This is a fantastic little Vietnamese eatery, only a 2-minute drive from Bellis Fair mall. The vegetarian phở was really light and tasty with nice flavors(green onion, fresh cilantro, basil etc). All of the vegetables were fresh, crisp and colorful. The bread that came with the vegetarian ban mi sandwich — with avocado and fried tofu — was light and perfectly toasted(as it should be). The space is modern, very clean and the service is efficient and friendly. Will be back!

Super bummed! I have been to the Holly St. location many times and have always had great quality food. I was excited to find this location close to work, but was very disappointed. I ordered to go and was told it would be 10 minutes, I got there early and my food was already packaged and ready to go… Seemed really fast, too fast. The food did not taste fresh, the chicken seemed old and over cooked or maybe re-heated and the vegetables were old/over cooked too. The freshest tasting thing was my side of rice :(. I threw most of the food away. I will not be a returning customer.

Classic vietnamese flavors with a modern twist. The only place in Bellingham I’ve found so far that serves Vietnamese sandwiches and they do it well; the bread was phenomenal — fresh, light and flaky and extra points for using pâte, although it was a little bland. Nice ambiance and presentation of food. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the eggrolls. I found them to be lacking in flavor. The menu items were overpriced and I feel that the options were somewhat limited. Overall a good experience.

Soy House is one of those go to places especially when it’s gloomy out. The Phở is great and their tofu is perfectly cooked. Love their Vietnamese coffee!

Overpriced. The phở broth is different than any I’ve had and I don’t enjoy. To add tendon and tripe cost an extra $ 2.50. Tried this place a second time and ordered Banh Mi, doesn’t have the radish and the jalapeño on the sandwich, and the Banh Mi is overpriced as well ten dollars for a small sized sandwich. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The best Phở I have had. I’m always happy with the excellent service and delicious Phở. Make sure you try their sweet potato fries while you are there.

We were passing through Bellingham and happened to see this place on Unilocal. Both the veggie & Chicken Phở were good but could’ve used some more flavors. The spring rolls were delicious. I would go back but would likely try another dish.

I have to give Soy House it’s due credit. I have gone twice now, and ordered a variety of itmes every time. Man, they do not disappoint. All their food is great. If you like tofu, order their fried tofu phở. I HAVENEVER, had fried tofu so perfect. The reason they are docked a star is mostly due to service. They aren’t rude, but not really attentive. I still don’t know if I’m supposed to pay at the table or at the counter and I’ve been there multiple times. But, I will recommend them as the best Vietnamese food in town.

Sadly disappointed. Very bland food. The service was okay, not very friendly, but not rude. The sandwich was bland and tasteless, the noodle dish was bland, and the shrimp were disgusting. We ordered grilled shrimp — and were given semi-cold boiled shrimp. The sauces were extremely watered down too. The soft roll was tasteless and mainly lettuce, with watery peanut sauce. Haven’t tried their phở yet — maybe that’s good? But would never order anything else.

We’ve been to the Soy House many times in the hope it would get better. The truth is, the food is mediocre. Most of their appetizers are weak imitations of Vietnamese food. For example, their Honey Walnut Prawns, is horrible — the prawns taste like hard clumps of cardboard coated with a heavy, sweet batter. Their Banh Mi sandwich, which had a great review in the Herald, is OK, but nothing great. Their best dish is Phở — it is good but not great. I’ve had GREAT Phở in Saigon and this is not it.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is tasty, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. The staff is friendly and welcoming. It feels more like being a guest at someone’s home than a restaurant. I had the egg roll Bun, and my husband had the stir fried noodles; both excellent. Highly recommend the warm coconut pudding for dessert. Overall, one of the best places EVER. Will definitely be back.

I love love love this place! Best Vietnamese food in Bellingham, hands down. I enjoy supporting local businesses and having authentic food, basically a win win. Their service is good, cute ambience, not too fancy but nice. The rare steak phở is on point, along with any Bahn mi! Happy hour is great at their downtown location as well! Do it!

A superb, reliable source of subtle Vietnamese cuisine, housed in a spacious, attractive setting. The seafood and Saigon Special Phở, especially with fresh, par-cooked vegetables added, are consistently satisfying. Deep fried tofu and sweet potatoes are delicious appetizers. For warm weather variety, the shredded cabbage with chicken is crunchy and tasty. Service is friendly and prompt. Worth becoming a regular.

Be warned. Unilocal says they close at 9. I went in at 7:52 and was told«we do our last seating at 7:30». Very disappointing!

Vegan options: Yes Service: Quick, attentive Food: Flavorful, unique We went here as a student group of nine and were all very pleased with our food. Our meals came out quickly and were what we’d ordered. Several of our group members ordered the Sparkling Honey & Lime Drink and really liked it. I am vegan and ordered one tofu spring roll as my starter. The spring roll was a nice size but wasn’t filled with much and the sauce was kind of watery. Not bad though. Every place makes their sauces differently which is nice. I also ordered the Vegan Phở and really enjoyed it! This was my first phở experience. My bowl was nice and hot and full of tons of vegetables and noodles. It looked simple but the flavors were all there. Very yummy with some sriracha on top. One of our students had to ask for his bowl to be heated up. The owners graciously obliged. The owners don’t speak English too well but they know what they’re doing and were very attentive. Soy House is extremely clean which is always appreciated. Good prices, too.

I was craving Vietnamese food and this is the closest place I could find without having to cross the border. I had the Phở and it was decent. I guess I miss all the extra stuff like tripe, but that’s okay. I can always get my fill at home. My husband ordered the Bun which was good. He thought the fish sauce had a funny taste though. It wasn’t bad. It was just different from what we are used to eating. I would recommend this place. It’s great for a quick lunch. I saw a few other customers come in and the owners knew who they were on a first name basis and their«usual dish». You don’t see that very often… which I thought was pretty cool.

I don’t think a lot of these posters have every had authentic, genuine Vienamese food. I like fresh veggies and the serving of bean sprouts and basil was so paltry that I had to ask for more. Also, the service was not very friendly or welcoming. They were rather curt. I personally would never frequent this restaurant again, I was born and raised in Hawaii and if you are ever there, go to a restaurant in China Town that is right next to the river. I think it’s called Phở To… You can’t miss it because there will always be a LONG line around lunch time…

I drove across the border going to mall and found this place on the way. Food was beyond expectations! I had deep fried tofu with peanut sauce dip. Mmmmmm Spicy beef noodle which is very spicy but really I asked for it :) so it’s cool! And they’re coconut banana bread pudding top with peanuts is just tooooooooo good. Even better place is clean, washroom is clean and not stuffy. Highly recommend!
