Magdalena’s is an awesome spot for brunch. My friend and I came on a drizzly Thursday morning in search of delicious crepes. Upon entering, it was clear the mood was very relaxed– the rain, the jazz music, the quaintness of the café. It was a refreshing break from the chaos that is Fairhaven in the summer. The menu is jam packed with sweet and savory crepes in addition to meals that don’t involve crepes at all! Magdalena’s also offers a great assortment of soups, sandwiches and breakfast options. After at least 15 minutes of indecisiveness, I ordered #40 which includes mascarpone cream cheese, lemon curd, fresh fruit and powdered sugar. It was definitely one of the best crepes I’ve ever had! The mascarpone cream cheese was light and airy, the lemon curd had the perfect balance of sweet and sour and the strawberries were juicy and fresh! The combination of flavors and textures was heavenly. Unfortunately, the crêpe itself was lacking. Maybe I’ve had too many Americanized crepes, but I thought the edges were too crispy and the presentation made the whole thing difficult to eat. I also elected to try the fruit tart with Nutella. Between the shortbread crust, huge mound of Nutella and fresh berries, the tart was also a winner! While my friend and I were catching up, apparently the server forgot all about us and our bill. After about 20 minutes, she rushed over, apologized and offered to pay for our tarts. It was a very nice gesture but I didn’t even notice because I was so immersed in conversation! All things considered, I will definitely return to Magdalena’s to try all of their delightful creations!

I love this place. I often eat here with my 9 year-old son. He loves it too! THEFOOD They have soup, salad and other stuff in addition to crepes. I always go for a savory crêpe; my favorite is the one with caramelized onion and baked pork. My son goes for a sweet crêpe; his favorite is the one with cherry jam and powdered sugar topped with white chocolate! I liked all the crepes I have tried at Magdalena’s. I recommend you try their French pressed coffee, too. AMBIANCE It’s small and dark, and a bit«exotic.» I like their coffee cups! Sometimes they are mismatch, but they use nice china. PRICE Crepes are highly overpriced in the US, particularly in Bellingham, but I think Magdalena’s prices are reasonable. HOURS They close early and they also close for vacations. I’ve been there so many times only to find it’s closed! ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit«useful» so that I can improve my reviews. Thank you and happy Unilocaling!

Based on the positive Unilocal reviews and a love of crepes we tried this restaurant on our trip to Bellingham. We walked in and were greeted quickly. We chose a table and were given menus and lukewarm water in a bottle. We ordered a baked crêpe and a savory crêpe to share. The baked crêpe — chicken, mushrooms, onions — was fabulous! The gooey warm cheese made this crêpe heavenly. The smoked salmon crêpe was okay. The thin crêpe stuck to the plate, was difficult to eat and the taste was just okay. We finished those and wanted to try a dessert crêpe but the servers were busy talking to each other about shifts and tips. Our warm water was never refilled. We would have easily doubled our bill if someone had just asked us if we wanted anything else but the server dropped off the bill without giving us a chance to speak. I would go back for a baked crêpe and to try a sweet crêpe but I wouldn’t expect good service. And I would ask for lots of water with ice up front.

Definitely a solid three star establishment! The owner and chefs seemed both friendly and hardworking. The environment was sweet. The food and the coffee were delicious. Pros? Such a massive menu! Baked crepes to die for Pierogis! They weren’t as amazing as my family makes, but they got the craving satisfied. Their coffee was delicious! Cute atmosphere Interesting menu options that you won’t find at other crêpe places The soup was fantastic! Cons? Unfortunately, our server seemed like she really hated her job and had no interest in serving anyone This place got extremely hot and stuffy The pierogis were a bit dry, and the sautéed onions that came with were such a tiny portion I don’t think it counted Crepes are a bit dry Prices are very high

Are these other reviews for real? I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while, saved it for brunch with a friend today and was so NOT impressed. My «café affogato» was a joke, a shot of espresso with a melted spoon of ice cream the size of a a quarter? A joke for 3.75 compared to what I’ve see in Europe. Crepes were dry, and pretty much burnt. The only saving grace was the Perogies… But 6 small ones for 10 dollars? I honestly think this place is way over rated and over priced, which is a bummer especially because I’m all about supporting local… Especially foreign cuisine but this place surely disappointed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

A very hidden brunch junkie’s paradise. Fresh squeezed oranges for your mimosas, and crepes galore. Coffee snob in the family? Excellent. They brew Stumptown coffee from the renowned San Francisco roaster/coffee bar. The interior has just enough light, and airy high ceilings to make you walk the perfect line of quaint, chic, elegant and casual. Had a birthday brunch here once, and it was delightful. Try their rotating specials and be open to suggestions. It’s a lovely Fairhaven breakfast and beyond stop. Awesome to bring family or out of town-ers. A touch of France in Fairhaven. Magnifique!

Magdelena’s Creperie is small and adorable! Inside, the atmosphere is calming and clean. Fortunately the staff was efficient but never checked in on us during our meal. I had the breakfast crêpe with granola, honey, seasonal fruit and Greek yogurt along with a cup of hot water and lemon. My friend got the crêpe with eggs, asparagus, arugula, tomatoes and Brie. However, the crepes are fairly dry and are somewhat difficult to eat based on how they were assembled. I wasn’t too impressed to say the least.

Coming here regularly for about a year some of my favorites are the mushroom pierogi, crêpe Suzette, soup, and number 19 crêpe. Everything I’ve tried here has been done well. I think this is the best breakfast in Bellingham/fairhaven.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here yesterday and felt so fortunate to eat food Magda puts such heart into. I am partial to the roast pork crêpe and my sweetie adores the fried pierogies. It’s honest, handmade, comfort food, presented with great care. It’s an intimate place, with a tiny kitchen and modest seating — in the best way — and on that note, I want to say that Magda and her staff handled a very rude party yesterday with considerable grace. Three adults with children came in, and the adults expected fast food, repeatedly verbally abused the staff, tried to rile up other customers — it was just a terribly wasteful and hurtful way for them to spend a beautiful day in someone’s lovely little restaurant.(Their children were great, by the way!) It was heartening to see the other customers smile at the servers and show them kindness while they dealt with that party. I sincerely hope those people don’t come on here and complain, because they clearly walked in the door expecting the impossible and determined to ruin their server’s day. Go and eat. Hell, I hate beets and I like Magda’s borschts!

This place is the wife’s and my favorite place to eat in bellingham. We have had 90% of the menu as well and we can’t decide what we like the best. The soups are light and the flavors are complex. The crepes are simple but delicious. During the summer, the fruit crepes are what you should try, in the winter go for the soups and sandwich combos.

I have loved this place since it opened, and it only gets better with time. I always get the pierogis. They are pan fried with options like sauerkraut, potato and cheese, or some kind of delicious sausage/meat thing. I get an equal amount of each. Plus they have café affogato: A scoop of ice-cream in coffee. And with the best bellinis & mimosas in town, why go anywhere else for breakfast? I want her to move into my kitchen. The crepes are very large and very delicious. She always uses the best, freshest ingredients. I cannot recommend it highly enough! Magdalena is an AWESOME lady and works so hard!!!

This place is amazing. The crepes were delicious and the Americanos use Stumptown coffee, which says it all. We got the savory Spinach Crêpe and sweet fruit crêpe with white chocolate. It was a lot of food but unsurprisingly we ate every bite. The wait staff was kind and cheery, and the food was prompt. We’ll be back soon.

What a lovely place, with excellent food. And the servers were sweet as well! Came here today with my kids in tow. It was fairly early — around 9am, and we all thought crepes would be great for breakfast, on such a sunny, toasty Bellingham morning. It was already too bright and hot to have our meal outside so we ventured inside. What a cute place, with large wicker chairs with comfy padded seats, round tables and an intimate bistro-like«feel». One kid had a crêpe with asparagus and brie and she loved it. The other had a crêpe with goat cheese and prosciutto. She also loved it but, for me, the prosciutto was way too salty. I opted for an egg dish(scrambled eggs with mozzarella and ham) and, I have to say, these were some of the very best eggs I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned and simply delicious. Truly delicious. It came with some small rounds of toast with jam in the smallest, cutest compote jar ever! Very cute presentation. I ordered a cup of tea. The tea cup was enormous(and very colorful, too). I was a bit surprised when, later when we got the bill, I saw that they charged an extra 75 cents when I asked for some honey with the tea(I’d never seen a surcharge for honey before for my tea, anywhere! Would’ve been nice to know in advance there was a surcharge — but I still would have ordered it regardless). Other than the honey issue(which is pretty minor), the only other pseudo-issue we had with this place was the wait time for our food. It took a long, long time after ordering to get our meals(roughly 30 minutes or more). The restaurant was not busy at all, so this wait time was surprising. That said, the food was really wonderful, our server was lovely, and we really enjoyed our breakfast here. We will certainly return when we next visit BHam!

The crepes here are made with whole wheat. I found the crêpe batter to be sweeter than most. I ordered a mozzarella cheese and ham crêpe, unfortunately it was only alright. The crêpe was over crispy along the edges. I appreciated the use of a nice smoked ham but the fatty bits made the whole thing way too oily. It would have been better if some of the fat had been trimmed. I’ll give it another change but I prefer ABCrepes.

Delicious, creative food! Love the pierogis. Cute atmosphere. Magdalena looks like a super hero… total babe. Fun to hear polish language spoken here often. Fresh squeezed orange juice. I mean come on! I look forward to coming again. Biked here, probably will do that again too.

I had the best experience here while visiting Fairhaven for the day. The service was so nice, and they split the checks for me and my friends at the end which made everything so good. The best experience though was with their chai and their food. I ordered the eggs scrambled with any 3 items and I chose cheese, garlic and asparagus. It was SO delicious. The garlic was whole roasted cloves that were chopped into the eggs. The eggs were tender and moist, and cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned really lovely. The toast came with my own little home made jam compote in the cutest little jar, it was so so great. I really wanted to try the cauliflower soup special of the day, but it had chicken broth in it so as a vegetarian I was not able to but I bet it was delicious. My two friends got different crêpe items and both were totally satisfied with the flavors and portion size — and they also loved the chai !!! I also got a peanut butter crêpe, and it was so delicious and the crêpe was cooked perfectly. It was just a really lovely experience. I don’t care what any of the other reviewers say, honestly this place is really good. Definitely give it a try !!! They have integrity, and their heart is in the food !! I’m just sad I live in California and won’t make it up there every weekend :)

We stopped in for a late Sunday lunch before hitting the road. I believe it is a café influenced by Polish flavors. The menu has a good selection of varios sweet and savory crepes and some Polish dishes. I ordered the cheese Pierogi plate and my wife had a crêpe. The Pierogies were ok. It was a decent, not great, portion for the price. They came with undressed baby spinach and sour cream. They were a little bland. My wife’s crêpe was good, but the crêpe was a little overcooked and crisp.
Our service was very nice, but the food took a while to get to us(we were one of two tables).
