Went to exchange a shirt for a smaller size. Unworn, tag attached, receipt in-hand. Sales rep checked the expiration date(who knew that was a thing) and gave some condescending condolence and a suggestion about some consignment or second-hand store. Left the shirt on the counter. Won’t ever shop at express again. Good way to lose a long time customer.

There is so much crammed in their Sale section at the back. Plus with poor lighting, I wasn’t able to discern the color until I got to the fitting room. I’m so impressed with the staff here. They were able to track down a sale item in my size. While I was waiting, someone checked in to find out if I’d been helped, followed by a second person who updated me with a status. I haven’t had this kind of service.

Good place to shop for work clothes. Friendly customer service and their rewards points program makes a different in discounts. Recommended for all ages.

This place is why people rather shop online than in stores. I’ve heard of a greeter, but asking what we are looking for, what they could help us with more than 3 times in any situation is annoying. Happened 5 times, within 3 minutes. If you need someone to push items, mite mean it ain’t selling. Try different approach express customer service reps.

I went into express today because they advertised 40% off everything. The girl who helped me was friendly and polite. She helped me find my size and told me if stuff looked good or not. The cashier was also very friendly. I got 2 pairs of slacks 3 button ups a cami and a sweater for $ 220! I opened the store credit card and they stacked another 15% off so I got 55% off everything! Very pleasant shopping experience for someone who normally dreads going to the mall.

The customer service here plain sucks. I walked around the store twice this evening without being acknowledged, and later had a question about a dress. I kept looking over at the employees to see if they would notice my obvious staring and ask me if I needed help. They both looked my way, but then promptly returned to their conversation about why so-and-so broke up with so-and-so. I decided I didn’t really want the dress anyway, not if I had to beg for help. I totally get that I could have walked up and interrupted their gossip sesh to ask, but if I’m spending money somewhere I expect a certain amount of attention. You know, a simple«Hi» maybe?

Express is one of those stores that you shouldn’t be shopping at without a coupon because it’s marked up for it. The good news is the coupons are very frequent and easy to come by. They also have ridiculous sales(like the one thats going on now). I pulled up their Facebook page, liked a coupon, it was sent to my email address, I showed the cashier and bam -$ 30! So simple! The store is conveniently located by one of the exits/parking lot. It’s well laid out; there is ample staff around to help get the right sizes; the fitting rooms are clean. I find nothing wrong with this location and will be back!

Easy, convenient and cool enough to grab a quick change for work and or a night out when I don’t feel like trekking it home. The service is always so-so but I don’t expect Nordies-like attentiveness ever here. I run it and run out. And because I tend to just pull things off the shelves-I end up returning most of the items for improper fit and they have always been quick and easy to deal with in that aspect.

This place may be pricey, but wait until it goes on sale. I got a new job so i needed a lot of business type clothing. Their pants fit great and for forty to fifty bucks for nice fitting dress pants is a pretty good deal to me and those weren’t even on sale. Now, the dress shirts i bought were thirty bucks each for nice button down shirts. I also bought some tights here and they fit great and have not torn or snagged yet, which always seems to happen when i get tights. The associates don’t really help you unless you ask, but I’m pretty good on my own. Usually when I go in to try something on, I just help myself to a fitting room and start trying on the stuff, if i don’t like it than i leave it. When I made my big purchase which was over 200 bucks, i got two dress shirts, a skirt, a dress, the tights, and some nice slacks. I don’t think that is pricey… That is a lot of clothes. The dress was a nice black dress too. I will be back Express for more dress slacks, among other things! They have a sexy, classy fit and don’t look old fogy at all! :D

So when I rate it as «pricey», I mean just too pricey for their quality. Not worth it whatsoever. My first Express experience was a few years ago, and I didn’t go back for quite some time after the male worker peered over the door to see me changing in the dressing room. Then upon going back this past holiday season I found a fabulous dress and decided to buy it [then return it, upon finding that the seam just wouldn’t sit right]. Here is my cash register exchange with the guy: Guy: Do you have an Express card? You can save blahblah amount if you use it today. Me: I don’t but can I just use my mom’s card? Guy: Uhhh, welllll, no. Well… I mean, you can just sign up right now for your own. Me: Okay sure. Guy: So what’s your credit card number? Me: Well actually it’s a debit card, but the guy earlier said you can sign up with those too. Guy: Ummmm, yeah, no not really. *looks at brochure* Oh. Well okay, so you’re eighteen? Me: Haha no. Guy: Whaaaa? Shawty you’re kidding. Me: Noo I’m sixteen actually. Guy: Baby girl, let me tell you, when I was your age, I didn’t have any sorta card. *rings up dress* Me: Haha yeahhhh well… Guy: Here, *hands me coupons* I feel bad, so use these next time you come in, I’ll throw ‘em in for you since you’re a shawty. The look he gave me creeped me out. Bottom line: Express is the store I go to to see clothes that I desperately wish worked, but I have to go in knowing that they never will.

I agree with the first rater. I can say I used to shop here regularly, but now I feel it’s a hit or miss. My biggest complaint with express is their return policy. I purchased over $ 300 worth of clothes and tried to return a pair of broken earrings, never worn from a separate purchase, and the cashier gave me a hard time. Not only were they never worn, but she wanted to give me the clearance price for them($ 3.99). For a store that charges $ 50(or $ 49.50 to be precise), they should treat their customers with better service. Since they have 6 racks of jewelry, I think the cashier should have just let me grab another pair to exchange rather than paging the manager and having me at the store for an extra 20 mins. The manager agreed with me, but I just felt like the whole process was annoying and painful experience that could have been handled differently.

Back in the day Express/Express Men/Structure) was a pretty great place to get some nice clothes for just about any occasion i.e. date/club/bar/work/class at very affordable prices. I think what made there clothes great is that they offered the basic button shirts and slacks that had a decent quality look to them, at a fair price, and most importantly didn’t have any words/emblems plastered all over it that screamed«Hey look I’m wearing Gap, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister, Etc.» These days I feel Express’ quality has really gone down hill. Sure most of the clothes look the same, and keep a modern fit aka slim fit. Something about the material, especially in the 1mx shirt(which i’m sure are their #1 sellers to men) has changed. I noticed the shirts get wrinkled easier, and are much more noticeable when they do get wrinkled. They also tend to lose their color easier, and have this kind of sheen to it that makes it look cheap. So I now rule out Express for date/nightclub clothing. However, I’ll admit express is still a great place to get some work clothes… where else are you going to get four button shirts for a little over $ 100.maybe even less(depending what sale is going on). ~G
