I enjoy it better than some of the other rice bowl places. Whenever I’m working in the area, I make sure to stop here for lunch

I stopped in here for lunch and we did not eat here. I am giving them a three because based on the line of people I am sure they are pretty good… BUT
I am diabetic and don’t do much sugar and rice, and I don’t like teriyaki. We talked to the person at the counter and everything is teriyaki. Now I can always «Hold» the rice. But I can’t really hold the teriyaki and just eat plain meat and veggies on a plate.
So, overall I am sure they are good, but if you don’t like teriyaki, try somewhere else.

This place gets a solid 5 stars from me. I tried it for the first time recently and was impressed by the quality, portion size and price. I work down the street so it’s walking distance from me. I’ve even contemplated eating there a few times a week because I dislike meal prepping and I try to eat less junk food. I’d recommend it to anyone

I came to this place to satisfy my craving for flame broiler. The location was convenient and the flame broiler was on the other side of Downey. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. I would say better then flame broiler even. I now come here once a week during lunch break at school. They have amazing service and the food is always fresh. I would gladly recommend this place to anyone and everyone

I really like their salmon bowl. The salmon taste fresh and is seasoned well. The only bad thing is the size of the salmon is tiny. I also get brown rice and veggies. It cost a $ 1 more for brown rice. The veggies are tasty and crisp. Their teriyaki sauce is also very good. Customer service is great. You might want to call in your order since they make your food fresh. Normal wait is about 15 – 20 minutes. Also ask for a rewards card. You get a free drink after purchasing 5 bowls/​plates and then a free chicken bowl after 10 purchases.

Love this place. It’s like flame broiler but BETTER! We got the Ultimate plate and Salmon plate. Food is delicious, portions are big, and the place is clean. Great find in Bellflower.

The place is clean and they have fast service. You can see them grilling your chicken or steak while you wait. I called and ordered on my way to break and they said 5 – 7 minutes i got there and only waited 2 minutes before my order was ready.
The bowels have the right amount of rice and chicken they are not stingy with it. I like mines with extra onion and they did as i said.
Only thing i dont like about this shopping center is its soooo small and they have such good places here like starbucks and wing stop that its always crowded and you can hardly find parking

Come on by to Maxx’ Grill. I come here at least once a month. Anything steak or chicken is good. The ultimate plate comes with rice, beef steak, chicken, veggies & a salad with a tangy sesame dressing. I’ve had the 3 tacos & you can mix & match between beef & chicken. The bowls are all good. All the meats are seasoned just right.
I haven’t had the shrimp or short ribs so I can’t comment on those items. I should try them but the beef & chicken always hits the spot.
The parking is horrible here, so that’s why I would take a later lunch to avoid the lunch rush hour here in the tiny plaza this restaurant is located in. Minus 1 star for that. It doesn’t help when almost all the businesses are food related. There’s a Starbucks with drive thru, Frozen Haven Yogurt, Maxx Grill & Wing Stop, plus a Bank of America ATM.
The portions matches the price you pay.

First time here and my first impression was great. Clean dining area, friendly service and healthy delicious meals. I ordered the Salmon Veggie Bowl. I like that you can see them cooking your food right there. So everything comes out hot and fresh. The portion was okay, Salmon was a little on the small size, but it was flavorful. The veggies was fresh tasting, not over cook. Brown Rice was perfectly done. Overall the quality was good and I’ll definitely will be back.

I visited Maxx grill during my lunch from work. I paid about 10 for a dish that, I feel, fell rather short. The shrimp plate comes with rice, salad, and three small skewers with grilled shrimp. Unfortunately, my shrimp was extremely dry and over cooked. It also had no seasonings other than the slight drizzle of teriyaki sauce on top. The rice and salad were good, but for the price, rice and a small side salad just won’t do. Perhaps if I return, I will try the salmon. I will update my review then. :)

MAXX GRILL IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE CHICKEN TERIYAKI PLACE TO EAT. It use to be golden bowl, however this is just healthier and has tons of flavor. The chicken bowl is delicious! The salmon bowl is just amazing, and the staff is always friendly.
I usually get a bowl before work and before the gym, the foods always cooked fresh and the wait it still very short. AND!!! They aren’t stingy in the sauces! If you like sauces, then sauce it up!!! Flame broiler Who?!? I’m serious, it’s that good! Parking sucks, but something always comes up… Prices are worth it! This place is a score!

Had lunch here with my coworker. It’s like a Flame Broiler, but they also have salmon and shrimp. We both ordered the salmon bowl, which is a bowl of white rice (you can pay extra for brown) a decently sized piece of salmon, and green onions if you like. It’s only $ 6.50!
The salmon is grilled with some sort of glaze — it was good. They offer soy, teriyaki, and sriracha sauce to jazz up your bowl with. I used all three :)
I would come back here again. We got here at 12:30 and it was pretty busy, but had died down by 1pm when we were leaving. Maybe I will call in my order next time and take it back to work, as it was hard to find a place to sit.
Also, the parking lot in this center is absolutely awful — good luck finding parking during peak times.

I love coming here for teriyaki bowls. Their sauce is good, I think thicker than the one at Flame Broiler. Don’t get me wrong, I like that place, too, but this is closer to where I sometimes live, and I feel you get more food for your buck here.
They have a good amount of options from bowls to plates and even teriyaki tacos. You can get chicken, beef, salmon, veggies, and I think they also have shrimp. They allow one substitution per plate/​bowl (white meat or brown rice, etc)
I’ve ordered both the chicken and beef bowls, as well as the chicken and veggie combo. By boyfriend always gets the chicken and beef combo. He’s ordered the salmon one once or twice, that was good, too.
My only complaints are that sometimes I end up with little black pieces of char or whatever from the chicken. Also, they share a tiny lot with Wing Stop, Starbucks and a frozen yogurt place, so it can get pretty crowded in there. This place is worth trying though! So so good!

Love this place, I usually go to flame broiler a lot but since discovering this place, I’m sold.
First of all service is always friendly and food is always fresh. Its usually made relatively fast so you don’t have to wait a long time. There siracha and teriyaki sauce on every table, and I’ve come on many occasions and its always filled. Little things like that make a difference. The table and benches are always clean, even the floor. They have sauces to go all lined up neatly and everything looks like its in place all the time. Spotless clean. I usually order a chicken with veggies bowl for 5.50 or just a chicken bowl for 5.25. It depends on my mood that day. For two people ordering 2 bowls and one drink its about 12 something which isn’t bad. I can never finish the bowl, only about half and save the rest for dinner. So it feeds me for 2 meals which I love. When you reheat your food it tastes the same as when you had it fresh and it tastes healthy, not all that msg salty crap at most places. The only thing I don’t like is the parking, its in a small plaza and hard to find spots open sometimes. But besides that I love it and will continue coming back. Attire is causal.

I wish I could give 5 stars, but the parking in this plaza is horrible. It is the one reason I hesitate coming to this place. If I’m coming in for take-​out, I’d rather park at the 7 – 11 or lickety splitz plaza across the street. However, this place has some of the softest, most tender, moist steak I have tasted at any place serving teriyaki. The salmon is pretty good here too. I’m a huge fan of the steak tacos. They’re hot sauce is pretty good too, not just heat but flavorful.
Inside dining is possible, but unlikely. There’s only about 4 or 5 tables. Good thing is that the Starbucks a couple doors down has outside tables if you’re hell bent on eating here.
