Janice Vincent is a highly capable Feldenkrais practitioner. She’s not cheap, and my health insurance won’t pay for this kind of alternative medicine. The therapeutic effect of her work is very incremental and it takes many visits to make a difference, particularly with a chronic condition that’s developed over the years as mine has. All that said, though, once you’ve been through traditional western medicine, dutifully taken the drugs and done the physical therapy, and you still haven’t gotten relief for your joint and muscle pain, she may well be able to help. She helped me.

MindMoves is a wonderful and welcoming place to find wellness support and also space for events. I attended an Awareness Through Movement class, a private meeting group as well as arranged an event there. The group room is cozy, clean and well-​lit. Janice has created and contributed a great asset to the community.

Janice Vincent and the staff at MindMoves have made a dramatic change in my physical well being. I suffer from peripheral neuropathy and my back has been tight as a rock for years. I am now realizing how little movement I had as I’m now moving more freely, and comfortably. The change is quite dramatic.
I was getting regular massage and chiropractic treatments for my back which helped to some extent for short periods, but with the addition of the Feldenkrais treatments, I not only have less pain but I have increased mobility and comfort.

Wonderful Feldenkrais for bad backs and more — great for teaching you to move without stress or pain
I started Feldenkrais with Janice a few years ago to help with a chronically sore lower back. Rather than chiropractic, which fixes you for a period of time, Feldenkrais teaches you how to move your body and hold your body in a low stress way so pain isn’t created in the first place. In my case this involved changing my movement in walking so less stress was placed on my back.
It worked like a charm! My back pain has been gone ever since. And again, compared to chiropractic, this is a more or less permanent change since the underlying cause of the stress/​pain has been removed.
They work on all sorts of body mechanics, including sports, running, sleep problems — it comes down to body movement and mechanics.
I’m so glad I found this. My wife also did it for her shoulders which have been chronically sore and she thought it was a great help too.
Janice Vincent is the founder and there are other practitioners too. Janice is a long-​time student of Feldenkrais (she’s really into it, sort of a Feldenkrais nerd) and has been on their national boards etc.
