This is a good place for Mexican ice cream. They have a lot of different flavors and reasonable prices. Debit/credit transactions are an extra fee.

I really love this place. I have enjoyed everything I’ve every eaten there. The staff is always friendly and the establishment is very clean. Just bring cash so you aren’t charged extra to use your debit card.

My favorite place to get homemade Mexican ice cream! So yummy! I usually order a Diablito de Guayaba y Limón! SOGOOD; if you like sour, sweet, and chile ! Mm mmmm mmm! The best part about this place, in my opinion, is the fact that they make all their ice cream in house ! That’s pretty special!

Yum yum yum! Staff is friendly and helpful. Came in and got 6 paletas and a strawberry banana smoothie, which we asked to be made with a milk base(as opposed to ice). The paletas were tasty. The milk ones were creamy and flavorful with real fruit in them. The water based paletas were refreshing and not overly sweet, also with chunks of fruit inside. The only thing is that the smoothie was not very cold, but honestly I see that in a lot of paleterias and bionico places, so I’m not gonna hold that against them, but I will ask if there is something they can do to make it colder next time. The actual flavor was right on.

I live for the pistachio paletas at La Monarca. As a Bellflower native, I can’t believe it took me this long to discover this place. All the paletas are homemade, and the flavors vary depending on what they make that day.

Authentic Mexican ice cream that is good and fair priced is hard to come by. La Monarca definitely hits the spot and isn’t heavy on wallets. All of their products are made at the location which is hard to come by. They carry a huge variety of paletas and they’re only $ 1.50! Some are milk based and others are not for those with lactose problems. Their raspados come in different sizes and of course different flavors. My favorite is the coconut with Lechera(condensed milk). I highly recommend this joint to anyone interested in eating truly authentic, mind-blowing ice cream!

Excellent paletas and friendly staff. I was a little confused about the strange flavor I kept getting when I was eating the fresas con cream paleta. Not sure what was going on there could’ve been my tastebuds, but the others a bought were excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

Oh Unilocal! You temptress you! Everytime I open my Unilocal app at my parent house I see pic of yummy fruits with Chile and limon under places nearby. It only took 1, 2, OK just 1 glance for me to start looking for it. I had errands to do for my dad that day but the picture of the fruits and Diablito was in the back of my mind through the whole day. So when all was said and done I had 1 stop before dropping my Daddy off… La Monarca! The place is quite colorful welcoming us with their bright yellow sign. It is located on the corner of Bellflower and Rosecrans in the center with Royal Thai and Granny’s Donut. It is nestled between the tobacco store and the massage parlor/continuously changing business in the center, The lady there is really nice. It was a bit hard to communicate at first, the 2nd time I came she had her son help us. Either way we always get our order through. They have a selection of home made paletas and ice cream de agua or de leche. There’s also bionicos, raspados, nachos, chimichanga, aqua de frutas naturales and tons of other yummies that are bliss to your taste buds. PALETASDEAGUA $ 1.50 Tamrind, Tamrind with Chamoy, Mango, Mango with Chile, Pepino with Chile, Pineapple, Strawberry, Coconut, Lime and Jaimica PALETASDELECHE $ 1.50 Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Caramel, Pecan, Rice, Cheese, Coffee, Cookies, Mamey, Pistachio, Prunes, Egg Nog, Fruit, Cappuccino and Strawberry with Cream ICECREAM $ 1/Scoop Diablito S$ 5 M$ 6 L$ 7 Mango, Tamrind, Lime, Strawberry, Vanilla, Cookies, Gansitos, Chocolate, Choco Zomarano, Strawberry with Water, Strawberry with Milk, Cheese, Pecan, Pistachio and Mamey My favorite is the Diablito with Mango and Like Ice cream if I get the small or Mango, Lime, Tamrind and Strawberry with Water Ice Cream when I get the large. Each scoop is generously covered with Chile lime sauce and a scoop of real fresh mango bits and Chamoy! Every bite is a burst full of flavor! Yummmay!(^_^) On light days I like to get the scoop of Mango/Lime/Strawberry with Water/Tamrind with Chile on top. The paletas are made fresh with fruit chunks towards the bottom. I would recommend the Mango con Chile, Pepino con Chile, Tamarind con Chamoy or Watermelon! This place is definitely worth stopping by at least once but be careful, you might get hooked on their yummies(^_^)

This is hands down the best Mexican ice cream spot around! Not only is it family owned and operated but the ice cream and other treats are truly authentic. I’ve been going to La Monarca since it opened a couple years ago and have never had a bad experience… And quite frankly I doubt I ever will. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable regarding their products, and when they recommend you something it’s never a risk because everything they serve is delicious. I highly recommend the diablitos, I get mine with one scoop nieve de limón and one scoop nieve de mango. SOGOOD! The one thing I would probably warn Unilocalers about is that this place has no AC, which is pretty ironic for an ice cream place, so it gets very hot and stuffy inside but well worth dealing with for great tasting treats.

The best homemade ice cream and pop cicles. The little lady who is always there is so nice and helpful. They also sale bionicos, raspados, and other delicious stuff. Try this place out, you won’t be disappointed.

After getting eating some munchies from Tacos Puebla from across, there is no better place nearby to grab some authentic Mexican ice cream. Watermelon Paleta was good. Mangoneadas on the hand was BOMB! One of the best I’ve ever tasted. The mango pieces are so tasty with just the perfect amount of chili and sweetness. Authentic Mexican style ice cream indeed.

Mexican style homemade«neveria» ice cream. Enough said. Tried their Dablito 1st time here along with a bunch of their Paletas. OMFG… so good its ridiculous. Ive had spicier Diablitos, diablitos with more fancy toppings, but never one made with Nieve de Limon. Orgasmic. The Lime ice cream which is water based on dairy, instead of just shaved ice, taste like magic. Also tried their Tamarindo, pepino con chile paletas, vanilla, watermelon, nothing disappointed except the pineapple, tasted more like orange?.. Anyhow going back for my Diablito fix of Limon with Mango and pepino.

Authentic, delicious Mexican ice cream. Why didn’t know about this place sooner?! Their diablitos are excellent and made with fresh cut mango. Their cemitas are well cooked and topped with mayo, cheese, butter and sprinkled with chili powder. The lime paletas are probably the best I’ve ever had. Price is fair. Establishment is very clean and well kept.

I will be going to this hidden gem more often now that I’ve found it! There are a ton of flavors to choose from and you definitely can’t beat the price. I got a scoop of mango con chile and I was not disappointed at all! When she told me it was a $ 1, I had to ask her again how much it was because its the first time I’ve had paleta for such a good price.

Umm… what can I say about this place that hasn’t already been said? Homemade paletas, are you kidding me? Yes, and YES, thank you. I have tried fresas con crema, mamey, cajeta, and mango con chile so far. All have been really good. I just love that they are homemade and that the shop appears to be run by what seems to be 3 generations of women. It’s hot as heck in here in the summer, that’s the one downside. But the paletas hit the spot. I’ll have to try some of their similarly flavored ice creams one day, but I want to explore the rest of the paleta menu, first.
