A night at Glow can be a hit or miss. My friends and I always came here since cover was usually free, not sure if that’s the case now. The line to get in can be long. The club itself is upstairs above Bob’s Burger. They play a bunch of mainstream music but a variety of genre… Including rock. It is Bellingham after all, the crowd is waaaay different than Seattle. The drinks were pretty good and the bartenders were really friendly, the Glowstick was my favorite. They’ll even make you a mystery drink you can choose from a bucket if you’re indecisive about what you want. The club even has games and arcades at their upper level and they have Mario Kart 64 at their main bar! I think the night depends on the crowd and music, I’ve had good nights and bad nights here. The last time I was here was for my graduation in August 2014, and I found out girls are allowed to dance on the stage but they’ll kick guys out of it. Oh, and I just found out during the day, professors can hold presentations here. How random. I would probably come back here if my friends and I are in Bellingham and down for a night out. But overall it’s a very college-student dominant club… Probably like any other club in the area.

Pros: Lot of people dancing, typical club music, and the arcade upstairs. Now for the cons, I am basing this off of a negative experience which I have a bias, you could easily enjoy the place. I’ve been to glows twice before my third time and it was always alright. This time the bouncer took a quick look at my and looked at my Minnesota drivers license and decided that he wasn’t going to let me in from the start. However, they decided to test me on my licence, which I would guess was a formality. I’m a 23 year old, who recently moved to Seattle to be a Software Engineer. I told him my situation and that I hadn’t had time to get my Washington State ID. Now I understand that he needs to make sure that he isn’t letting anyone under the age of 21 in, however I’m 23 and answered all the questions he asked me about my ID. He put it up to the blacklight to make sure it was a legitimate Minnesota ID and everything passed. However, if I were to guess, I don’t fit the look of the typical glow atmosphere. His test included spelling my name out, asking where my name originated from, asking the address provided on my licence, and having me sign a piece of paper to verify signature. I passed everything, except he said the signature was«close» but he wasn’t going to let me in. Then he proceed to stand his ground against me and say«I’m lucky he doesn’t take my ID and give it to the Washington Police». He was acting as if he was doing me a favor. All of this time he was being extremely rude and judgmental of me. I will admit at the end there, I got a little upset and was saying«I don’t get it it, it’s a real ID. You can just take my ID?». I said it a little snappy and apologized right after, and he stood up trying to intimidate me.(I’m not a big guy, I’m not intimidating) . This all happened while I was sober and I am sympathetic that being a bouncer you have to be careful to not let underage people in. However, I still feel like since my personal experience was negative, I have to give such as a review.

I used to enjoy this place back when it was new now I Dred when my friends want to go here! The almost forty looking door bouncer is the absolute biggest douche he thinks he’s a real tough guy with his minimum wage collage student job. They have good bartenders though… but if you can avoid going Save your money and go to the royal or underground where the employees are actually friendly and arnt on a control high!

Free video games. Also, you usually have the whole place to yourself

This place is awful! — Most expensive drinks in Bellingham — $ 5 cover most nights — Bouncers are disrespectful — To keep the ratio even they will choose males at random and kick you out for being«too drunk»(after they have collected your $ 5 of course) — If more than 30 people are in there it’s way too loud to have any sort of conversation

I had a really excellent New Year’s Eve at Glow. Fun environment with a responsible staff. A great mix for a club! Keep it up Glow! You are very appreciated

I have been to glow 5 times and always have had a good time and seen people I knew. I will look past the fact that the bartender gave me a hard time for being a designated driver when I ordered water for myself to look like I had something in my hands to drink. just for the record I still tip even if it is water. People were friendly and had good djs

If I had to give stars based solely on the bartenders, I would give 5 stars easily. They were very attentive, kind, and gave nice drinks. Unfortunately, the music here has always been a mixed bag. The dj’s choices are questionable, and he was indignant to anyone who approached him. He possessed no notable skills or crowd awareness to compensate for this arrogance. The music seems to be more about him juxtaposing 7 different songs into an audio blur instead of letting people have fun dancing. And so we made our way to Rumours. In fact, the last time I was at Glow, we left to Rumours for the very same reason I’ve described above.

I never thought I’d ever say I’m a fan of Glow, but I have yet to have a bad experience! Since starting a gay night about two months or so ago, my opinion of Glow steadily improves. They appreciate a diverse clientèle despite being pegged as «Bro/Ho» establishment. Sure, you never know what kind of crowd you’re going to get. Honestly, in the past I walked out due to some inappropriate comments by a few close minded patrons… BUT The bartenders are great and the drinks consistently stiff. Glow is definitely in contention for best dance club in Bellingham.

Glow definitely appeals to a certain crowd. I get that. If you’re the type who wants to drink Bud Light out of a bottle and dance to someone’s iPod on shuffle… then Glow’s your thing. For a club in Bellingham, it’s alright. But I’d rather have cheaper/stronger drinks and better music than shiny surfaces and a weak dress code. P. S. I swear I saw some«guidos» there. Before«Jersey Shore.» Yikes.

It’s hard to tell what you’re getting into when you walk up the stairs. But it was worth the $ 5 cover. It’s not even a place that should be i n Bellingham. If Glow was in Bellevue or Seattle I would be there every weekend.
