The Pepper Tree café is located in the office park where I work. I usually stop in for a vanilla latte as it’s consistently better than the lattes from Starbucks. The espresso is never burnt. Make sure you get a stamp card for your coffee! In terms of food I’ve only had a salad there, and it was fine — nothing special. I wouldn’t go out of my way to order lunch here, but its convenient for those of us who work in the surrounding office buildings.

Old reviews may not be relevant anymore. I visit this place pretty often, maybe once a month for the veggie sandwich. It’s giant, fresh, the bread is great and there are a lot of different veggies. It’s always the same, excellent. I’d recommend this place to anyone for an easy Bellevue lunch sandwich shop. People that run the place are also very nice and I like that they post the daily horoscope to read and busy yourself while your sandwich is being made.

I had a chicken burrito here at lunch time on a Friday. I thought that it was pretty tasty. I like really hot salsa, and they actually had something spicy enough! The food was fresh and the place was spotlessly clean. The staff here are super friendly too. I will definitely be back.

Love the daily specials. The burritos are really tasty but in size don’t compare to the ones from TacoD or Chipotle(although they are roughly the same price). The service is good and the restaurant employees are very friendly. If you’re in the area give it a try!

I’m a bit shocked by the bad reviews. Located in the center of a bunch of office buildings. I thought my burrito was actually quite good. I ordered the ground beef with pinto beans. I like that you can pick out different flavored tortillas such as spinach, garlic, wheat etc. The prices seem fairly reasonable. I believe my burrito was about $ 5.79. The staff seem friendly. Plenty of parking…

Weird. I liked this place. I noticed the reviews are all kinda old, so I wanted to give an update. I didn’t get a burrito, it seemed more like a sandwich place so I had a California Club sandwich — I thought it was really good; thick slices of wheat bread with turkey, avocado, bacon lettuce and tomato freshly prepared. Yummy. It’s a nice little area with quite few tables where you can sit and study/work/read while you eat. There’s tons of snacks and drinks, convenience store style. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 drinks, 2 little packages of cheese, and 2 bags of M&Ms. It came out to be a little under 20 bucks. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think that’s a bad deal at all? And I liked the sandwich a lot!

This place is pretty much what you’d expect for an office park deli. I can’t understand why anyone would order a buritto here — but then again, I’m originally from San Diego and know that one should not get Mexican food from a cateria style deli. I do like the fresh cut fruit that they have — and there certainly are enough beverage options. The sandwiches are fine, but nothing special. The whole place kind of feels like a college cafeteria or food court. I cannot imagine why anyone would possibly come here except for out of convenience. It’s in an office park! So, I’m a little suspect of Robert K.‘s review… I mean really, he lives in Seattle and works in Kirkland and randomly stops at the Pepper Tree for breakfast? Come on Robert — are you related to someone who might happen to own or run the Pepper Tree? I think something a little fishy is going on here. I will give Robert props for recommending the French Dip sandwich though. I had it for lunch today, and it was undoubtedly the best thing I’ve ordered from here.

It’s convenient & the sandwiches aren’t terrible. Definitely overpriced for what you get.

So this place gets most of its credit in my book because it is in my business park. I don’t want to drive anywhere, I don’t have food for lunch, and I missed the sandwich guy … Pepper Tree is my clear answer for lunch time jones. This place is pretty hit or miss for food. I have had some bad burritos, and probably will never try one here again. Sandwiches are very average, but quick and easy. I usually turn them into a wrap(cause their bread isn’t too good). These can be good, but depends on who makes it. Service is fast and friendly. Need to work on the food a bit.

I like going somewhere and playing«wonder what they’ll charge me today?@?», do you? If so, visit the pepper tree and you too can join in the fun! This place is a joke. The owner is one of the most cantankerous, grouchy, impatient souls I’ve met in food service. One day he’ll charge you $ 1.87 for a drink and some chips, the next day $ 2.37. You trying to make up for a slow day, dude? Thanks, pepper tree! Because of you, I bring my lunch to work 99% of the time. You’re in an office park outside of downtown bellevue where there’s nothing else around… if it comes down to no food or the pepper tree, I’m gonna starve!(oh, to be complete, the food quality isn’t that great either, maybe 2 ½ stars?)

This is the first 1 star I’ve issued and it’s well deserved! Really! The disappointment that permeates my being is left by a special that wasn’t and a price that was… well…special! We arrived after a wonderful tour of my best bud’s workplace. It’s within walking distance and it was supposed to be a nice capstone to the tour with more Q & A for our burgeoning game programmer. I ordered two specials and two drinks. The sandwiches were unremarkable deli sandwiches that came with a ranch salad. They were slapped together with the care of a brick mason dolloping up thick, gooey cement between bricks. The salad was dump trucked with a slime of what tasted like ranch dressing. So we get our plates, and drinks and go to pay. The shocker was a $ 17.00 bill with a line for a tip. Ummm, what happened to the price for the two specials? Ummm, this is a lunch line cafeteria style environment and I’m walking my food over to my table. The grumbly looking cashier gave me a indignant look as I scrawled my signature and accidentally dropped the community pen with the flower on the end into the«tip» jar. He pulled it out and slammed it back into the jar with the other pens and glared… I give him the WTF look. Start to finish the food was an absolute disappointment and we later determined our drinks were $ 3.00 a pop. The food and drink was no nectar of the gods nor did we expect it… but it seemed their prices deemed it so. They must be banking on the the proximity and convenience from the business park as justification for the steep charge. Definitely not visiting this joint ever again.

I see that my fellow employees feel the same way about this place… its within walking distance and has decent food, but its on the pricey side considering what it serves.

Seems a little pricey for what it is. It’s worth walking to, but only becuase it’s the only place to walk to.

It’s one of the few places that’s walking distance from work. I wouldn’t travel across town to visit, but it’s edible if you’re in the vicinity. Despite the name, they sell a lot more than burritos… sandwiches, soup, espresso, soda/red bull/candy, baked goods, etc. It’s an odd menagerie. The café itself reminds me of a convenience store. They also do faxed-in orders for large groups. One day there was a power outage in the neighborhood and neither the debit/credit card reader nor the cash register was working, so they gave everyone food on an I.O.U. basis.
