This company has absolutely no interest in customer service or the quality of its staff. It is an absolute mess to deal with, the hold times are insane, the techs that come out are always late by a large number of hours, and they use bait and switch techniques.

This service has been the worst I have ever experienced. They lost my account and it took several days to get a hold of someone that could even acknowledge I existed. They tack on all sorts of fees, most egregious is the Internet Cost Recovery Fee, which they say is to build and maintain Internet services. It’s supposed to be their job to build and maintain Internet services. Once they got my account fixed they lost my autopay info, then let late fees build up for a few months before they let me know I owed anything. Their customer service staff is smarmy and unhelpful, and every time you get disconnected you have to start all over.
Get anything else, literally anything else, available to you.

Centurylink sucks. They charged me an extra $ 70 claiming that I payed them with a checked that bounced, I never payed them with a check, let alone that they said it was a year ago. It would also be nice if the bandwidth would match what they promise and the internet wouldn’t drop constantly. Once the new provider begins in my area I am definitely dumping this worthless company. All in all centurylink sucks.

I ordered service though this company and was charged $ 134.93 for a modem. It was a bundle package with direct TV. When I moved to my home I did not have line of site for the direct TV and called to cancel and have the modem charge refunded. Not a problem you should see the refund in your account in 72 hours. 96 hours later no credit. In called to check the status and there is now no record of the transaction and no one knows what happened to my $ 134.93. 4 hours of phone calls and no resolution. This IMHO is horrible customer service. Buyer beware.

I’ve lived in multiple countries, and this is BY FAR, the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with.
a) They miss appointments to set up your service, demanding you miss 4 hours of work every time because they only will come mon-​fri, 9 to 5. It took nearly 1 month before someone made their appointment.
b) They charge you for goods (renting a modem) that you have already returned.
c) They don’t respond to emails, forcing you to call them to try and solve an issue.
d) Often they force you to fill out a survey when calling in to get help. which you can not opt out of.
e) Every person you are sent to (on the phone) has to ask for all your information, just to tell you they are going to transfer you to another department– eventually ending back up at the department you started from.
f) They tell you they will fix something and they don not keep their word. This has happened on several occasions, and I’ve only had their service 3 months.
I am already planning to cancel my bill, the only issue is that — once again– they make it impossible to contact them. I see now it is on purpose, because they don’t want to take responsibility for their extraordinarily poor service.
Use anyone but them, you will not regret it.

If you can find an alternative to CenturyLink and its crappy phone and DSL service do it! They are rude, unprofessional, and beyond words is their terrible technology. We just ditched our land line with them and hope to get out of a DSL-​hell contract with them.

I had great service in the past, and now that they have upgraded to faster service I am going to switch back.
Comcast’s constant blunders, price hikes, inability to fix service, inability to stick with their promises, the lack of concern that they disconnected and lost my number when they weren’t supposed to, and on and on, just leaves me in awe of how big, greedy, not customer oriented, and just plain bad Comcast is.
