This is another good place to drink beer in bham! I go here sometimes to have a mosaic IPA and a grilled cheese, I love bringing my daughter here it’s a fun place for everyone

I experienced Aslan in its early days just starting out so my review is overdue and probably outdated. The ale I had was very green, overly hoppy and trying desperately to have more flavor. I had sliders that were under seasoned, tacos that were boring and predictable accompanied with fries that where cold. Personally its not my favorite atmosphere, cold and cliché within the PNW beer world. That being said, I do wish to give Aslan another try as the sour I had from this past summer was superb, and I can only imagine they have put more effort into the destination.

Great beer, great food and great atmosphere!!! Went there for dinner on Friday night and it was pretty busy, we ordered the chips and dip for an appetizer before dinner but it never came out. We were pretty disappointed we didn’t get it because it looked so good! We had the chicken BLTs and they were delicious! We will definitely go back!

As should be expected, their beer has improved since opening but I’m still not a true believer. It went from«ew, what is this, and why am I paying for it» to «OK, but still, why am I paying this much for this» — if you’re looking for really great beer, there are enough other fantastic breweries to keep you busy. The service can be slow but the staff is very nice, the food is good but overpriced for what it is, and the space/location are nice but it gets very loud when it’s crowded. Free wifi though, which was a pleasant surprise.

My wife and I decided to drive up from Centralia, WA to watch Matt Maher at the Mount Baker Theatre-Bellingham. Since we got here early, we checked in and looked up a place to have a drink and grab a bite. We found the Asland Brewing Company. Great beer, excellent food, and just a good time. I think we will come back to it next time we are up here. The pork tacos have a lot of flavor to them.

The service was really slow, atmosphere too loud to have a conversation, and worst of all the beer was gross & weak.

The food was delicious but the atmosphere was the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. As soon as I sat down I knew I’d made a mistake. The whole dinner I sat and ate while being stared at by strangers across the table from me. Probs won’t go back.

What a great spot for food and beer! Definitely share the poutine with others, it’s a rich treat! The Hawaiian bowl is a must try! Salty, sweet in a perfect bowl, I added pork and was super full. There’s also great ciders and a house red or white wine for those non beer drinkers. The seating is open enough that you could have a party of 2 or 15 and be accommodated easily. Be willing to wait because this place gets very busy but the food is great and worth a wait.

Decent hang out spot with a good atmosphere. Good variety of beers. The only problem is a price for a quantity of a beer, especially since it’s a brewery, you would expect cheap prices, but instead, they’re high up. Food is ok. Burger I ordered didn’t really have any flavor.

We tried out Aslan for the first time and we will be back. Great food(I had the Bison Burger and my wife had the grilled cheese). The beer was also great.

We have never been dissatisfied with the food and beverages at Aslan. Upscale taproom-style bench seating works for great conversation, meeting people and a laid back atmosphere. Dawn Patrol(a pale ale of the lighter variety) is served cold and fresh, as are all their ales. The food is excellent and a great value for the price. I had their(gourmet) grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup the other day… delicious, filling, and only 7 dollars! If you go before 5 pm(or after 9 pm) the pints are $ 3.75 instead of the usual $ 4.75. Also, Aslan has an unusual amount of free street parking for a downtown eatery. A great drinking/dining experience is guaranteed at Aslan!

Came here during the end of November with 6 other friends shortly after our camping excursion. This was our last stop in beautiful Bellingham before driving back home and the experience was great. The food itself was really tasty, and arrived promptly, which was amazing considering we all ordered different beers and a variety of different food items. The service on the other hand was good, but not great. While the server who took care of our table was really, REALLY, nice, and was super attentive, there seemed to be some confusion about who ordered what every time we ordered a beer. Drink orders got confused, and our group had to switch plates around to make sure we got what we ordered. But keep in mind, although this little confusion tends to happen with bigger groups, our server was always there to make sure everything turned out ok, and that was amazing. All in all, the pretty amazing food and the attentive service really made our final few hours in Bellingham totally worth it! I will definitely be back when I am in the area again.

These guys are really tearing it up lately; we see their kegs all the time in Seattle, and many of them are pretty amazing. The Disco Lemonade is particularly addictive. It’s great to finally make it in and see in person what they have going on. The building is a nice testament to the value of re-use. From the outside, it looks like a fairly ordinary structure that could have been there anywhere between 30 and 60 years, but cleaned up and looking very presentable. Inside, it’s clear that they’ve taken the time to do things all the way right. The main taproom runs table after table; everybody sits on fairly dainty little stools. There’s a ton more seating outside, row after row of picnic tables. You get a very clear sense right away that they really pack ‘em in here. The ceiling’s high, and there are windows from floor to ceiling across a wall and a half or so. Across the back, there’s a big bustling bar with a full squad hustling to pull pours and get glasses out. This is where things get kinda cool – you can see through big cut-outs and windows into the brewhouse, which is huge. There are several columns of big stainless tanks, and you can see clipboards on ever fermenter, so you know they each have a batch of something happening inside. These guys are busy! Everything is well-designed, with a nice mid-century modern approach that matches the architecture and creates a cohesive feel. There are chalkboards above the bar, listing every beer pouring, and then there are menus on every table, attached to little clipboards – they go through the specialty beers, mainstream lineup beers, and a couple pages of pub grub. It’s really easy to get your questions answered here; the beer menu lists every detail in a very coherent way: ABV, style, size, price, flavor profile. It’s all useful information everywhere you look. The menu is a great taproom rundown, starting with chips and dip and ending a with a little list of desserts. It’s all very thoughtfully put together, all organic(just like the beers here), or close to it, anyway. We only had the chips and the rockfish tacos, but everything was fresh, and everything was assembled thoughtfully. They really make sure to do things right in the kitchen. The happy hour prices are fantastic. We got out with food and multiple rounds of beer for under forty bucks, without even getting most of our stuff during happy hour. Add to all this the fact that everybody who works was cheerful, friendly, moving quickly, and able to answer every question anybody had off the tops of their heads, and you can just tell that everything is well-run here from the top down. Even the graphic design on the coasters and shirts is cool(provided you like tie dye). You don’t necessarily have to notice how different this place is; you could easily wander in, have a couple beers, watch the Hawks, and leave happy. But if you hit a lot of breweries and really appreciate the little things, this place really shines.

Aslan is truly a dream! I love the industrial feel of the restaurant — huge windows, metal accents and succulents as far as the eye can see. My friend and I came here during happy hour at around 3pm. It was a little confusing because there was no hostess so you just had to grab a menu and find an open seat. Our waitress was very friendly and stopped by our table multiple times to make sure our food was delicious and our mason jar water glasses were full. Being that it was happy hour and I had heard nothing but great things about this place, I took it as an opportunity to feast! I ordered the macaroni and cheese, elote and bison burger with waffle fries. The macaroni and cheese was very cheesy and I loved the addition of the broccoli. However, it was very bland and could have benefitted from some type of seasoning. The elote(mexican corn) was TODIEFOR. I could eat it every single day! It was the perfect balance of sweetness from the corn, spiciness from the chipotle sauce and savory from the cotija cheese. I also loved the Bison Burger. I had never tried bison before, but the meat was juicy and very well cooked! My friend ordered the poutine so of course I had to snag a bite. It was my first experience with poutine and I fear that no other poutine will live up to Aslan’s! Wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

Amazing food! Great atmosphere and staff. The food is simply amazing. Had the root beer it wasn’t what I’m used to but could be amazing to the right pallet. I’d recommend any of the bowls! Check took awhile the server got confused and I think he kinda got flustered. Grady for large groups

I came for the beer, but stayed for the food! I am not overly impressed with the drinks here, but the food is good enough for me to want to keep going back. I love the atmosphere and feel of the place, and love how local and amazing it really is. I always have a good time there, and only wish there were a little bit better beers to choose from.

One word: YUPPIES! *in the voice of that dude from Portlandia* I was super thrilled to try this brewery because it’s got a stellar logo and the beers looked good. The beer I tried, the«light,» was not bad, but this place was slammed when we went due to a private event. Thinking this would be a casual brewery, my lady and I rolled in on our longboards and felt a bit snubbed and there wasn’t much elbow room. Probably on a non-event night it’s a lot better, so I’ll update my review when I try it again. Perhaps keeping the private event enclosed somewhere would have solved this.

BUSY place. I liked the décor — lots of windows to enjoy people-watching. Boyfriend waited forever for beer and felt that the staff was a bunch of college kids that didn’t give a F — . Oh well, we tried the sampler & it was good. Best one? Disco Lemonade but ONLY if you add the basil simple syrup. Delish!

I’ve gotta admit, Aslan has really started to grow on me. I wasn’t a huge fan when they first opened, but as they’ve grown and matured over their first several months here in Bellingham they’ve attracted a huge following and their beer — and food — are just getting better all the time. I’m a big fan of their Bham Brown, and they also are starting to offer some good varieties of IPA’s(try their hoppy and delicious Batch 15) and even a sour or two. For the gluten-free set, they always have some good cider on tap, plus their house red and white wines. Food-wise, their black bean dip with house-made chips is an amazing deal at just $ 5. Their tacos are good too — my favorites are the yam or the fish. Come during happy hour(sadly, it ends at 4 pm — what’s the deal with that?) and you can try lots of small bites for great prices. My daughter love-love-loves the mac ‘n cheese from their kids’ menu(it’s homemade, with broccoli). I’ve also heard their home-made root beer is awesome, though I haven’t tried it yet. It’s great to see Aslan always busy and succeeding in increasingly beer-centric Bellingham. They also recently expanded their outdoor seating area, so that should be fun this summer!

Great beer and food selection. Lovely service. Lots of windows to let in light. Tried a five beer sampler for only $ 8! My favorite was the seasonal FIFA. The Mac and cheese was piping hot and served in ramekin. That mornay sauce was on-point! Black bean dip was delicious, topped with cotija cheese and served with fresh and grease tortilla chips. Grabbed a hoodie for $ 40 because I love the brewery logo which is a lion(think of Aslan from Chronicles of Narnia). There are several breweries in the same part of town and I recommend you prioritize stopping into this one. Cheers!
