The portion size suck and the one of the employees were rude and this wise ass said«I can bring over the scale to you sir if you want» hasn’t this business establishment ever hear of killing your customers will kindness and not sarcasm? Oh, Mr. Dickey’a Franchise owner it’s the 26 – 27 year old Caucasian male with hat worn backwards working Tuesday August 18th, 2015. Named Drake. You need to put him through a class in customer service. Never coming back here again Blake

If you want mediocre BBQ that lacks real smoke flavor, this is the joint for you. The pulled pork was bland with no real flavor and the brisket didn’t look like it was cut from the flat or point… what cut are they calling brisket? Both were very dry and needed a lot of sauce to get down. I’m surprised I didn’t hear a microwave ding sound from the kitchen when they warmed up the meat. It definitely smelled like smoke inside the restaurant but none of that smoke made it to the meat. If this is Texas bbq, the brisket should have had a distinct mesquite aroma and flavor. It had neither. The only decent part of the meal were the two sides, fried okra and potato casserole. Save your money and just rub a pork shoulder with liquid smoke and throw it in your oven till tender if you plan on going to Dickey’s. $ 15 for some bland BBQ is a waste of calories and money.

There’s a couple things that I love — good barbecue and good deep fried veggies. For a chain(franchise) Dickey’s has really good ribs. Most of the time places like this boil their ribs and smother them is sauce. This is more Texas style, which is what I prefer. Great smokey flavor and excellent seasoning on the meat. For sides I had the cole slaw and fried okra. Nothing like getting your veggies deep fried to make it healthier. The great thing about Dickey’s is their daily special. You get the sides and a drink with the barbecued meat of the day for a great price. Lots of food for the money. Why not 5 stars? The brisket on the previous trip was a little dry. The other is the staff is not as attentive as they could be. No initial greeting and I had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to take my order, even though there was a guy behind the counter working on an order. He should have said, hello and I’ll be with you in a moment. Even with those short comings I would highly recommend this place. Probably one of the best barbecue places on the East side.

This is a long awaited update to my past review on the place. The owner and staff has bent over backwards to make up from, y previous visit. I have been to the restaurant a couple of times, Each time the staff has been helpful and friendly. The food has been what it should have been on my first visit. Excellent. I want to thank you guys for taking your reviews serious. No matter if it is a positive or negative review. You want to make your customers satisfied. That is all any person can ask. If I am the chance to stop in again. I will. Again, thanks for being so conscientious about the quality of your food.

I can’t think of any BBQ places that are in the Bellevue/Kirkland area, other than Dickeys. My dad is a BBQ lover, so we got the whole family together(10 people) and tried this place out. Dickeys is perfect for large groups. There is a lot of seating and the tables can be pushed together easily. They also have a family sized order which comes with a variety of meat and sides. The meat is soft and smokey, while the fries and onion rings are crisp and delicious. I like the fact that they have a few choices of BBQ sauce to choose from and it is self serve, so you can add as much sauce to your BBQ as you want. At the end of the meal, you can wrap up with all you can eat soft serve ice cream. I can’t wait to go back to Dickey’s. It’s such a fun restaurant for the fam.

The Good: Smoked meats. Huge taters. Awesome drink options. Really, go for a side of mac and cheap and get a huge float. When the right staff is there, the food and experience would be a 4 star. When the smoke flavor is there, it is nice. Then the brisket has a huge chunk, it is good. The beef baker was awesome and definitely worth it. The Bad: The price is a buck high. When the staff is suck, you are left hating the lackluster taste and the bad attitudes behind the counter. You can find the mac and cheap at every grocery store under the label Stouffers. The croutons were chewy. Not what you desire with the word croûton. The Ugly: The brisket. Sometimes good, sometimes underwhelming, but always minced up. Serve it whole in slices! People are allowed to use tableware to make the food small and consumable. The Smoked Turkey felt like processed-chunk-formed turkey. Over brined. The pulled pork was soo mysterious in flavor, we couldn’t tell if it was even pork. The ‘dinner roll’ was pale and tiny. Looked like a sheet of dough cut into odd shapes and baked as a sheet. The ribs were tough and fatty. Also very little meat without a mouthful of cartilage. Conclusion: It is ok. The rest of the fam hated it, however, I thought it fit the bill. The smoke flavor the second time around was sorely lacking, and the people behind the counter were rude to both each other and customers. The only redeeming quality I felt was good staff on some days and the 40oz float you can make.

Came here on a Sunday for kids eat free. My kids can normally eat a full adult meal, but thought we could try. First, the meals aren’t cheap. $ 12 – 18 seemed to be the range of what I was considering. We ended up trying a variety of things and sharing amongst us all. First, the offer sweet tea. Rare here in the PNW. From a southern standpoint it wasn’t sweet. Apparently here it’s considered too sweet. We asked, they don’t plan on making it sweeter. It’s a start, but not true southern tea from the southern family standpoint. Food was good. Beef brisket was tender, good flavor. Pork was tasty. Several burned areas… I know it’s slow roasted and happens, but you don’t want to eat char meat… you need mostly good meat and some toasted pieces. I can see how the wrong edge of the meat could be a bad meal. The sausage was just ok. The fried okra was salty. Looked frozen style… all perfectly battered. Kids tried mac and cheese and said it was good. The bread they served was okay. Kids liked it. I thought it was just ok. Where’s the cornbread??? We enjoyed our meal here. However, it’s expensive. Our friend bought a beef brisket…$ 75. Our 2 meals and drinks were over $ 30. Good thing we had free kid meals! We will be back, but only for the free kid meal days.

Ok partna let me honest with ya. I’m from Texas and I’ve ate at Dickeys all over Texas and I geninuinly enjoy it. Dickeys sho aint the best BBQ in the world but considering the only thing up here to eat is Phở and Salmon it’s aight. The food is good, BBQ is fine, Ice Tea is GREAT! I loooooove the fried Okra which is hard to find up here in Yankee land . My one complaint is the roll they serve with meals. Its nasty and FUNK! I ALWAYs throw that shit in the trash. That is not a roll, I don’t know WTF it is but it’s not a roll. Also I’m pretty sure that the Dickeys in Texas serves cornbread and not those pasty ass rolls. My recommendation is ditch the rolls and get cornbread to the owner.

Dickey’s has decided to make some changes for 2015. None for the better. The worst part is that they changed their staff and gave them instructions to be cold hearted scrooges. We used to go in and get the(wed) special with double pork instead of pork and sausage — which are equivalent in price on the normal menu. Now that is not allowed. The explanation we were given was that they would run out of pork by the end of the day. This is unacceptable for multiple reasons: 1) we’ve been going here for months ordering the same thing without a problem 2) it shouldn’t be unpredictable to prep for specials since their specials haven’t changed for a while 3) there should be data or past experience to help with this.(a more acceptable excuse would be a management mandate… But even that seems to be a stretch since Dickey’s is supposed to channel Texan hospitality). The portion of the sides, like mac and cheese, doesn’t fill up the cup like it used to And finally, they raised their lunch specials by a dollar, so it no longer falls under the ‘under $ 10 lunch’ category. An understandable price adjustment but that in addition to the staffing change was just too much. I will no longer be suggesting this Dickey’s for lunch.

My group and I ordered a family value meal. It came with 3 sides, 8 biscuits, and 3 different meats(at one lb each). We got beans, mac & cheese, and cole slaw. No complaints here as there was enough and they were good. Biscuits were nice and soft. We ordered briskets, turkey, and pulled pork. Still no complaints here as the meats were well cooked(but still no where near burnt). Also ordered the ribs, witch were my favorites. Do take advantage of the different bbq sauces they provide. Sweet, spicy, and mild. The unlimited soft serve was nice too. The venue was quite clean and the service was attentive to our needs. Tables weren’t too big or too small for our group. Well lit and had had western music flowing in from their speakers to match the food they were service.

I am updating my review. I have visited this establishment several times after my initial review and I am definitely a fan now. Not sure how they did it but I say my order once and I never have to say it again! I needed to update my review on this. Also, the specials are the greatest meal deals! Great price for the value and lots of food. Gotta love the soft serve, always consistent and the place is always clean. Management seems to really care and talks to everyone. Thanks for being a great lunch spot and always listening to your customers.

Daily special of a main + 2 sides + soda for $ 8.99 is a good deal that won’t leave anyone hungry. Tuesday special were 3 ribs and I had the green beans and jalapeño beans. All were quite good and I like that they heat their sauces like down south. Service on butcher paper and quarter trays. I used to have Dickey’s down in TX cater some corporate events and this reminded why. Decent quality at a good price.
