HOT. WINGS. More like Hot Damn. I love them. Add on the mud pie and I’m sold. It’s getting a little more«clubby» every time we stop by which isn’t very often since we live in Seattle. The waitstaff is great so that’s a definite plus. Bathrooms aren’t atrocious, also another plus. There’s also a whole section dedicated to pool tables. Plenty of seating to go around.

The food is pub food to perfection! I ordered the happy hour burger and jalapeño poppers. got exactly what I expected for the price. I did notice they have a wide array of «real» food items that several patrons were ordering. From what I overheard, it was«okay» A majority of the people there seem like locals. A lot of 20-something kids hand out in the pool table section, while a majority of patrons in the bar area seemed to be middle to later aged. But most if not all were locals since they were mostly on first name baseses. I was in town only for«day off exploration» reasons and wanted to find a local pub to watch the first World Series game. Perfect pub to watch a game. It was pretty laid back, place seemed clean. You get what you expect. The staff was really friendly, and seemed like good people. They kept a positive face, despite working at a bar(except for one person that was off her shift just as I arrived).

Really yummy food, good drinks, friendly bartender and security. Always my go to spot to get cheap drinks before we hit the main core of downtown. One suggestion though? Turn the music down a notch. Its way too loud, can’t hear the person across the table from you. One night me and one of my girlfriends got drinks here and the next day my throat was sore from having to yell while talking to her.

Had food at this place for the last time. Great service but the food made me sick. Used to eat here all the time and it’s gotten worse and worse. This was my favorite dt burger joint. Sad day.

I’ve been here a few times. On several occasions, it was almost empty. Then, one time, it was a zoo … zoo exponential, actually. I actually came in looking for food more so than libations. Three words: Mud. Bay. pie Mud Bay is one of the bodies of water in and around Bellingham, WA, should you look at a map. This decadent, chocolate laden pie bearing its name is delicious. It’s a bar with bar food that may have a lot of students in attendance, depending on whether school is in session or it is the mandated, rotating place to see and be seen. I’ve had burgers and sandwiches with fries at other times, too. They were also decent. The bartenders and servers take care of things quickly, without appearing rattled and without displaying a «holy shit, I’ve got all these effin’ obnoxious collegiate patrons hounding me for one thing or another» attitude. If you go for more than drinking, playing pool, and listening to music, and you venture into the realm of food, don’t forget to order a slice of Mud Bay pie.

This place has a pretty cool vibe. There are two things I love most about this place: shuffleboard and $ 2.50 wells on Saturday nights. The music selection always seems just right. The only reason I knocked off a star is because the wait for the bar is usually super insane. But, you should check this place out.

Great place for pool and fairly priced drinks– but the music is way too loud. You can’t hear someone talking right next to you.

May not look like it when you walk in, but the food here is really good and so is the service. Cheap, good stuff on the happy hour menu if you come early(they open at 4) The chicken wings are delicious.

For a Wednesday night this place had a good, laid back crowd. Strong drinks, friendly atmosphere. Door guy was friendly and chatty. Clean pool tables, and fairly straight pool sticks for the house… Didn’t get to try the food but will be back. Lots of room for a fun night!

If you are a regular, this bar is one of the best in town. The bouncers always welcome you with a warm greeting, the bartenders remember your name and ask how you’ve been, and all is well. But here are some things to know: On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday this bar is completely packed with Western students. And I mean pushing-through the masses, kind of packed. Also Mo is the best bartender. He’s always super friendly and pours the best drinks. The bar and grill is always the best place to start your night. ALWAYS! I’ve eaten the food there only twice and it’s your run of the mill bar food. Nothing super exciting. So if you’re young and want a bar where you can sit down with a stiff drink and maybe watch the game, definitely make this your go-to spot.

Stopped in after the Seahawks/Broncos game, sat at the Bar and the Bartender didn’t even acknowledge us. Sat for a few more minute and was totally ignored! Left and will NEVER come back! Service IS everything! EPIC Fail!!!

Great TV’s for football watching. Shuffleboard and pool tables to keep you entertained. The food is gross, but they have beer. Don’t come here I eat. If I were rating purely on food«2» stars. But since the environment is fun, and it’s fairly clean — «3» stars it is.

I was able to try their food today. It was tasty. We had the South Bound burger and I wasn’t disappointed! Always a good experience here!

When I was a student in Bellingham, Bellingham Bar and Grill was a great place to go with friends on the weekends. Their drinks are ridiculously cheap and well-made(wells were only $ 2.50 when I was last there a couple years ago). The bartenders are fun and friendly. There is also a lot of seating, which is perfect for a more low-key evening. The music can be on the loud side, but it is a bar, after all. If you’re looking for a place to just go with friends and unwind, I recommend Bellingham Bar and Grill.

I love the updates that this bar has done over the years. The prices are always really reasonable and there are a lot of pool tables. Karaōke is always a good time and don’t forget about progressive wells. I have a lot of good memories here and even though it’s call Bellingham bar and grill now it will always be downtown Johnny’s to me.

I think I’ve officially turned the corner and started becoming an ajusshi… and not in the«make a lot of money and drive around in an exotic car where people enviously wonder what you do for a living» kind of ajusshi… More like the«complain too much about loud music and enjoy eating the pieces of pork belly that have bits of cartilage» type of middle aged Korean man. To wit: The music here is loud as shit and the crowd is goddamn pretentious. Every time I’m here it’s always because I’m dragged there by my friends who claim, «All the girls come here, man! We gotta go where the girls are.» To which I normally scream in response, «Fuck these ugly-ass bitches!» over the din of the crazy music that’s invariably played here. Of course, with my unfortunate sense of timing, I’ve screamed this on multiple occasions in that rare span of quiet time in between songs for the entire bar to hear. As I head home and walk through the door and am greeted by the sight of my «I usually like to read a book while laying in bed on Friday nights.» girl and the dog sleeping peacefully on the couch together, I’ll grab a beer or make myself a strong drink. Both of them love their sleep, so I try to slide in quietly on the sectional between them. At some point, the Miss. will wake up, and her voice clouded by sleep, both plaintive and innocent, she’ll ask me, «Did you have fun, sweetheart?» Not as much as I’m having now, babe.

The bartenders and bouncers and I think the owner not only told me my service dog couldn’t come in, but told me that«a woman like me»(disabled) «shouldn’t be here.» It was disgusting discrimination, and the cop I talked to said it’s happened before here.

They have a good amount of pool tables, which makes me happy(and is one of the first things I notice about a bar, especially in Bellingham). The drinks are good, the staff are friendly enough, and they do progressive wells sometime in the week(if my memory holds true?). Karaōke is fun enough, but if it’s karaōke you want, I’d suggest Rumors instead. Bellingham Bar and Grill(or Downtown Johnnys, as it will always be to me) is more of a pool hall bar, and I love it!

Outstanding service and delicous bar food in a covernous old store front in downtown Belligham, steps from he Mt. BAker Theater. The bar features three pool tables, yard of hardwood floors for dancing, falst screens a’plenty. Our adorable waitress was attentive and friendly. The martini my 1+ had was excellent(thought they were out of mint for the mojito she would have preffered) I had an excellent back cheesburger to accompany my Stella Artois. Very good experience, will be back.
